One year ago today, after getting a very kind tip from my american friends Trickrtreatt and Anatoniccom about an abandoned psychiatric hospital right here in Ontario, RiddimRyder Photography and I headed on a roadtrip to see this place for ourselves.
I had seen these photos in my american friends instagram feeds months before, but I had no idea that they were from this place and that it was right in Ontario just a short drive away!
I had always told my friends that any time they are in the area they can have access to any location of mine that interests them, knowing their interest for old psych hospitals, I look forward to meeting them some time and delivering on my promise.
Anyway, a small bit of info went a very long way and as soon as RiddimRyder Photography and I arrived we knew just where to go to get in.
RiddimRyder and I would end up spending just over 4 hours exploring as much as we could in this amazing old institution.
The best part here had to be the old bowling alley and the tunnels that connected every building.
With power on inside and an active security patrol outside, our senses were heightened which made this a very exciting experience.
