Hi there guys, welcome back to another episode here on Alio Homes.
Today we are in the City Bowl in Cape Town on the neck of Table Mountain and Lion's Head,
overlooking the CBD with the Atlantic Ocean in front of me.
It's going to be a fabulous tour today, nothing like we've done on the channel before.
We're in a luxury villa with a rainforest environment.
And a little bit more about this house, it has four bedrooms, all en suite,
six bathrooms, can accommodate up to eight guests,
and is on the villa rental market for R85,000 in the off-peak season.
And R100,000 per night in the high season.
And I'd like to thank In Residence for bringing us out to Cape Town
to get this on the market for you guys.
All right, let's start the tour.
Beautiful brickwork to my left and immediately the vegetation starts,
beautiful granite, natural granite stone flooring which leads up to the house.
And it's the same flooring which we've been seeing quite a lot in Cape Town recently,
and it continues throughout the house.
Just like to point this out, to my left is a very long driveway.
It's hedged beautifully.
It leads down to the garage and one of the guest suites below.
All right guys, let's head up the stairs.
Immediately you can see it's a very unique property,
very different architectural lines and design.
And this door is amazing, solid cast iron pivot door.
Let's go inside.
So stepping on inside to this beautiful entrance foyer,
immediately we notice the tranquility of this space with the lovely granite stone flooring
continuing up the flamed steps in front of me.
But before we get there, I'd like to talk about this wall.
Again, we saw it on the outside and again it continues here, beautifully laid.
Just giving us the reminder of the Cape Town...
What did you call it, Chris?
The historical features in Cape Town.
Right, there we go.
So this is reminding us of the historic nature of Cape Town and nice greenery again.
And in front of me, beautiful bay window bringing in natural light into the space
with a lovely central courtyard garden over here, which we'll explore later in the tour.
Moving forward to my right is the staircase,
which takes us to the bedroom quarters.
We'll get there later.
But first, let's move on up these beautiful staircase,
leading us to the open plan living area.
Starting with this art design over here.
A lovely polished copper with iron plates.
It looks beautiful with the LED shining on it.
And to my left, beautiful pot plants.
But besides that, we've got the off shutter concrete feature.
Just showing the...
It's just a beautiful feature wall and it's showing the wooden grains that were used.
I love it.
I think Sayota love that design quite a lot.
We see that in many of their houses.
And right now we're standing in the formal dining room
and it flows into the kitchen that way.
But we're going to go this way first.
And but before we actually go, I want to talk about the roof design.
It's a very unique roof design in this house.
It allows natural lighting from all areas,
but it also gives you a view of Lion's Head,
of Table Mountain and the CBD with the Atlantic Ocean,
all at the same time from anywhere you...
Mostly anywhere you stand in this upstairs space.
Just bringing the natural environment into the house.
And I think that's how the house was designed by Sayota
to allow us to feel in touch with nature from every angle.
And you can see the sun from when it's out.
We're here in autumn right now.
But when the sun is out, you'll see it from any angle.
And the moon as well.
So just flowing with the seasons and with the time of day.
So moving forward.
Beautiful dining room table.
Very cozy seating area over here.
We've got some storage to my left.
And flowing this way, we have a home office
with a sliding door separating the space.
Just stepping down into it at the back of the property.
Perfectly situated as a home office.
But it also leads into the courtyard garden.
Bring fresh air into the house.
And the fresh air in this house really does flow right through
because all the doors open up.
And coming this way,
we'll look at the first guest powder room of the home.
Lovely washed out oak pivot door
flowing into a beautiful vanity station
clad in a beautiful black marble mirror backdrop.
And the toilet tucks away nicely to my left.
Stepping on out of the powder room.
Now we're going to walk into the kitchen.
Just follow me through.
And as we walk, it's amazing that view
off of the rim flow pool.
And I talk about the ceiling again over here,
cladded with this wonderful washed out oak.
And it just goes so perfectly in this house.
With the lighting.
And we've got surround sound as well.
