Welcome to the succulent home guys with me Melissa
Okay, so you see this section right here
That's the second section that I am going to attempt doing an in-ground tapestry in the front of my house
If you haven't seen it already, I've posted a video in my first phase of the front yard
succulent cactus tapestry in ground a while ago
you can go ahead and check out that video here on my channel like and subscribe if you like this video and
Share it if this gives you some tips then do it because I'm here
Wanting to inspire you to do all that you can do in developing your green thumb with succulents
And say hello to my cat midnight. Hi midnight
midnight
Okay, so what I'm gonna be doing here is
Taking out these I
Don't know what you would call them
They're shrubs plants, whatever
But I'm gonna pull them out and I'm gonna take them to the backyard to use so they will be recycled and replanted in the backyard
so those over there
these
These right here this palm right here. My husband planted. So we're gonna keep this here and
Use it in the tapestry design
We're gonna see how far I can get today
It is a big section and I don't know if I have everything but we're gonna do the best we can
So first we're gonna start with taking these out. Well, keep watching
In a world so full of pain, can you make it go away?
We can't
Sorry for the burn
Yes
And it's all because of you you made the flower
Maybe now
I dug all of these out.
Now I just have to finish with those and then I'm going to get really close into here because
as you can see, there's some weeds.
I'm not going to put a weed cloth down or a weed barrier before I pour the rocks and
new soil.
As you can see, this isn't anything that gets a lot of weeds in.
You can see it's very manageable.
So I feel like it's nothing I can't handle.
And as you guys know, I like pulling weeds, it's very therapeutic.
Try it if you're stressed out.
Yeah, so see, it's just little here and there.
Look at how easy when you just pull it.
So I'm going to pour the more soil and rock and it will be fine.
Okay, I just finished turning over all the soil that was right here, which makes it more
fluffier.
So when I add the soil, the soil I got from Lowe's, which is the Kellogg's, palm, cactus
and citrus in certain sections to add mounds, it'll be a lot easier when I pot everything
I need to pot in here.
So that's going to be a good thing.
And I'm excited.
Look at Midnight, she thinks this is her place.
So I'm going to now think about what I'm going to do here, but just wanted you to see this
real quick.
Just added, this is the back view, but this is the soil that I just added that I told
you I was going to add from Lowe's that I picked up.
This is two bags.
I don't want to use any more.
This is a simple arrangement.
I don't even know if I'm going to have enough rocks, but at least I have enough to get started
and then we'll continue.
But those are the mounds.
That's where I'm going to probably put some agave, which are these ones right here.
They're slow growers, but they'll grow fast enough to where they can be here for a while
and I won't have to uproot them for a while.
Periodically, when you are doing an in-ground tapestry, you're going to want to take a step
back, start looking at where you did some placements on your mounds.
Look to see while your succulents are still in the container, so that way you don't have
to like pick up, pick out, pick up, pick out.
You know what I mean?
And you're able to visually see how you want your tapestry.
So what I'm thinking is because Aeoniums grow fast and big, but although they go dormant
in summer, I'm thinking right here will be a good place for them.
Right here.
I did pot or planted this, I think it's some kind of agave or aloe, not quite sure.
It could be in the Yucca family, but I'm not, I don't know the name of that right there.
I did three of those agaves.
Like I said, they're small, they're slow growers, but they'll grow fast enough to where they'll
make a statement.
And then I might have to transplant or remove one of the ones on the side.
Not quite sure.
But I got that Firestorm and I'm thinking of putting it right there.
And I got these cacti right here that I might put just in the front right here.
Okay, so now what I'm doing is laying the rock.
This is the top dressing that I chose, mountain rock, the mountain pebble river rock.
And this is the same as the middle tapestry that I did in the front yard.
So I'm just kind of mimicking it over here.
I still got black lava, so I'll do a ribbon.
This definitely isn't enough rock for right here, but it's enough to get started.
And then I'll just continue to add rock as I go.
It really is such a big section that there really isn't enough rock.
But I'm going to get it started and we'll continue.
Before you lay the rock too, you're going to want to sweep the sidewalk or wherever
you're at.
You want to sweep, get all the dirt out.
