Osvaldo Bito who has been slicing
and dicing folks coming off
another solid outing for the
right hander that was against
the pillows and he misses badly
there.
Josh Smith draws the one Rangers
are last in the league in walks
they're averaging just two walks
a game but they get a lead off
walk here and here is Langford
one strike.
That one lined out to right
field a base hit Smith stops at
second and the Rangers have the
first two men on two on with
nobody out for Corey Seager and
that was the whole point of the
lineup changes get Corey up with
men on base and he throws and
Seager it's a ground ball and
it's backhand at first by Soto
and click the second for one and
that's all they get.
But they cut down the runner at
second Langford first and third
and one out for Adoles Garcia.
He's hitting two sixteen four
homers nine RBI Smith to Adoles
he hammers that down the third
baseline and that is a fair ball
and bangs around down there in
the corner.
Smith is in Seager pulls up at
third on the Garcia double and
the Rangers draw first blood
here in Sacramento.
Here is Simeon with men at
second and third the former
athletic faces an infield that
is drawn way in one two and that
one is hit out to center Lede
in his position to make the
catch Seager tags.
He heads to the plate the throws
cut off so a Simeon sacrifice
fly makes it a two run first.
So three and two to Butler
leading off in the bottom of the
first he's batting to 80 with
two homers and five RBI.
Well the good thing is is the
Rangers starting pitchers have
been going so deep in games he
had a day off yesterday.
So your pen is very fresh.
If they do work Corbin's pitch
count up and he can only give
you four or five.
And Butler has a great
professional take it three and
two and we'll get a board to
lead off block Soto shrimp
Butler going throw down from
Higashioka is a short hop and
Seager won't even have time to
apply a tag Butler loses helmet
diving in head first and steals
second base ground ball right
side of the infield Simeon
throws out Soto shrimp two away
but the stolen base allows
Butler to get the third.
He is a dangerous hitter but he
hits it on the ground right to
Simeon.
There's hardly anybody better in
the business.
He throws him out and the
inning is done.
And to hard leads out for the
spotter with a second a trail to
two nothing to two to two on
Duhar he lifts it to deep left
Langford going back at the track
at the La Duhar leaves the
building and makes it two to one
Rangers.
It just kept tearing and Langford
kept going back and the ball
appears to be carrying to left
field tonight.
Another P.T. Lewis got him
shades of heat on Boca Chica
Wyatt Langford to get things
started here for the Rangers who
are up two to one Wyatt single
that into right center his first
time up and moving Marcus Simeon
to the number five spot.
And there is a shot deep left
field and Duhar can do nothing
about it.
It's off the clubhouse building
home run for Wyatt Langford and
a poke at that his fifth of the
season the Rangers lead it three
to one way clobbered that cutter
hit it at one hundred one miles
an hour.
He got tremendous height on it
as well as that pitch hung right
in the middle of the strike zone
about belt high traveled an
estimated four hundred and three
feet on Butler walked and stole
the base his first time up.
Fly ball right center field
Smith on the run at the track.
Has left the building Butler
mixes it up around the base
past his third home run of the
year.
It's run number two of the game
for the A's and back and forth
we go.
It's three to two Rangers now.
I mean that sounded crispy
coming off the bat in the log
on.
How many can he get.
Oh two line drive off the
leaping glove of Simeon he
played it perfectly flips off
of his glove and into center
Langeleer's reaches that is
strike three called and do are
down looking for strikeout for
Corbin.
Well this pitch is perfection
right here at ninety three miles
an hour the balls from the left
side a ball the whole way
Langley's breaking for second a
swing and a miss throw down to
second base is late as it's
short hop Seager again.
He had to recover the baseball
that swiped the tag but by then
Langeleer's was in diving head
first safely double play would
get Corbin out of the inning.
Here's the pitch to Wilson out
of an extreme open stance and he
two hops young at third to
second one to first late.
Nice pick by Josh Young on a
ball that took a tricky hop on
him.
He got the middle man and there
are runners at first and third
now with two outs and it's up to
Gio Urshela one to.
And that one lifted out to
right field Garcia makes the
catch in the inning is done.
Rangers on top of the score of
three to two in West Sacramento
Smith walked and scored in the
first flight out in the second
and he hits out a ton high in
the air deep out to right.
And that one is gone into the
bullpen and Josh Smith hits his
second home run of the year and
extends that Rangers lead it's
four to two.
Well you had a feeling about
Josh Smith before this game and
he gets a fastball here middle
middle.
He doesn't miss it.
And this ball is hit high and
you can see those flags blowing.
He gets it into the bullpen for
a homer.
Simeon has a sacrifice fly in a
wolf Seager's at second Adolis
is at first that ball smoked
deep out to left field.
Will it have enough.
It's gone.
Simeon smashes a three run shot
and the Rangers open it's one
up.
It's their biggest offensive
night of the season now seven to
two that traveled an estimated
four hundred and seventeen feet.
It's a four RBI game for Simeon.
He joins Adolis in the 10 RBI
club for the year.
Beto's still out there for the
A's first pitch to Berger is hit
high and deep into center field
today going back.
He's at the track.
He's at the wall.
He leaps and it's gone.
Jake Berger hits the first pitch
of the sixth inning out of here.
His third home run of the year
Rangers lead it eight to two and
yet another lead off home run
for the Rangers their third year
today.
First time this season the
Rangers with four home runs in a
game.
One back up the middle.
But Jacob Wilson plays the
shortstop while the race is on
and Wilson wins it at second
base.
There was some interesting stuff
that happened to Corey Seager to
end the top of the sixth inning
as he's coming out of the box.
Look at this Dallas.
Yeah a little pull up and you
can see him reach right behind
that right leg.
And that is not what you want to
see.
It's a guy who's had issues in
this department before for Corey
Seager that right hamstring is
going to be something they're
going to have to keep an eye on.
All right the lefty Hoby Milner
coming on here for the Rangers
coming into a situation where
his team has a comfortable six
run lead.
But here's a guy who is a
dangerous hitter.
Lawrence Butler the one to
swing and a miss struck him out
got him with a change up.
The only one he threw in that
at bat and Butler is out on
strikes.
No runs two hits three or left
Rangers on top here eight to the
day six hits in his last 20 at
bats Milner at the belt.
Now the plate in the pitch
sweepers one little pop line of
down the left field line might
be trouble.
It's going to fall fair down the
line for a base hit.
Rooker will score on Duarte a
second.
It's now eight to three a little
bleeder down the left field line
and for Bleda that's his 11th
RBI of the year.
That'll bring up Urias and he'll
crack this one a deep left
retreating is Langford and it's
gone.
Luis Urias a solo home run and a
little bit of noise coming in
the bottom of the eighth inning.
It's now eight to four.
So here's Rooker is one for
three with a walk and Webb
delivers.
This is thrilled to left center.
This is way back.
Langford will turn and watch it
fly.
Rooker hits it out to left
center home run derby tonight
and now the Israel eight five.
How many home runs is that
tonight Mr. Adasco eight home
runs tonight for four.
He's one.
Here's Bleda.
He's two for three.
So the A's down to their final
out bouncer second base.
And that'll do it.
Ledei retired on three
groundouts.
Luke Jackson makes it look easy
in the ninth inning and the
Rangers with an eight five win
to open this series.
Well this was a great overall
team win and the offense showed
up in a big way.
The best offensive performance
by the Rangers this year in the
bullpen pitched out of some jam.
