HIGHLIGHTS | Sampdoria vs. Como (Serie A Femminile 2024-25 Relegation Pool Matchday 9)

So Sampdoria, bottom, they would have had a stay of execution had they won last week. They would be above Napoli in that situation, but Napoli making themselves safe from automatic relegation. Deep free kick and a header causing a few problems up front. Como had plenty up. But Chulakite and the final touch from Julia Kalernes, the Swedish international who scored four goals this season and only one victory all season and that against Napoli towards the end of the regular campaign. Great effort. Brilliant goal. What a start. Two and a half minutes. A vital goal in Sampdoria's bid to stay up. It's only one down automatically. Napoli are in the promotion relegation playoff spot. Kalernes doesn't have many options in the middle. It's not a bad ball. And in the end, Pinseri felt there was no other option but to put it out. I think that was probably going to go beyond Kramsar, but she just can take the risk. It's a lovely ball by Kalernes. It's misplaced in the end. It was promising, no doubt about that. From Sarabaldi. Just bounced past her, but now the opening. Chimo getting it out wide. Opportunities. This is Marta. Good ball into the area. What a chance for two. A wonderful opportunity. Plenty up for this. Well spread out along the area too. Kramsar again receiving in towards the middle, but sliced just on the edge of the six yard box. Decent overhead kick, which has sent the equalizer in. And Como tied it up. Nadia Idlisler does it again. Nine goals this season now for Como's top scorer. And with barely 10 minutes to go to halftime, Nishler ties it up. Opportunities for it to be dug out by Barbieri, who's going to try another long one. They're getting closer and closer. Alice Barbieri giving it another really good try. She has the range now. They don't want that to happen again. They can't afford for that to happen again. Hit directly. Close run thing. Decent try by Nishler. Controlled well by Cecilia Wray. It was short for Falico. Chance to the cross, Bertuccia. Hedda was inviting, Falico there again. Belting strike by Marta. Clems of Handball. Well, right up in the air. Oh, hands were up by Bretta Boone. Definitely any particular confidence. Nora Herum, Finn has scored this season. Like so many in the squad, it's one goal or nothing. Good ball in the center. And that was the moment. That was the moment for Sampdoria. Cecilia Wray. And survival was in her grasp. Marta's creativity had just beyond Cecilia Wray. Good deep one too. Tempted Tampieri to punch it away, and she did so. Opportunities for Kerr to get the cross in, and the header in the end didn't have a lot of pace on it. It was a very good opportunity. Possibility of the opening suddenly for Marta. A close run thing. Everybody up and OK. Here's the opportunity. Arcangeli. Close there as well. They've got options, maybe to play a short one. Or would they go direct? They've got the direct route. Off target. The second place award as it stands. Face Napoli in the promotion relegation playoff final. Genoa Bologna Brescia are way off the pace. 15 points off the top. It's a good break forward. Colombo has set it up. This is a chance. It's in front of Marta. And it's wide. It is a flow of big, big chances for Sampdoria now. Como on the charge again. Alexandra Kerr had an opening. Nischler! Oh, that sent Sampdoria down. Nischler gets her and Como second. Nischler's double has sent it Como's way. 90th minute. Good block by Marcus and Nadine. Forward by Cecilia Rey again. Punched out. Marta! Off the line. That would have tied it up. It's offside. Four added minutes at the end of this. Four minutes left. In top flight football for Sampdoria, unless they can score twice. Arcangeli. Controlled it. Deflected. Right in front of goal. That was the moment to keep them up. Cecilia Rey. It's a corner. Good ball played forward by Vakuta Tite. On by Arcangeli. Sampdoria are relegated. Only one win all season. And on the day they have had to win. They led for a long time, but Nadine Nischler scoring twice. Como get the win. They get the points.
