So, I'm starting out by laying out the background, and then you can see that I quickly there
I had a photo of Rockwell in reverse that I simply outlined the important parts of his
portions and then transferring it over to the clay background. What I'm doing from there on
out is basically a paint by numbers method just filling in all those gaps, but it's important
that while I'm doing that I'm also establishing the height of those different forms that I'm
working. I'll start off establishing the tip of the nose as the highest point in this case,
and then I'll establish the the lowest points and that that would be the left and the right
side of the neck, left and right side of the or all the way around the hair where it meets the
background. You know those are the lowest points and then basically it's filling in everything in
between. So, never going higher than that nose and never going flatter than or lower than the
lowest points. And also keeping in mind every every area you're working is in relation to each
other so the highest point of his cheeks or maybe his lower lip you know is going to probably be
most likely going to be higher than anywhere on the hair you know where the hair is a little bit
further back.
