Mets vs Phillies (4/21/25) | NY Mets Highlights

At Citi Field in New York, the New York Mets play the Philadelphia Phillies. And the curveball hit down the line toward the stand. That ball's out of here and Lindor has hit leadoff home runs in back-to-back games. Not enough down tilt, but he threw them three in a row. 3-2 for McGill. And he dotted the outside corner, strike three call. On the inside corner, got him looking. Swing and a miss, he struck him out. Tyler McGill strikes out the side of the second inning. And Winker slams one deep right center. Rojas will go back, take a look, but that ball is gone. Second straight inning, the Mets have let off with a home run. Jesse Winker is first of the year, and it's 2-0 New York. Winker homered against Nola. Last time he faced him in October, he greets him with a home run tonight. And that's lined up a short, a base hit for Acuna. Can he hit a home run in the middle of a game? Or only at the beginning and end? He can't get the answer. Deep center field, Stephenson back near the wall. It's out of hand! Nola Doris strikes again! His second of the night, a three-run homer! Wanted to come inside, and it's right down the pipe. Up the middle, and that'll be a base hit for Reamuto. And that'll bring in Kepner with the Phillies' first run. So the shutout is broken. 0-2. In the air, right field, pretty deep. Back goes Soto, back near the wall, and it's out of here! A three-run homer for Bryson Stott to make this a one-run game. The ball game is over! Edwin Diaz gives up the home run, but then strikes out Turner and Harper. And the Mets hang on for a one-run win in the opening game of this series against the Phillies. Two home runs for Lindor. Terrific start for McGill, and the Mets win it 5-4.
