I finally got rid of Fungus gnats in my grow tent. Update on some indoor plants. How I deal with mealy bug and a show and tell on How and When to plant those tricky succulent baby leaves. #garden #leafpropagation #succulent
What you doing there baby pea? Mommy's potting up and this budgie. Look,
do you want to join in? You always want to get involved with whatever mommy's doing.
I've been trying to get rid of my fungus gnats inside this grow tent. Well, first of all,
would you like to see some plants that have been tortured for a while? Poor Manjula,
look what happened to you. But it's growing still. So the end is still good. I could actually chop,
chop, chop that now. And so healthy tips at the end. Hang on. I just need to reduce this.
There you go. Is that better? Now we can see better and we can talk better. Now,
this Tradescantia Pink Lady is very, very pink, but anyway, not very pink. Normally it's much
pinkier than that, but I think it's tending to, see like those sides there? It's still pink,
but that's the pinkness we want, a bit more white. So we need to expose this wee. Yeah,
you're, you're part of it because you inspire me. And then anyway, the Mealybug has been very
active lately in here. See, look, there's still remnants of Mealybug there, that's white fluff.
So if you grow your plants, whether it's succulents or indoor plants, there's a white
thing flying around here. It's actually not, or my fungus gnats has gone variegated.
Okay. So let's go back to the fungus gnats. I've been trying, look, hang on, wait a minute.
I don't know if you can see that white thing flying around. So it's a variegated fungus gnats.
Gone. I got it. Now that's the only one I've seen so far. And I actually hold off on watering
this area for a long time. When I say a long time, I did not water it for about two weeks
until, but I kept checking though. I kept checking whether the plants are still dead or alive. And
my Nanook here has started flowering. It's just beautiful. It's a beautiful plant.
And they're actually time to take this outside and repot it because it's just growing on
coco coir, coconut coir, is that coconut coir or maybe peat moss. Recently bought this before
even this poor thing has suffered being here, but it has grown. It's grown a couple of
millimeters since I got it. Well, it was diameter wise, it was like a $2 coin, but now it's gone
past the $2 coin size. It's heading towards the $1 coin. That's the Australian gold coin.
A lot of these plants are still alive, but barely because I have to hold off watering.
Let me go back to that. There's so many things I need to do. I need to take this out. But anyway,
I'm jumping from one hoop to another. And after I stopped watering for about a couple of weeks
and a lot of the plants actually looking worse for wear, especially this Manjula and also this
one, this Terrescantia Fluminescens or Fluminosa, what are you? You have something.
This was covered by mealybug and I have to physically remove manually every single leaf.
I have to check, turn it over like this to see if there's mealybugs still there. There must be some
that are still hiding. Hang on, wait a minute. See this one, see this white stuff here?
Okay, that is, yep, that was a mealybug. They're trying to survive. And so the big fluffy cottony
stuff mostly gone. Probably there's one here I missed. Look, there you go. So they're starting
again. And the only way I could stop this is if I take this out and hose it all down and grow this
outside. Isn't that beautiful? Then it will get rid of the mealybug. Now, as far as the fungus gnats,
I have never seen so many dead fungus gnats after two weeks of, look at that, they're all committed
suicide squad. Look at that, all dead. Can you see them once? Especially here.
Look, so this is yesterday. I opened this and they're all dead. But actually, I hold off on
watering for about two weeks. And after two weeks, I saw that a lot of the plants are struggling. So
you can see to that point. And so I watered it and it's like overnight magic. All these new shoots
started coming out. Plus, it's also, hang on, I'll move this one. This is my pink princess.
Look, my pink princess is going. Look at that, isn't that beautiful? Gorgeous. But anyway,
I need to clean them up. Hang on, this one too, I'll show you. This orchid. Ludicia, this color,
look at that. It's flowering. Do you have a scent? No, but it's just beautiful. So, and it's got,
I still haven't changed the soil because when I got this, it was a little bit late already in the
season. Hang on, I'll move you there. My Philodendrum subistatum is growing as well. So, and this one
here, what are you doing there? Hang on, I'll just move you. Oh, my cactus. So, okay. It's forecast
rain, rain, rain, rain, rain for a very long while. La Nina, round three apparently. So,
all of this now I really have to empty and take it out. And I don't want to, hang on, see, see,
mealybug. But you really have to physically check your plant and take them out. Tweesa is good for
plucking them out. Look, that's what I have to attend to that. So, oh, look at this one. This one
has grown. Look. So, this is grafted onto this tropical cactus. I'll put it there. And, oh,
look at them. They're so, I should really do a moon cactus video, innit? They are, I think,
the easiest, in my opinion, to grow. And you can, so look, I bought it for $15 and I still
haven't removed the label. And that thing has grown an offshoot really quickly. And look,
there's roots. So, if I cut that there, let it dry for, say, a week and then stick it in soil,
moist soil, I'm sure that will grow. And then you can cut it in sections. So,
anywhere that there's root, you can have a few plants. Forgot to check my Marble Queen. The
Marble Queen, oh, look at them. Oh, so, so, so, so healthy. Look at that. That's three plants
that I bought from Ikea. And when I got them, they weren't very expensive. I think $7 or $8
or something like that, if I can remember correctly. And then now, because they were
only, like, tiny back then. Now, look at them. See this vanilla plant? I gotta move you over here.
