Say hi.
Hello Jack.
Say hi.
Say hi everybody.
Hi everyone.
Hi friends.
I'm Jack.
He may look like your average two-year-old, but his golf swing is a smash hit.
Oh, that was a good one, bud.
How much does golf rule Jack's life?
Entirely, as you can see.
Except for food.
Yeah, usually food takes precedence, but today him being at the Idlewild here,
it's sensory overload in a way.
Two-year-old Jack Canton recently won the title for the best peewee golf swing in the world.
The competition is run by Little Linkster's Golf Academy in Florida.
It's judged by some of the big names in the golf world,
Jack Nicklaus, Jordan Spieth, Annika Sorenstam,
and they get kids to send in videos from all over the world.
In Jack's age group, he competed against kids from Australia and Texas and Florida
and all over the place, and he ended up taking first place in his category,
which was pretty remarkable.
But the most remarkable part is probably that Jack Nicklaus, for example,
the greatest golfer ever, watched him swing and thought he was the best,
and for the kids, I think that's the coolest thing.
Nice one! There's a good finish, bud.
When did you guys recognize that he had talent?
I feel like it was right around when he started walking.
So he started with, obviously, meaning we live in Canada,
so he started with a hockey stick in his hands, and very, very quickly,
I think it was his first birthday.
His first birthday, we got him his first set of little plastic clubs,
and right away, he was swinging it like he's been holding it for years.
We were up late, I think it was like 4 o'clock in the morning,
and Golf Channel was just what would calm him down,
but he bounced up off the couch and went and grabbed basically a little stick,
and he went and swung just like they did on TV.
Even for me, I've been golfing my whole life, and I was like, wow.
I still remember that one little swing, and I was like, you know what?
You got something going on here, and we just let it kind of flourish from there.
I have no doubts in my mind that if he actually wants to do this,
that he'll be as good as he wants to be.
He's a hard worker.
He's stubborn, so that's a good thing,
because he's not going to stop until he's satisfied.
Yeah, I mean, he's just a great kid.
He's fun to be around, and you can't be more proud.
I love golf.