All right, so stepping into the kitchen,
we have this marble island breakfast bar seating area.
And stepping on in, we've got the pantry to my left.
We've got the sink.
We've got our built-ins over here.
Microwave, two ovens, fridge and freezer.
I like to take the camera's attention
to this polished brass countertop surface.
Very unique.
And I love the cabinetry that goes with it.
Moving this way, we have a pizza oven to my right.
And it does flow down into the lounge.
Maybe I will go around that way and I'll see you there.
Nice seating area over here.
And just check those doors opening right up.
I just love it.
I'm literally seeing the Atlantic Ocean and the CBD.
Table Mountain and Lion's Head.
I've got the cross through breeze.
Loving it.
Going down these steps into the formal lounge area.
And to my left is a very cozy informal lounge area.
The fireplace, perfect on a day like today,
keeping it super cozy.
Just setting the atmosphere and the tone for this house.
It gives off a nice rainforest feel in here.
When we arrived at the property, it was actually raining
and the clouds were completely covering the house
and it just looked so cool.
So here's the beautiful pool.
Let's step on outside.
We've got two decks that kind of cantilever
over the pool a little bit.
And we've just got this rim flow edge pool
separating the CBD from the natural environment and the house.
And it just breaks that perfectly.
I love it.
Stepping up to this deck.
You might notice in front of me for you foodies out there,
we've got one of those big green eggs,
which are perfect for smoking meat.
If you're into that, you'll know what I'm talking about.
But again, just like the trees and the nature.
I love it.
It's very unique.
We've never been on this side of the mountain.
Well, we have been in Constantia,
but this is like sort of in the middle
compared to where we usually are.
And again, just this vegetation, rainforest feel.
And stepping on inside,
I'm just noticing that inverted pyramid roof again.
Big props to Sayota for such a magnificent, unique design.
And it just fits in perfectly with this house.
And with that, that does finish this floor.
And now I'll see you downstairs on the bedrooms level.
Coming down the flamed granite staircase
to the second level of the home.
We've got bedrooms on this level,
and it's also open plan.
Beautiful koi pond and zen garden to my right,
which we'll get to in a moment.
But first, I want to take us this way to the first bedroom.
Come with me.
Stepping on into the first bedroom,
we've got a very large pivot door over here
and the ensuite is over there,
but we'll get there in a moment.
First, let's step down.
And the granite continues into the room
all the way to the soft carpet.
We've got built-ins to my left.
A lovely desk setup over here
with the washed oak again.
I love the map.
I always love maps.
And we've got a massive window.
And these curtains are automated
at the touch of a button.
Beautiful tree outside.
We've got the bed in the center over here
with a feature wall.
Very large space.
I love the ceiling heights as well.
And it just smells lovely in here too.
All right, stepping on up.
Let's look at the bathroom.
This acts as a privacy wall,
but it's recycled wood.
It's a recycled wood, which is pretty cool.
We've got the bathtub over here to my left.
Single vanity station to my right,
floating with a mirror backdrop.
And we've got brass as well.
Brass detailings around.
Stepping this way, we've got the water closet
and a walk-in shower with a rain shower head
and a hand-curled shower.
All right, guys, stepping out of the en suite,
let's check the other bedroom.
After you.
Coming on out,
we've got some linen cupboards to the left
and stepping straight in to the secondary bedroom.
En suite to my right.
But first, we have the built-ins to my left
with curtains for privacy.
Fully automated curtains again to my right
over the window.
Again, one of those beautiful trees,
natural light flooding in.
And a four-poster bed for this time.
This room is a little smaller.
We have a dresser table over here
and the en suite single vanity station
floating with a nice marble top
and a marble backdrop there.
The brass detailing around the mirror
and a walk-in shower with a rain shower head.
One more to go.
All right, guys, let's step out of this room.
Now we're back in the open plan living space
and let's head down this way.
I don't actually know the name of this ladder.
If any of you do, please drop it
in the comment section below.
Chris, do you have any idea what this is called?
I'm sure that something like this has a name.
