Selena harmonizing is so adorable, the sign of a real singer! Love that for her!
Going to the toilet is better when you're absolutely desperate.
We're keeping it eyebrow, guys.
I want to introduce you to the Radio On listeners.
These are some of the best people in the world.
The Radio On listeners are the reason we get up and do these shows every day.
They come up with their unpopular opinions,
and really their task was to be on the radio and try and make you both laugh.
So we're going to do a theme tune.
There is a theme tune.
You have the lyrics there if you want to join in, that's fine.
This is also a radio show, but it is also a musical.
Much like your film, it's a surprise musical.
Okay.
I'll do the first one, you can join in.
Here we go.
Come and give us your unpopular opinion.
Something up till now that you've been scared to say.
See?
Yes.
Maybe the next time.
We'll do it a few times.
Come and give us your unpopular opinion.
Something up till now.
I don't know.
I can't do this.
We're jet lagged.
You're jet lagged.
Okay, we'll just go again.
You don't have to.
Come and give us your unpopular opinion.
Something up till now that you've been scared to say.
We did it!
I don't think we did, but it sounded good in my head.
It did sound good.
Sounded really good.
Gareth is first.
Oh boy.
I watch all TV shows and movies with subtitles.
Oh, okay.
I think that's okay.
Are you a subtitle watcher when you're watching a show?
I am.
I have to say, sometimes you're so tired that you just need that extra help for you to keep up.
I'm a daughter of immigrants that spoke a different language in the US,
so we had no choice but to watch everything with subtitles.
And then my husband is Italian, so everything has to have subtitles.
You're gonna have multiple screens with different versions on them.
We do, we do.
So Gareth, I feel like you've got someone in your life
who is saying that it's not okay to subtitle.
My partner didn't like them.
Oh God.
I'm sorry.
So what shows are you watching on subtitles?
Everything.
Apart from live TV, because you've got a lag there and I haven't got time for that.
Yeah, sport is tricky.
I always feel sorry for the people that are doing the live subtitles for sports.
Because sometimes there's always the risk of a typo.
Instead of saying, you know, they might be saying area or arena,
they say arse or something.
And then suddenly you're a meme and then you, you know, that kind of thing.
So yeah.
I love that.
I feel like we're all in agreement that it's fine.
It's totally fine.
I'm sorry that you're disappointed.
Did you want us to get angry with you?
No, I did a little bit.
Yeah, I didn't really want everyone to agree.
Okay, Gareth, when you ask for it, Selena,
can you tell him to just go away as rude as you like?
Oh my goodness.
Honestly, grow up.
I'll try my best, Selena.
Thank you.
Off you go now.
Right.
Let's go again with another.
Just grow up, please.
Whatever.
Okay, we sing and come and give us your popular opinion.
Something up to now that you've been here to say.
Excellent.
I said like, it's getting better.
Georgia.
I don't like cups of tea.
Oh, that is.
You don't like what?
Cups of tea.
Oh, okay.
I was like, I was gonna ask for subtitles there.
I don't really care for it.
The thing is, so I think, I'm an anomaly.
I'm a British anomaly in that I hate tea.
And to the point where if you say that,
it's one of the most controversial things you can say as a British person,
because I've had people messaging in the show saying,
I'm gonna no longer listen to you anymore
because I can't bear that you don't like tea,
which is like the national drink.
And Georgia, I'm so pleased to find someone else who's a Brit
who doesn't like it.
Why don't you like it?
Honestly, I think it's my mum growing up.
She just drank like 10, 15 cups a day.
And it's just, I've seen too much of it in my life.
I don't need that now I'm grown up.
Selina, it's not anything, is it?
To me, it's only if I'm really sick.
And I think it's because I trick myself into thinking
tea is going to heal my sickness.
Yeah.
It's true.
But I don't know.
It's just never been my cup of tea.
Thank you.
And we agree with you, Georgia,
because tea without the milk and sugar is a bit,
you know, boring and flat.
Except if you're in Morocco and you're having that mint tea
that they do where they put a lot of sugar
and it's just so delicious.
And I've never had anything so yummy before.
Oh, yeah.
Then I can do that.
But I think for the most part, I agree with you too about tea.
Georgia, don't feel alone anymore.
When you say this with your workmates or your friends
in this country, I know that they will,
they'll try and ostracize you.
But just know you're normal to us.
You're normal.
You are normal to us.
Thank you for your truth.
Thanks, Georgia.
Have a good day.
OK, let's go again.
Oh, gosh.
Do you want to go?
Oh, no.
Selina's got her head in her hands.
OK.
