Massive, massive game tonight here at FedEx Forum.
It's the Memphis Grizzlies at 47-32 on the year,
taking on the Minnesota Timberwolves
for a final time during the regular season.
Why is this game so big?
The Grizzlies currently in that sixth spot again
at 47-32 on the season.
One full game ahead of the Timberwolves,
currently in the eighth spot at 46-33
after Tuesday's loss to Milwaukee.
Tonight's game could decide whether or not
you're gonna be in the play-in tourney
or whether or not you secure that sixth spot in the West.
Grizzlies get first crack at it,
and it's a bucket from John Morant,
who has been looking like his typical self
since the All-Star break.
Morant caught in the air, threw it behind Eadie,
up ahead, highlight for Anthony Edwards.
His first two of the ballgame, 6-5 Grizzlies.
Back to McDaniels, wide open, can't hit the three.
He's been struggling from beyond the arc,
shooting just 27% on the road this season
from three-point lengths.
Triple J with the tray.
Morant working on Edwards, off-balance shot, put it in.
You know he wants to go left,
and it's what he did in Minneapolis.
The two shots he hit at the end of game in Minneapolis
were huge, and Anthony Edwards wants all the smoke right now.
He went to guard it and do his thing.
Edwards for three, bottoms.
This is gonna be quite the matchup, you know?
Wolves by two, Edwards around a Gobert screen
for three more.
That was a total eclipse for Rudy Gobert on that screen.
John Morant, after getting fined $75,000,
has gone to the grenade into the crowd.
Here he is, spinning away from Dee Vincenzo,
who just checked in, fired a three.
Will he get to sell it?
There it is.
He got it.
First three.
Right on cue for crying out loud.
That's not the announcer's excitement.
Yeah, that's bad luck right there.
Slaughter from John Morant.
He is on now.
Grizzlies momentarily have numbers.
Morant for three, throw the grenade.
He's just a killer.
When he misses laps like that, and he's on the ground,
it just creates outnumbered situations every time.
Edwards, 11 points in the period.
Crossover, spinning, in the lane, got the lay-in.
Beautiful move and finish by Anthony Edwards.
Edwards, three more.
Off the bench, back on the scoreboard.
He's leading all scores with 16 points.
Here's Morant, scoops it up over Rudy Gobert.
The degree of difficulty on that one, off the charts.
Edwards, working on Kanchar.
The pull-up J is pure.
He's got the mini working.
Morant inside, Zach Eaddy way off the mark
from point blank.
Edwards, cooking, around a Gobert screen for three.
Bottoms, and he is on a run right now.
63rd 20-point game of the season for Anthony Edwards.
Morant, a lot of dribbling.
Eaddy inside that time.
He will not miss.
Edwards.
Oh, he got O'Donnell off balance, and it drops.
From the rim down.
Let's go dancing.
23 for employee number five.
Morant, the lay-in is good.
Oh my goodness.
So they're switching all these actions now.
They switched, started switching it in the second quarters.
John Morant, there's another hand grenade.
Oh my goodness, he's making shots
in that third three of the game for that young man.
Edwards, curling to the rim.
Put it up with the left.
Count it, and put him on the line.
That's huge.
Another turnover for the Grizzlies.
Edwards with 29.
Oh, and ricochets right to Gobert for the throw down.
Wolves up by double figures.
Morant, the decel, and the score.
This Memphis Grizzlies team only has eight.
Off the offensive rebound, Edwards.
Right down the middle.
Heck of a possession right there.
Randle, 12 points in the quarter.
Driving on Eadie, out to Conley.
Conley on the drive.
Bounce pass to Randle.
Randle, firing from the corner.
It won't go, the follow slam.
An electric throw down from Anthony Edwards.
You gotta see what he did there,
because he was coming back for the handoff from Julius.
When Julius shot it, he just jetted right to the rim.
And that's what you should do.
I mean, that was such a smart play by him.
He didn't sit there and linger around Julius
to take up his space.
He is getting it done.
Morant hanging in the air and got the acrobatic finish.
Four minutes to go here in the third.
Edwards down the line, leaves it for Gobert.
Beautiful two-man game.
Here are the Grizzlies back in attack mode.
Pippen in the lane, blocked.
Got it back.
Wolves out of the zone that they were in
to start this third quarter.
A red-hot shooting we saw.
Step back three, Edwards.
Cash!
Jackson can't hit.
Got his own.
Threw a crowd, can't hit.
Edwards the rebound.
That's how you roll up if you're Thomas Reid.
Edwards with 41, spins out of trouble.
Fires the three.
Yes, Serski!
Edwards.
DiVincenzo from Nashville!
Bang.
Takes it out.
Morant, quick trigger on a three.
It's good.
You win your final three 100%.
It's a good thing.
You're out of the play.
You're guaranteed six, but you can still get to four.
McDaniels!
Big time trifecta.
If the Wolves win out,
they have a 53% chance of getting four.
Rebound Eaddy.
Starting to get in desperation mode for Memphis.
Good ball movement.
Morant for three.
Good.
He has done a great job shooting a lot tonight.
Hey, but a lot of bombs thrown in this game.
He's hit five threes tonight.
He's five and 11.
That's a lot of volume for him, too.
He's got 33.
Morant.
Pump, drive, in the air.
Bucket, and the foul.
Old-fashioned three-point play opportunity
for John Morant.
Randle, backing down Bang.
Fading away.
Bully ball!
Too small.
Morant and Edwards on an island.
Morant, foul.
Free throw's coming,
and it's Minnesota in the penalty.
2.29 to go in regulation.
I'm not sure why Ed tried passing the basketball,
but a technical foul has been called.
I believe it's on Morant.
Wolves trying to avoid the sweep,
and get a big win here in Memphis.
The flush from Rudy Gobert,
off the feed from Mike Conley.
Randle, pull-up over Aldama.
Bottoms!
I just don't know how much better you can play
than the Wolves have played here
in the second half against Memphis.
Grizzlies are one out the clock.
One out of superlatives talking about this one.
A gutsy performance on the road.
This has been a long road trip for the Timberwolves,
and they close it with a massive win here in Memphis.
1.41, 1.25 the final,
behind 44 points from Anthony Edwards.
Another 26 from Julius Randle.
The Wolves did what needed to be done.
