Hi, Tom McPherson here with this week's Circle Line Art School drawing,
for this drawing the first step is to draw a soft horizontal line
low down on the page, next we need a vanishing point in the center of this
horizon line, as we can add some receding perspective
lines later on to this drawing, next we can
draw another horizontal guideline below the horizon
line, as we want the building to be between us,
next it's time to work out the elegant curves of the structure of the building,
for this it's best to move your hand around in a natural way,
imagine drawing the curves without actually drawing them yet,
it's a good idea perhaps to draw a couple of dots
to help remind us where the curves will change direction,
but let me draw the curve structure first and then it's your go,
and then you can see what works and what doesn't work
in the drawing that I make, then when you're ready draw the curve
structure, if the curve structure that you draw is
not quite as you would wish just have another go,
use soft pencil lines so that you can erase the pencil lines easily,
the structure of the curve doesn't need to be precise but I think it would be
good if it has the sort of flow of energy
of the curves, so that's the difficult part done,
for this drawing I use a 4B pencil, any soft art pencil would be good to use,
