WITHOUT PRODUCT REVIEWS, SPONSORS, DONATIONS AND STICKER SALES, I’d have to go back to work and not do ANY videos, because you can’t live without any income.
Welcome to the update or part two of my I bought my tires at Amazon and having them installed at
Mavis. It's Monday. It's almost uh it's 10 minutes to 11 and so they told me to bring it in around
noon. I'm gonna go an hour earlier because I woke up earlier. Anyway I have no illusions about the
fact that I'm gonna have to leave the car. There's no way they're gonna get it done in like an hour
you know what I mean? I just have a feeling that they're gonna make me wait pretty much all day
for them to install my tires. I also have brand new tire pressure sensors TPMS sensors that I got
off of eBay a while ago in anticipation for these installs. When they mount and balance tires you
usually need to pay for new valves too. Well these are essentially the valves but I do need new TPMS
sensors because they have a battery inside and as you all know batteries do not last forever.
The right rear one went out like a couple of months ago so it's just a matter of time before
the other three go out. So I'm gonna have them install these too. Whatever it costs to put them
in they shouldn't charge me anything because it's the same thing as a valve. Anyway because I don't
think they're gonna get it done in an hour I'm not gonna wait there even though the weather is
gloomy and rainy. I'm bringing my electric bike or scooter. I'm gonna try to shove it in there
and if I have to leave it I'm gonna ride home. It'll be fun in the rain.
I don't think it'll fit. No problem. I know some of you guys are taking odds on whether
or not I get it done today. Leave it in the comments. Think it'll happen today or no?
Okay I'm here. It's about three miles from my house and it doesn't seem all that busy. Look
there's a parking spot available. I'm gonna walk inside. I'm gonna put this camera on
without them seeing it just so you guys can hear what my conversation's like.
How are you Bill? I am excellent. How are you? I came in on Saturday and I had Amazon tires shipped
over here and I had a 12 o'clock appointment. What kind of tires were they? They were Lexani's
and she checked and they were here she said. I'm still a little confused as to
why you didn't take me. I had a 12 o'clock appointment and then I think Lindsay over
there said that you take walk-ins too. So I'm just saying though why do you give appointments
to people? It's a reservation. It's a reservation right? So if you give me a reservation. I'm gonna
answer your question for you. But I'm not finished asking them. I already know it. You're not the
first one to ask. Okay go ahead. Why do they allow it to happen? Why do they allow multiple people
to do it at the same time? Obviously you can't take 10 people at the same time. So why allow it?
Because they want to make money. They're a corporation. Mavis does. Not so much Amazon.
We don't control it. It's Mavis. It's not Amazon's fault. It's Mavis allows as many people to make
the same appointment because they just want the business. The same appointment at the same time
slot? Sometimes. Really? So like 10 people can have the 12 o'clock appointment on the same day?
I think it might even overload at four but still we can't even do four at the same time. That's
insane. So what happens is we had 20 people by 10 o'clock. We can't take 20 people by two o'clock.
So the later it got the worse it was. We were still doing Saturday inspections on Sunday. I
finished Saturday's inspections at like three o'clock yesterday. Are you the manager? Yeah.
So we were overloaded. I can understand and especially it's a weekend too right? So we
appreciate you being so understanding and coming. Yeah because not every customer is going to say
oh you want me to come back on another day you know? And I was completely cool with it because
you know getting my tires done isn't like the biggest priority in life you know what I mean?
Whereas I saw the look on all you guys's faces that you were like not so much chaotic but
you were stressed you know what I mean? It's overwhelming. And for you to have to come to work
and feel like that every day is not cool. So let me ask you this. Does Mavis know that this goes
on throughout the country you know? I would hope so. I would think so at the very least. I mean it's
almost like not even worth it for you guys to do it because you only charge $16.99 to you know if
you buy the tires off Amazon it's like $16.99. The puppy chulo places on the corner over there
charge me $40. You're right and we don't we really make no money off the Amazon thing so why do they
continue to do it? It's almost like a customer service. Yeah. Because they're not making money
off of it. They do it so they can tell people like you yes we'll help you. Well also it gets
the name Mavis out there and people know and whatever and if you do a good job they'll do it
without buying the tires. Try to be in the business saying yes. Yes sir. And then the last thing you
said that day was I said would it help if I brought it in another day? Yes. And you're like
the look on your faces were like yes please just bring it in another day. And even though Mondays
are pretty you know tight too right? You told me bring it in noon we'll have you in and out. There
you go. So I'm here at 11. And my car is outside I want to tell you some things about that okay.