So that way you don't do it after, because if you do it after, then the dirt's just going
to get on the rocks.
I love you, you, you.
I feel the way I do, do, do.
You make my dreams come true, true, true.
It's all because of you, because of you, because of you.
And I don't fall in love so easily
Cause I don't wear my heart upon my sleeve
I don't know if you feel the same
But every time I hear your name
My worries disappear
It's all because of you, you, you, yeah
I feel the way I do, do, do
You make my dreams come true, true, yes you do
It's all because of you, because of you, because of you
It's all because of you
This is what I call progress
You guys, it's already getting late into the day
But as you can see, I added the rock
And I'm trying to form this ribbon
I need some more of the mountain river rock
So I can connect it somewhere in here
So it doesn't seem like there's a disconnect right here in the middle
I'm gonna try to find another pot
To put right here, on top of there
But in order to balance over here
I put a pot right there
And put the same exact kind of aeoniums
Right there
And it also gives some contrast
I'm gonna also go ahead and start putting the black lava
This is where I have to stop today
This is where the rocks have ended
And I don't have anymore
Two rocks of black lava
Two big bags
Well, same size
Two bags of mountain river pebble
Pebble stone, mountain pebble stone
Rocks are from Home Depot
And, yeah
I still need to connect this rock
The mountain rock over here
Because do you see how there's a disconnect?
So I'm gonna add some of that pebble rock right here
And then the rest I'm gonna fill with black lava
Yeah
And then I still need to find a figurine
And I have more succulents
And euphorbia
And maybe cactus
Some more
But for right now, this is where I'm stopping
Hey guys, it's day two
To me doing this in-ground tapestry
I've taken you through the first day
Now I'm gonna finish up
And do the black lava right here
But I'm gonna extend a little bit more of this pebble rock
It's called mountain granite rock
Not pebble rock, but granite
So I'm going to do all that
Get my cat out of the way
Because she just loves being wherever I'm at
And she'd be making a hot mess of my little project
So I'm gonna finish up that
And then I will go over in detail
All the little things
Look at the rock
So it's the company Vigoro
I got decorative black lava
These are all basically
This covers three square feet
To two inches depth
And I got
Here we go, this is what it's called
Decorative stone mountain granite
Yeah, so that's what we're working with
Okay you guys, I did it
There's a couple of things that I do want to get
I think it would be cute to put a figurine right there
In the middle, behind this pot right here
I think it would just be cute
Like I have that coyote in the front part of the house
And I think another figurine would be really cute
And add some dimension
The rock is laid
As you can see
I put the black lava
And the mountain granite
And I ribboned it through
Connecting the back
Connecting right here
So that the flow can continue
Throughout the whole thing
I put the pot right here
Which is an arrangement that I did earlier
On my channel that you guys seen me put together
I added some baby black pebble rock
On top for the top dressing
On both of the pots
As you can see
And I sprinkled on top of the black pebble
Some clear sea glass and white pebble rock
Both on top of the pots
Just adding some eye-catching interest
Again, as I go
I'm going to continue to add
Some more edge of areas
Filling in more gaps
But right now
This seems like a really good place to start
In my tapestry
I added the agave
The firestorm
Different kinds of little baby cactuses
That I got from Long Beach
As you can see right in the back
Agaves
Different types
And that one right there
I don't know the name of that
And some aeoniums in the front
Aeoniums pooling right here
And aeoniums in the back
Just to kind of balance out
The front
And cactus and succulents
Do go with palm trees
Any kind of palms
So as that begins to grow taller
This is a beautiful tapestry
That anchors the bottom
Of that palm tree
So
Again, I picked slow growers
As well as
The color between
The blue green and lime greens
And the dark purple
Wine color
In the aeoniums
I hope you guys loved this tapestry
And stay tuned for next
Videos to come
Until the next
God bless guys
Bye

Look away
Every day

We could be good friends
Each time you leave me
It's harder. Feels like I'm stuck underwater. Can't hold my breath. Can't hold my breath. Don't know why it's there, no.
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na. Every day, look away. Na, na, na, na, na, na, na. Every day, look away.
We could be good friends. We could be good friends. We could be good friends. We could be good friends, yeah.