Okay. So, everything has to have a moving day or moving out day. Hang on, I'll put the other one
back, Marble Queen. And this is already dry again after just two days, less than two days of
watering. So, they do love water. And for the first time, my, look at that, look how long,
that's like a dinosaur, isn't it? What do you call that thing? Desert Rose, Adenium, I think that's
what it's called. It's about to flower. It's been budding up for a couple of years, but it never
opened up, it never bloomed. So, hopefully, this will bloom. So, I'm still gonna leave that there
for a few days and wait for the bloom. I would love to see your bloom. Now, in this corner,
I've got all my leaf propagations. Now, this is the 6th of September that I removed my, what are you?
A Mestral. It was rotting, so I had to separate it because it was new babies coming out. But I
thought I'll just save the big leaves, don't want to throw it out, just hopefully it will grow some
new plants. But I think only maybe this one, two and three, and even the small ones might grow.
But the rest, I don't know. 27th of the 8th, so this is August, about two, three weeks. This is now
September 14th. Look what happened, a baby! It's got a baby coming out. So, so far, I think I can't
see clearly. There's a pimple coming out. So, maybe, and also a couple of roots. So, we'll leave it as
is. Oh, but that one, are you? There's another baby head. Look, another baby coming out. So,
Graptosedum mule, easy to grow. Now, my experimented seed-grown Lavender Pebbles that
has been exposed to all the bugs in here, that half of it has gone green. The other half is
pink and lavender-ish color. And the other half of it is dying. Look, just one plant, that's just
only one plant, but it's grown so many babies. But I've been harvesting the leaves like so,
because I would be interested to see what will grow out of this. And just look, even when you
shake off the leaf a little bit, I've chopped off the top and there's new
pups or pimples growing up the top of that. And then this one, I'll add it to my mix here. These
are all the deformed, okay, I might as well remove. Some of them will grow, just roots.
But, of course, you've seen a lot of them will grow heads. Now, this one, I chopped that off
and it's really, really, really dry. It almost looks like a Bill Gates
plant that's being sold around. Anyway, oh, see that one, it's just sitting on top of the soil
and it's growing roots and babies. So, it's very easy to grow Lavender Pebbles. I have to be
specific because some plants grow fast, some grow slow. Now, this is my Maria, March 2021.
So, JA. I went to buy this in March last year and it hasn't grown. It grew, but then it started
rotting, loosing, well, it got affected by the frost. So, I removed the leaves and how many
leaves is that? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, it used to be 8, but the budgie ate the other one.
And this one has grown really long roots, but no baby. And this one here looks like,
it might, there's one root and also a little red pimple budding up. So, hopefully,
that will be another plant, but some plants are really slow and some plants are fast.
Over here are, okay, I'll just move this other one here. This is a Kalanchoe Robusta. You move there.
It almost sounds like a coffee, Robusta. It's just a Robusta coffee, but anyway.
This is Egg Tart on the 31st of May, 2022 is when I removed the leaves and I let them grow
like these ones here. Once they start growing roots like this and babies, I put them in the
soil. So, the minute I saw roots sticking out, that's when I put in soil, okay? So, no roots,
you can just lay it on top, but you can't water it. You have to let the plant grow some roots
to crawl out slowly. So, in here, I got Egg Tart, which is the 31st of May. So, June, July, August,
so three months, three and a half months almost. Now, the Lawi was on the 2nd of May that was
plucked from a leaf. And now, look at it. So, it's only that much and I still have the leaf attached.
I could remove that, but I don't really like touching them. I let them do their own thing.
And then, this one is Avangard. It's got one, two, three, four. I'll just remove this. I only caught
three or four fungus gnats out of this. Never mind, but anyway, this one is Avangard. The 12th of July
is when I plucked the leaves. And so far, I got one, two, three, four. I have more Avangard growing,
which is somewhere here, if I could find it. But, I think that one, there you go. So, more Avangard.
So, this is the 12th of the 7th. Yep, same date. And now, see, if there are no roots, like say these ones,
I don't put them in or... Now, this one is ready to be placed in here. So, there's a spot
somewhere. Okay, I'm just going to put this. This is actually my cat little soil mix
and they seem to be loving it. So, hang on. I just loosen up the dirt a little bit and there you go.
And this now, since the soil is still pretty wet, because I just watered this two nights ago, not
last night, the other night. So, I let the surface dry up first, once the surface dries up. And I also
like to feel the weight of the pot to see if it's light or heavy. And if it's light, then I water
and also the top dry, I water. But if not, I don't. Now, this one here, I'm really interested
in seeing. Oh, this one, Vient. Vient, this is actually a long time. So, February or the longest,
I would say. February is when I remove the leaves and let them grow naturally. So, one, two, three,
four, Vient. And that one, are you a plant or a weed? I'm not too sure about that one there.
