EXTENDED HIGHLIGHTS | United 0-0 City | Manchester Derby ends in stalemate!

There's always a storyline when these two square up and today the focus will fall on Kevin de Bruyne. This will be his last ever Manchester derby, almost 11 years after his first. Today he will go in search of his 10th win against United and he's sick here on enemy territory, two days after the announcement that he will be moving on this summer. Wouldn't it be typical of the great man if he bows out in style? Captain in City this afternoon, surely he will undoubtedly have an impact. United are protecting their famous Stratford end, City protecting the end and well they're already in trouble, United right down the middle, an early chance, some good defending though just prevents a chance and in the end the referee's given a free kick on the edge of the box and it's a yellow card as well, suddenly United burst forward and there was a challenge on Garnaccio who ended on the deck, Diaz has been booked for it, it was outside the area definitely. So Bruno Fernandes with the first chance of the Manchester derby, takes the run-up, hits the shot straight into the middle of that wall, it cannons out for the game's first corner. What a start to this Manchester derby and not a good one for the Blues either. O'Reilly with the number 75 on his shirt, he's just played the throw and got it back and then Dalot literally just thunks it anywhere and it goes straight up to Matias Nunez and City can come forward here and they're down the right side with Foden on the edge of the area, Foden hits the shot, it's into the side netting, it was a half a chance no more than that and Foden's disappointed that he couldn't get it on target and I think Onana had it covered and it goes out for a goal kick. Throw is taken, Vardy-Olchesi now on the edge of the D, helps it out to this near side to Nico O'Reilly in front of the main stand at Old Trafford up towards Marmouche, Marmouche brings it down, tries a shot, it's blocked by Maguire and it goes out for City's first corner but it was a good ball actually from O'Reilly and Marmouche took it down and tried to hit it early but Maguire to be fair came across and blocked it. Diaz again and on to De Bruyne, De Bruyne outside it goes to Matias Nunez, very very wide on the right side, plays it back inside to Bernardo Silva on to KDB who hits a shot low and Onana gathers it fairly simply but there is the first attempt on target of the match and it's a Kevin De Bruyne shot that is easily gathered by Andre Onana. Dalot has it on the edge of the City area, he puts in a cross, it's a dangerous one and then two United players try to descend upon it, neither got any kind of touch and in the end City clear it for a throw-in. United can't believe they've not scored. City have it with Foden, Foden tackled but it broke for City again and they have it with Matias Nunez, wide to De Bruyne in the right wing position on it goes towards Gundogan and it's out for a second City corner. It's going to be an in swinging corner from Phil Foden up towards a very central area, Masraoui heads it away, I'm not going to say it was off the line because it was never going in but just for a moment Onana looked a little bit out of sorts clasping at thin air, he has hopped it on to Matias Nunez who comes inside and plays it and then just seemed to lose it but Kovacic has got it, Kovacic on towards Gundogan shooting position and he tried it and it missed but not by that much, I think Onana to be fair to him always had his angles and I think he pulled his arm away at the end but another sight up for City. Now City coming forward, nice ball by Foden on it goes to Gundogan, Gundogan crosses the halfway line onwards it goes to O'Reilly, City getting towards the final third, Marmouche on the turn, oh it's broken and Foden is tackled right at the death, it's a brilliant challenge oh it's a goal kick, City convinced it should be a corner, it was a Masraoui challenge on Foden as Foden thought he was about to score it broke to him in the area and Masraoui made this brilliant rescuing tackle. United coming forward and there's a bit of space out wide for them, now a crossing position on City's left, still United looking for the right ball in, the ball is still in City's final third and then Matias Nunez gets the ball away from Dorgu and out for a corner, it was a good defensive header under pressure by Matias Nunez. Kovacic looks up sees a red wall in front of him, onwards it goes to Bernardo Silva and then Guardiola and then Marmouche and was Marmouche fouled, he was by Lindelof, very very central just about on the edge of shooting. Marmouche and De Bruyne are ready to take this free kick, it's a long way out but still in shooting range and it is going to be Marmouche and he puts it on target and Onana makes what I would describe as a save for the cameras, it was a fairly easy opportunity for the goalkeeper to save it and that he did. Passes it out wide to Jeremy Doku, Doku up against Dalot comes inside and he's held again and that'll be a yellow card because twice in the space of two or three minutes he's grabbed the shirt of Jeremy Doku. De Bruyne puts it into the box and it's flicked on and will that be a corner, no it's a goal kick, no it is a corner, thought it was a signal as a goal kick, it's not, it's a city corner which is their first of the second half. The signals are going up from KDB, he hits an out swinging ball and it's cleared and then back in again by Marmouche brilliantly and then O'Reilly on the rebound, O'Reilly and on to Bernardo Silva and United will get it away well it was clear to the edge, the offside flag's gone up now but it was clear to the edge of the area, Marmouche thumped it on the volley, it was on target but too close to Onana who beat it away and then on the second chance the offside flag went up. Dalot throws it up to Xherxen, back it goes to Casemiro, ball to this near side to Dorgu, a game that both sides feel they can go on and win here's Garnaccia taking on and getting the ball to Dorgu and back it goes and a great save by Ederson and then Mount has his shot blocked by Rico Lewis and on it goes to Bruno Fernandes, real danger, Dalot crosses and Lewis was in the way and United probably came the closest to scoring but for a great save by Ederson, Ederson's just made probably the best save of the match to deny Xherxen who hit it first time maybe just a little too close to Ederson and then Mount on the rebound blocked by Rico Lewis.