Come and give us your unpopular opinion.
Something up till now that you've been scared to say.
You were harmonizing.
I tried to.
Oh, my God.
I love that.
I don't think I was.
This is the thing about performance,
high level performance.
You can't help yourselves.
You can't help but harmonize.
It was amazing, wasn't it?
Can I have a bit more me in my ears, please?
No, totally.
Can you turn the monitors up, please?
Alex, what are you saying?
Going to the toilet is better when you're absolutely desperate.
We're keeping it eyebrow, guys.
We keep it eyebrow on this show.
Thoughts, please.
Wow, this could get graphic.
So I'm going to try to find the balance.
You don't need to find the balance.
I would say that it is a little bit more satisfying when you're completely ready.
Yes.
And it's ready.
I think actually a lot more people than you think will relate to that.
You know what's not cool is when you are on a time crunch
and you know that from now, you don't know when the next time
you're going to have the opportunity to go to the bathroom.
So you kind of go, maybe I should just go now.
But you're not fully ready.
And that becomes the most time consuming sort of situation.
When you have to really go, but not go in that sense.
You just have to go, right?
Yeah.
This show is three and a half hours straight through every day.
And there's, so we play a couple of songs back to back,
maybe three maximum back to back.
And that would only give me six or seven minutes.
Oh, no.
Tough.
So you just go when you really have to go.
When I have to.
I respect it.
I also, here's another, I don't know why this is popped into my head,
but I don't think I've ever said this,
but I've always been obsessed with tennis players
because, you know, at Wimbledon, they always have like a,
they have a comfort break,
but you've got 20,000 people who know what you're doing back there.
They're like, and you basically got people just chanting
for you to get back onto the court.
That's got to be the most stressful.
Little bit.
Because they know why the tennis player's not there.
He's having a dump.
They know why.
Tell me this, if it's not too much of a personal question,
does it help you perform if you really need a wee?
Does it give you a sort of a level of intensity?
Because I know some people are a bit like,
I'll do it after I've done the big scene or I've done the big performance.
I definitely have said that and regretted it.
Have you?
Yeah, I've been like, my reward is going to be peeing.
And boy, does that not do anything other than make me terribly uncomfortable.
So, but it doesn't give you a little extra something?
No, I'll say for me, it just makes me want to finish the scene.
Actually, that is really great.
Except when you've, you know, after you've had children,
when you have to go, you absolutely have to go.
There's not like, oh, wait until, you know, we reach the next, you know, stop or,
or when we finish this scene or you, it's like you have to run.
If not, things are going to happen.
So Alex, is it a sense of danger that you like?
That's it.
It's the sense of danger.
You know, I'm a driver.
When you're sat in traffic, it's a bit of a risk.
It's true.
That relief you get when you know you're there.
Honestly, thank you for making me laugh today.
As long as you also promise that you don't speed when you have to go, okay?
Yeah, I'll certainly try.
Although it's quite a fun game, isn't it?
On UK Motorways, you're like, oh, the service is 23 miles.
Can I, and the next one is 50.
Can I do 50 or should I do 23?
The hard shoulder is always there, Greg.
Oh God, yeah.
Oh my God.
Alex, thank you so much.
Thank you.
Before you go, do you have any unpopular opinions of your own?
Miss pineapple on pizza over here, I just found out.
That's not my thing at all.
Like you agree with my husband.
Guys, the Hawaiian pizza is so good because it's a meal and dessert at the same time.
That just confuses me.
It is too confusing.
In fact, do you know, weirdly, a couple of weeks ago, we had a caller on called Emma
who said that her thing was a Hawaiian but with no ham and she's pineapple with onion
and barbecue sauce.
That's too much.
No, no, no, no, no.
I don't think you're in any position to judge.
Also, I'm sensing these are all margarita pizzas here.
I mean, I like pepperoni.
For me, a New York slice.
Yeah, that's the best.
Nothing beats a New York slice.
That is true.
With pineapple and ham, by the way.
Are you ordering that in a proper Italian pizza place?
They will never do that.
My husband has told me, he tells me as soon as we land in Italy, before we leave the airport,
he's like, do not ask for pineapple on the pizza, please.
So I never do when we visit.
You march immediately out of the country.
You're sent to France immediately.
I think with that sort of thing.
Thank you so much for being on.
Zoe, great to meet you.
Thank you.
Nice to meet you too.
And congratulations with the movie.
It is going to be a smash and I think it's going to win awards.
Although I don't want to jinx it.
Oh my god, thank you.
From your mouth to God's ears.
We'll see you soon.
Thanks so much.
Thank you.
