Rocky Johnson, Legendary Wrestler and Dwayne Johnson's Father, Dead at 75

Dwayne Johnson's father, Rocky Johnson, has died. The legendary wrestler was 75. Rocky Johnson was part of an iconic WWE tag team called the Soul Patrol. The organization released a statement and said, quote, the WWE extends its condolences to Johnson's family, friends, and fans. Dwayne Johnson's moniker, The Rock, was inspired by his father, who later trained him to become a wrestler. Back in March, Johnson posted a video to Instagram and shared that he was going to buy his father a house. About two, three weeks ago, I called my dad and I said, look, you're probably happy where you're at. I said, but I want to do something for you. I want to buy you a brand new home, wherever you want to live. And he goes, I'm so excited and I'm also so nervous. I said, what the hell are you nervous about? No one ever called to tell me they were going to buy me a house before. And the fact that it's you, it's my son, I'm so proud of you and I love you so much. I never heard my dad talk like that. It felt good to me. It just felt good to kind of give back to, you know, the ones who raised you. In 1999, Johnson portrayed his father in an episode of That 70s Show. You know, I got a son and one day he's going to become the most electrifying man in sports entertainment. ET has reached out to Johnson's reps for comment.
