Hi, I'm Jamie and I'm here to run you through the key features and specifications for this,
the new for 2021 Triumph Street Twin. Sitting within Triumph's iconic Bonneville family,
the Street Twin is the biggest selling model within the modern classic range and it's easy
to see why. It's stylish with a beautiful contemporary custom design, has plenty of
power throughout the rev range and an easy handling neutral chassis that makes nipping
through busy traffic or spirited ride on an open road equally fun. So let's take a closer look at
the specifications and what's new on the Street Twin for this new generation update. Starting
with the 900cc high torque Bonneville engine. Now Euro 5 compliant and updated for 2021,
the liquid-cooled latest generation powerplant retains all the power, character and responsiveness
of the Bonneville twin-cylinder engine. But it's cleaner, exceeding Euro 5 requirements with
lower emissions and giving great fuel efficiency. It has incredible torque from low down right
through the rev range for thrilling acceleration with peak power arriving at 7,500 rpm and with
peak torque at 3,800 rpm. Ride-by-wire throttle control ensures a responsive feel throughout.
The twin upsweat silencers deliver that distinctive and rich Bonneville British twin soundtrack whilst the
cleverly engineered straight run exhaust routing hides the cat box behind a discreet cover plate.
New for 2021, we also have revised rider ergonomics for increased comfort with a new 10mm
thicker seat that features a new foam mixture for better padding. This has delivered an enhanced
rider triangle, the relationship between the seat, bars and footpegs for improved long distance
rideability. These changes haven't changed the Street Twin's brilliant accessibility though.
The new 2021 model still benefits from a low seat height and excellent stand over width making it a
great bike for riders of all heights and sizes. The Street Twin is exceptionally easy to ride
with intuitive neutral handling and has a great specification of original equipment
with 41mm cartridge front forks and twin rear shocks, a high specification single disc Brembo
front brake for great bite and feel and a torque assist clutch for light easy operation. A real
benefit in heavy traffic around town. ABS and switchable traction control are fitted as standard
to manage the Street Twin's torque when traction is compromised, say by poor road surfaces or
slippery conditions and there are two riding modes, rain and road. These adjust throttle map
and traction control settings for optimum performance in wet and dry conditions.
The clocks come with an analogue speedometer and a digital menu system which is accessed by
a handlebar mounted scroll button for fingertip control while riding. Other features include
an under seat USB charger, key fob incorporated immobiliser and accessory fit tyre pressure
monitoring system. Now let's take a look at some of the details that enhance the Street Twin's
timeless Triumph design DNA and contemporary custom style, starting with what's new for 2021.
We have all new cast wheels, new ribbed bench seat, new bodywork and improved finish and detailing.
Taking a closer look we have these brushed aluminium headlamp brackets which subtly
highlight the satin finish headlamp bezel and black bowl. The headlamp itself is compact and
featured a signature Triumph bulb cap badge. The rear light is a compact and elegant LED with a
distinctive light pattern. The overall lines are flowing with a sculpted tank and lockable chrome
fuel cap. The new seat, these minimal indicators and discreet black mirrors now with a new brushed
finish. There's a unique compact front mudguard and a new side panel with an integrated mesh detail
plus premium foil tank decals. Finishes have been harmonised across the bike including new brushed
aluminium throttle body finishes while the coated black Bonneville signature engine covers are
complemented by distinctive finned head and header clamps. Shod with Pirelli Phantom Sports Comp
tyres for great grip and durability. The new cast wheels add to the overall custom look and feature
machined detailing on the spokes. Finally, as Street Twin riders love to personalise their
bike there are Triumph designed accessories available for adding protection, comfort, style,
capability and security. These include options for luggage, fly screens, grab rail,
engine dresser bars, engine protectors, black or chrome engine covers, the list goes on. All have
been designed and engineered alongside the bike for perfect integration and tested to the same
standards. The 2021 Street Twin is available in three colour options, Cobalt Blue, Matte, Ironstone
and Jet Black and comes with a two-year unlimited mileage warranty and a long 10,000 mile or 16,000
kilometre service interval. And for European markets the Street Twin can be fitted with an
A2 licence kit which can easily be removed by the dealer to put the bike back to full power.
So there you have it, the new 2021 Street Twin, Triumph's most successful custom classic,
beautifully evolved for a new generation.
