On this special day, we gather together to reflect on a monumental act of human conscience, the peaceful appeal of April 25th, 1999, which took place 26 years ago. On April 25th, 1999, over 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners from across China, upholding the principles of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance, voluntarily gathered outside the State Council's Appeals Office in Zhongnanhai in Beijing. They stood quietly and orderly, peacefully expressing their hope that the government would end the unjust treatment against them and allow the legal environment to practice Falun Gong. When they left, even cigarette butts dropped by police officers were picked up. The area was left spotless as if no one had ever been there. However, this peaceful and rational appeal provoked the intense jealousy and fear of then Chinese Communist Party leader, Jiang Zemin. He insisted on launching a full-scale suppression, declaring, we'll defeat Falun Gong in order that practitioners be, quote, ruined in reputation, bankrupt financially and destroyed physically, end quote. In the past 26 years since the 4.25 incident, the Dharma disciples all over the world have maintained the principles of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance, practicing the Dharma and treating all sentient beings well, without fear of the CCP's rampant persecution and suppression, and have embarked on a non-stop rational and peaceful path of telling the truth for 26 years. The Dharma disciples follow the teachings of the Master, using reason to verify the Dharma, using wisdom to tell the truth, using compassion to spread the Dharma and save the world, creating all opportunities to tell the precious truth to the world, exposing the CCP's evil and lies, In the 26 years since the 4.25 incident, Falun Dafa practitioners around the world have continued to uphold their beliefs in truthfulness, compassion and forbearance, despite the overwhelming persecution by the Chinese regime. They have walked a long, unwavering path of peaceful truth clarification, following the teachings of their Master, validate the Dharma with rationality, clarify the truth with wisdom, and spread the Dharma and save people with compassion. Falun Dafa practitioners have used every opportunity to tell people the facts, expose the CCP's lies and brutality, and share the beauty of their faith.
