An exhibition featuring European antiques from the 19th and early 20th century has opened
in Lanzhou, the capital of northwest Gansu province. The exhibition, which features antiques
selected from the Shanghai Museum, is part of the city's New Year celebrations.
China View takes a closer look.
The exhibition, which opened on New Year's Day in the Provincial Museum of Gansu, showcases
96 pieces of glass and ceramics designed and manufactured by renowned European artisans
in the late 19th to early 20th century.
The items have been selected from a 2,000-piece collection at the Shanghai Museum and feature
the style and aesthetics of different countries such as France, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden.
The exhibition also demonstrates the evolution of the glass and ceramic production in the
European continent more than a century ago.
I've just seen the exhibition and I think it's really impressive. I have a really busy
job so taking some time out to see this exhibition has really opened my eyes.
The exhibition will last until March 28th. Museum curators are preparing to receive a
large number of visitors during the Spring Festival holiday.