So my right rear tire the TPMS sensor went out years ago not years ago two months ago and it's
because I think one of the puppy chulo guys had put fix-a-flat in it. So over the time the fix-a-
flat might have shorted the battery in the TPMS sensor which means that one's out. All right
there it is. And so look I shoved my electric scooter in the back seat and I was going to
ride home because I didn't want you to have to rush it. You know what I'm saying?
And I don't want to sit there in your waiting room
giving you pressure. Not that you'd be in any pressure. Thank you sir.
And it says on the work order that you guys actually
relearn the TPMS sensors if required. Yeah you have the computer stuff and all that. Of course.
That's great because the puppy chulo guys won't do it. It's an expensive scanner tool that's
probably why they don't have to. How many miles do we have on the Mercedes? We've got like 57k
57 600. So I pre-paid the service there won't be any other charge right? Correct. Great I appreciate
it man and thanks a lot for telling me because you know you gave me a good explanation about
what was up but you know from a customer's point of view. Yeah you want to understand.
Yeah it's a little disappointing you know. No I know the stupid computer system. But you guys
have been great though. Good I'm really happy to hear that. Thank you so much. Thanks man. No
problem. So I'll take your key and I'll call you when I'm ready. I appreciate it man and listen
no rush man. I mean I'm home all day I'll just ride over. Thanks man I appreciate it. Thank you Lindsay.
All right so you heard it from the horse's mouth. I spoke to the manager of the place.
You know he's a nice guy and stuff like that you know what I mean. It certainly seems like it's not
their fault. It's just they get the orders and they're just swamped all the time. So uh riding my
e-scooter back. It's raining but you know what you gotta do what you gotta do.
I told them not to rush because I'm not in a rush and I just want them to do a good job that's all.
Anyway um it's dropped off. We'll see what happens. So I'm home. This thing worked great.
I got home in like 10 minutes or 15. 10 or 15. Went 2.6 miles and one bar is gone. It worked great.
If you guys are interested in this type of scooter I'll leave a link in the description.
Now I'm just going to wait for a phone call from Bill. I'll let you know when it's ready.
Bill calls me. I'm just going to go pick up the car. We'll be done. I've decided I'm going to
take this e-scooter because this folds down easily and I can put this in the trunk instead
of fighting that one to put it into the backseat. I figure I'd try it long distance anyway. I don't
have to sit down and stop raining. So I made it here even faster. One bar was lost.
This thing runs great. It'd be a lot of fun if it wasn't so darn cold.
All right they got it taken care of. Light is out. Look at these Lexanis.
Brand new. $300. Installed is another story. But at the end of the day,
I've got four new tires for less than $380. Installed. Yes, it did take me two days.
Yes, I did have to ride over here on a motor scooter, e-scooter in the rain. But at the end
of the day, my TPMS dash light is out. I've got four new tires. I guess I'm a happy camper.
Would I take it to Mavis on a regular basis? Probably not. Would you look at that.
So if you look on the afternoon weekdays. Tight ship brother. Thank you very much. You too man.
Appreciate it. All right. As you can see, there is no dash lights on showing the TPMS sensors.
Sweet. Feeling the tires. I feel fine. Smooth. So if you guys want cheap tires,
you guys don't want to spend $350 per tire. How about just spending $350 and getting all four?
I'm a fan. So I hope you guys enjoyed the video. Just my experience of getting cheap tires and
have them installed at your local Mavis discount tire. Bunch of hassles. But at the end of the day,
I no longer have a TPMS sensor warning light. They got it done for me, which was very nice.
I wish I didn't have to go back twice, of course. But like I said, the final product
and result was that I got brand new tires for 350 when it would have cost me 350 for one tire,
having them installed for $63 from Amazon. Plus I tipped the guys to sort out the TPMS sensor.
So the moral of the story is, if you buy tires on Amazon, you're going to get a great deal.
75% off, right? Installation is going to be probably less than half of what some other
poppy chulo place will charge you to mount and balance the tires.
So if you're going to use Mavis or your local provider or installer, that's an option on
Amazon. Make sure you go early in the morning, midweek, like Wednesday, it's probably dead.
Weekends and Mondays, probably still busy. Today, they got it done for me in like three hours
because it's still a Monday, right? You still got quite a lot of people that we've been waiting for
the weekend. But if you go like Wednesday, I'm sure you'll be in and out. Hope you guys enjoyed
the video. Remember to like, share, and subscribe and we'll see you next time on Mowers and Blowers.
Hangry over at Mowers and Blowers.
