Join us as we explore the breathtaking beauty of Geoje Island—South Korea's low-key answer to Jeju Island! This stunning location left us in awe, from its scenic views to its delicious local delicacies.
Our day started with a classic McDonald's breakfast and a quick pit stop at one of Korea's highway rest stops before diving into our Geoje adventure. We sought out a small, family-owned restaurant in a rural area to savor the local delicacies—abalone and oysters. The hospitality was incredible! Even though the restaurant was closed, the owners welcomed us with open arms, giving us a truly unforgettable dining experience.
After lunch, we made our way to the Geoje Botanical Garden. Inside, we explored the gorgeous Geoje Dome, a lush, green paradise filled with exotic plants and stunning landscapes.
Come along with us on this journey to discover one of South Korea's hidden gems! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more travel adventures.

Good morning, I'm on the 4th of July, happy birthday.
Today we're going to Goji Island.
It's way down south, like more south of Busan.
And we're just going to drive.
Our first stop right now is here in McDonald's.
We did some breakfast.
Sausage, Egg McMuffin, BLT Egg Muffin.
And some ice latte.
We're back in McDonald's because
this is the only establishment that is open this early.
And here in Korea they don't have like,
you know like in America it depends,
like Denny's or like a diner or whatever
that is open early, like this morning.
And here in Korea you have a choice
what size would you like.
So you have a choice of coleslaw,
hash browns, or mozzarella sticks.
Alright so if ever you are doing a road trip here in Korea,
make sure to stop by in one of these rest stops.
Because rest stops here in Korea are nice.
I'm telling you that because it's really nice.
The rest stops are so cool, they have food,
they do a little bit of shopping,
snacks, and best of all the bathrooms here are so clean.
Korean snacks, ice cream, hot dogs, coffee,
and just like a little shopping like this.
And we are up to adventure,
looking for a restaurant to eat for lunch.
Here in Goji their delicacy is oyster and abalone.
There are a couple of restaurants down the road,
we tried and looked, but they're both closed.
We went down the road also,
but it is like an oyster shopping factory or whatever,
so it's not really like a restaurant.
And we ended up coming over here,
and this looks like a family restaurant,
where they serve eel and oysters.
Is it oyster?
So we're going to try,
we don't speak English, we don't speak Hong Kong,
but we want good food, local food, so we'll see.
Just for reference, this is the first restaurant that we want to go to.
Just look at the picture, it looks good right?
Look how big the oyster is.
It's so plump.
You know it's fresh.
Good, good, good.
It feels like eating a pig,
just a local house, somebody's house, eating at home.
I never like eel, but this one is clean taste actually.
And it's not slimy at all, which is good.
Thank you.
Bye bye.
Mom and Pop place, but they just let us in.
They really weren't open, but they just made us food just for us.
They were very nice.
Yeah, we got grandma and grandpa.
Food was good though, the eel was good,
really, it was fresh,
had a good clean flavor to it,
and then the soup was good too with the oysters.
Yeah, I like the oysters because it's so fresh.
It tastes like ocean water, but it wasn't briny.
Not too fishy like other oysters.
This one is plump and so good.
I like it, that's a different thing.
I've never had one of those porridge,
it's kind of like a porridge or stew with rice and broth,
some dried seaweeds, bean sprouts.
It tastes like broth or like the oyster too.
I was trying to translate what she was saying,
and she says, are you two lovers?
And I said, yes.
And then she said again that you found a pretty lady.
She's so cute.
It's different, it's a different adventure for us,
we've never been to a rural place that just eats something local.
Because when we go to certain places,
we go to nice restaurants in the city,
but this one is not.
You're in Korea.
Goje Botanic Garden.
To get here, you have to pay $5, about 5,000 won each person.
It comes with an entrance here to the Goje Dome.
It's so humid, I'm very sweaty right now.
But that is our thing to do, so that way we don't get burned in the sun.