I've actually never seen one, but it's pretty cool.
Made from solid oak.
Very nice.
Very nice library.
And I'd like to point this out.
It's actually a model of the house
that we're in right now.
It seems like it could be an original.
It's pretty cool.
I just wanted to point that out.
Moving this way, I'd like to point out
this roaring fireplace.
Beautiful.
It's controlled by this remote.
Super easy.
It's fueled by those like wood fire pellets
and the black stone that they've used around.
Again, beautiful.
I love it.
All right, guys, stepping this way,
we can see the exposed concrete ceiling above,
which continues all the way from the stairs
down into the cozy family room over there,
which we'll get to in a moment.
But I'd just like to draw attention below me
to these massive timber planks,
which act as a bridge on this level.
But from below, there are really cool architectural design,
which we'll see there.
Behind me, lovely office, a marble table.
And I like the oak cabinetry that they have
with the artwork.
And now to my right, we've got this beautiful zen garden
with a koi pond.
I'm actually going to step on outside
to give you more of a feel.
Lovely stones.
And I'd also like to say that all the garden spaces
in this house are actually set on the mountain bed,
just connecting you to nature even more.
Beautiful water feature.
I love this tree right in the center,
which grows right up to the top level,
which you can see from above.
An amazing space, adding that tranquility
to this house experience.
Stepping back on inside, let's go have a look.
At this family TV room.
All the furniture in this house is bespoke made
by a company called Ocker.
And I must say, they've done a perfect job.
Fits into the space very nicely.
And we've got the garden out there.
Let's move on forward and have a little look.
These sliding doors do open up
pretty much all the way.
We had them closed just now because it was raining.
But let's just step on outside and have a look.
Beautiful bonsais lining up the pathway.
We've got the granite stepping stones
leading to a nice little alfresco seating area
overlooking the CBD, Signal Hill
and Table Mountain behind me.
And again, beautiful trees.
Stepping on inside.
This is the primary bedroom.
But before we explore that,
we have a mini bar station over here
with coffee, tea set up and fridge.
Now, this is the primary bedroom on this level.
These doors do open up all the way
and they also close all the way, separating the space.
Lovely furnishings in here.
The exposed concrete ceiling above.
To my left is the walk-in wardrobe with a sliding door
that we're gonna wrap around to the ensuite first.
But let's just talk about this bed a little bit more.
Beautiful featured wall behind, textured wallpaper.
And I love the artwork right in the center.
Giving a pop of color to the room.
And in front of me, the sliding doors open up,
connecting you to the garden, which we just explored.
All the curtains are automatic in here as well.
I think one way I used to identify ACO to home
is finding the most unique wallpapers behind the beds.
In the houses we've toured,
I've just noticed that every single-
They're also textured.
Yeah.
Yeah, beautifully.
Yeah, they definitely got a good eye for that.
So, stepping on up to the ensuite.
First thing you notice is it's super luxurious in here.
Beautiful freestanding bathtub with mirror featured walls
with marble running along the center.
And we've got a floating double vanity station.
Lovely marble.
We've got the brass detailing around the mirrors.
I love this space.
And it flows very nicely into the walk-in closet,
which we'll get to in a moment.
First, we have the walk-in shower,
cladded complete in the white marble.
And through this door is actually a walk-in water closet.
It's just a mirror and got the toilet there.
All right, stepping on out.
We'll check the walk-in wardrobe.
Very large space.
I love the mood lighting they have around the LED strips.
And it's all in the washed out oak again.
Nice ottoman right in the middle.
And that is the primary bedroom.
Let's step on outside and head to the staircase,
taking us to the lower level.
All right, guys, let's head downstairs.
And I'd like to bring this up now
because we can see it nicely next to me
is this beautiful window wall
that they've done here as a feature.
It's bringing a natural light to the space,
but just more than that,
it's connecting you to that zen garden
and the koi pond out there.
And also you've got a visual
on the reconstituted still screen
over there on the wall
where the vines are growing through it.
That is actually an original piece
from the original house
that was on this plot
before Sayota took on the project.