Now, this one here is a hairy plant that's grown from a seed somewhere, got blown off somewhere.
It was actually far away from where the mother plant is. And now, it's grown. So, grown from seed
by nature. And I just harvested it and transplanted it here because I don't want it to die. Now,
there's different plants here. So, I put mix. That one is maybe a canicola. This one is a lovely rose
and that variegated one there. Although, I put jelly jam. I'm not too sure whether that's a jelly
jam. See, half variegated. Can you see that one there? And maybe it's an Ixana. And the center one
is my Gomez. Formerly, I called it Gomez. And I got a one, two, three, four, five. Now, with this
one, you can see that there's still no roots. And I already put it here because the plant itself,
it's very hard to explain how to know which plant can handle being watered without the
leaves rotting and which ones will. But, seems like any Graptopetalum, if you expose it to water,
any fat leaf plants, like say even the Egtartia, they seem to rot if you water them if they don't
have roots. Yet, the other Echeveria, oh, this is also a Graptopetalum, sorry, still loving you,
with a long pointy leaf. Because of the texture of the leaf, I can tell or more like a feeling
that that will take watering even though it doesn't have any roots yet. So, there you go. So,
this one now, I have to remember to put this another two, hang on, that one, see? Which way
is up? Sometimes you grow it that way and the plant will grow from the top or sometimes it
grows from the bottom. But, in planting it, so this is now upside down. So, that one is right
way up. So, this one, okay. So, that one's growing. See the spoon shape of the leaf and the roots are
in the bottom and the plant on top and the other one, hang on, is reverse. So, that's the top part.
So, when it was growing, it was growing that way. It wasn't growing that way. So, that's facing the
sun and yet this one has grown reverse. So, there's no way of telling which side is the right
way up or the wrong way down. But anyway, now if I just leave that there, they will just naturally
crawl into the soil and eventually set themselves, you know, set up shop basically. That's what we say.
So, it will crawl itself into the soil and grow because it wants to grow. The plant doesn't want
to die. It wants to grow. So, anyway, the other one, I already dug it in and the rest here, see
these ones are just roots and that one is also roots. So, now I'll put this one back here and I just
have to remember which is which and this Lilacina, which is the 11th of the 3rd, 2022. So, March 11th
is when I pluck the leaves and this one, we can see that I don't have a Lilacina yet
and all just roots. So, it can also happen like that wherein no babies will grow from it. So, it all
depends on the plant and so that one's all roots and this one, my Amaville, also known as strawberry
cake, is no roots yet but a lot of pimple. Look how pretty it looks. Oh, so delicious. Look at that.
Oh, there's roots. Yes, I lied but most of them are just pimple. Look, there's a plant in there.
This one does have root but this one is actually an old one. I removed this from the plant itself.
I already found it with a baby and look how cute and pink that baby is. Look at that. Now, the rest
and look more budding up. Oh, this is so exciting and this is only August 19th. So, almost a month.
In five days time, it will have come full circle one month and that one, yes, that one's got roots
and also a little baby on top. So, anyway guys, that's all we have for this video. I'm gonna go
have a coffee now and a little roll-up baklava. I'm not gonna show you that but anyway. Oh,
this one too, my Graptopetalum. Superb! Look, it's even, this is the variegated one. Now,
it's got one variegated leaf and that one, I can't see yet whether it's variegated. It looks
normal and then that other one looks variegated as well and the rest of it, some's got roots
and others did not produce. This one as well, it's only got roots. So, that has roots but
no cigar yet. Anyway, that's all we have for this video guys. I'll see you on the next video.
Oh, Romeo! I have to report my big Romeo. These are babies that need to be harvested as well.
Okay, you're gonna help me here? I'm just gonna look.
Mommy, one-hand magician and this thing is spinning around, baby Pipi.
Baby Pipi, look. I'm just gonna pull these plants out of here. Okay. Okay, now you want that one?
Okay, have some decomposed granite.
You just want to get involved all the time, aren't you? Oh, look at you. Okay, back here.
Yes, we have to mix it all in and then mommy put her soil in.
Yeah, you help? So, we'll help. Yeah, okay, you help.
Oh, tops.
Okay, your tops. Oh, it's top. It's not tops. Okay. Okay, I won't put the camera. Mommy gonna
continue this? Okay. Oh, look how pretty these plants are, Pedro. Oh, look how pretty these
plants are. Oh, it's not. Okay, you want attention. Okay, I stop now. I stop. I stop.
Okay, you pretty boy. Are you a pretty boy? Look. Hello, pretty boy. Hey, pretty boy. You spoiled
boy. Okay, kiss mommy. Kiss mommy. Kiss. I can't reach you. Okay, kiss that one.
Kiss. Come on, kiss it. Okay, that's enough now.