I thought that's an interesting detail
you might like to know.
All right, guys, let's head down the stairs
to the bottom level of the house.
Now I want us to look up
and you can see what I was talking about.
Those timber planks above
are such a cool architectural design on the ceiling.
They're bringing in light,
tiny bit of light to the space,
but it's just super unique.
Now it's very cozy down here.
We've got a cinema room and a gym room
and a guest suite.
On my right, it flows down nicely with some shelving.
We've got some more artwork over here
and we've got some washed out oak cabinetry
with some marble in there.
Looks fantastic.
All right, so over here on my right
is actually the fourth bedroom of the home.
Stepping on into the room,
immediately you were blessed
with this beautiful washed out oak cabinetry.
To my left, we have a little kitchenette area
as this is a proper guest suite.
We've got the granite stone flooring,
a four-poster bed,
and I like that they've got mood lighting
around on the ceiling.
Coming this way, the ensuite,
we have single vanity over here,
mirror with the brass detailing
and a walk-in shower to my left.
Stepping out of the bathroom,
let's head back to the hallway
where we can explore the rest of this level.
Through this door is actually a back entrance
from the driveway,
keeping it completely separate from the house.
Heading on out of this room,
we've got the garage to my right.
And now let's wrap around this way
to explore this area.
Stepping on down,
we've got solid wood flooring,
solid oak floorings throughout the space.
Over here in front of me is a laundry room,
but we're going to continue nonetheless.
To my left is a full bathroom.
We'll quickly check this one out.
Automatic lights, walk-in shower,
toilet over there,
and a little wash station over here,
mirror and the brass detailing
that we've been seeing in all the bathrooms.
This lovely marble backdrop
he's putting in every shower.
Yeah, it is lovely.
And in the primary bedroom,
it was fully cladded in the same marble.
And why is there a full shower down here?
Because we have a home gym,
fully equipped.
We've got the mirror walls around.
Very nice space.
And it has garden access as well.
Should I tell them about this, Chris?
You can go for it.
I think they need to know.
Well, when I originally came into the house,
first came in,
I was looking this way
and I did not know that that was a piece of glass.
And I walked straight into it.
Wait, I think your face mark is maybe still on there.
Can we get it?
Yes, you can see it.
There we go.
I was just walking like this
and I went doosh into this window.
Chris thought that was the funniest thing.
Obviously, I didn't think it was very funny.
But anyways, it continues.
The wall wraps around with a lovely wallpaper.
It's textured and it continues
on all the walls in this room.
And here we are.
Very cozy home theater.
Beautiful furnishings.
We've got some bookshelves to my left.
Beautiful piece of art there.
But just, I love the way that the screen is set in
to this room.
Material.
These are, you know what?
That's a cupboard.
I didn't know that that was a cupboard.
I have a lot of secret features in this house
that you don't necessarily notice,
but we find out as we go along.
Yeah.
Very large, I must say.
Very large for this seating area.
These are blackout curtains, which are remote controlled.
And I like the dual elevation ceiling that they have
with the mood lighting above,
which is separating the theater space.
Moving this way, we have a garden with a vegetable patch.
They like to grow root vegetables here.
I think it's baby marrow, courgette, butternut,
and pumpkin.
That's what they're growing here.
So, no, was it pumpkin?
I don't think it was pumpkin.
Butternut, baby marrow.
It's on the tip of my tongue, but I cannot tell you.
Anyways.
Maybe let's get a good scope in for the viewers,
and maybe someone can give us a little hint
in the comment section.
Yeah, why not?
Definitely.
And again, that's just another outside area
bringing tranquility to the space.
And that does end the tour on this level,
and I will see you upstairs.
That does wrap up another tour today
here on Alia Homes,
exploring this incredible masterpiece of a design
by Sei Ohta.
It has been truly unique.
And another reminder,
you can rent this villa in the winter months
at 85,000 rand a night,
and in the summer months at 100,000 rand per night.
And I'd like to thank In Residence again
