Can You Survive A Night In The Mountains? My first camping experience #camping

So here we are in a lake district and we are going to be spending 24 hours camping in what
might be the most beautiful camping place in the whole UK. So join me on this camping trip
and see how it goes. This will be my first ever camping experience so don't expect anything too
too great. I'll make loads of mistakes and hopefully you'll learn from them.
But before we got there I had some planning to do. So I needed to sort out my journey, the trip.
I had to sort out my tent and some food I guess so I don't starve to death there.
So plan of attack. I've got my bag here, the mattress, the sleeping bag. I got the cheap tent
for like 10 quid in aliexpress. Got some pan, somewhere to boil the water, salt, some of these
metallic bits to put some sausages on, that. You tell me why do I have it if you have any guesses.
Knife and some noodles and toilet paper just just in case I shit myself. So yeah let's get all of it
in. Let's get all of it in and let's hit the roads.
And just like that we have arrived at our destination. Just have a look at the view.
The problem with the destination is look at the car park. I mean this is the free car park and
by the state of it it's just terrible. I'm pretty sure you can get the bumper off
if you park like here. Just look at it. Yeah so now I'm gonna head all the way to the
Mir and set up my camp and get the things going.
So this is the village. I've got the inn, got some burgers, some bread, sandwiches and this
is where we're going. This is where we're putting the camp.
Right we just went through this entrance there and there was actually a sign saying no camping
in this area. But as you see I may have drawn some attention. It says that it's like a rangers
ranges like area where they check for campers. But yeah we're still gonna do it. If
they come up and they find us then obviously this is gonna be over. But
if not then we're good. So the plan is I'm gonna go somewhere there
at these mountains inside the camp there to get the better view of all this place.
And then cook some meat, set the tent and enjoy the rest of the camp.
So yeah wish me luck. And if you guys wondering why did I choose this location just look at the
view. Now I'm gonna try to cross all the way around and get to these mountains on the very
end on there. So we can slowly prepare for our place to set the tent. So no rangers come around
and don't ask no silly questions. Don't put the fines and then tell me to get lost from this
property. But yeah this bag is quite uncomfortable if you know I'm not in best shape. But
luckily enough the sun's gone which makes it better walk because it's not too hot. So yeah
let's keep on walking. Apparently there is some rescue point that way which kind of makes me
think that if there's any rangers they are most likely in that location. So change of plans
we're heading up there all the way up. So yeah keep you updated.
So apparently it's break number three. So that's the main road
that all the normal people would go. Still a nice climb but this is what I had to deal with.
Right apparently we met some guys coming down this road this path and they told that there's
about one hour climb until you reach some area where you can pitch the tent. So that's basically
the plan. So what I'm gonna do now I'm gonna set the timer for now for one hour and I should be
there. So yeah that's the plan. That's the plan of attack. So one hour let's go. I should be there
in one hour. Fingers crossed. So far we took about two or three breaks and we've been like what 10
meters up. So it's a good result. Just guys to give you a rough idea what we're gonna deal with
and one hour like that. Right the update 49 minutes left.
That's that's about it. That's how much I've climbed. Nothing's changed. I think if anyone's
camping that's gonna be me tomorrow five in the morning setting up the tent.
So another update. I thought if I reach this fence then I'm safe. I can put my tent on.
But little did I know that there's another 24 minutes to walk and that's if I'm lucky.
If I don't have to add another hour to the trip. That's the very top and I don't think
I'm going all the way to the top because at this point I'm already so tired.
But if you zoom in you may see the lake there. See the lake a little bit there.
It may get dark very soon but at this point I'd rather take extra break and reach the
destination today than go all the way there and be exhausted. Can't put no tent, can't prep no food
anything. So I'm not giving up. Let's crack on and keep going. So just another update. The time
is 7 21. Apparently one hour is going to be finished in about nine minutes. So when they
said one hour I think they thought I'm in better shape which never assume. But
yeah behind the cameras this is well tough. When I was down there actually I almost forgot my tent
and a sleeping bag because I got detached from my bag. So I had to walk back a little.
But yeah that's the view so far. I don't know what time I'm gonna reach the destination point.
We don't give up. We keep going. We just keep going. Four minutes. So this is how far we got.
Every time I stop and look around. See that bit there? That's what I always think.
That's the last bit I have to finish. When I reach that there's one of these, another one of these
and then another one and I don't want to do no camping no more. Let's be honest. But if you look
the mountain there I'd say about 70 percent high. I've done about 70 percent of my path.
Hopefully I don't have to walk when it's pitch black. So yeah guys let's keep walking.
So another update. We started at six o'clock. Eight ten. So basically first people said it's
one hour hike. It's been two hours ten. I don't see nothing. I don't see the beginning.
And what I see is water. My water. This is the fourth bottle I already finished. So
let's top up some water. Keep walking. Keep walking. Hopefully I'll not reach it by the dark
because I bet these tracks they'll be well difficult to walk if it's going to be pitch
dark because I forgot all my flashlights. So if you look at that mountain there that's how high
we are. So I think we are really close. It's about ten past eight. So the sunlight. There's about
another 20 minutes of sunlight and I really hope I'll make it in the next 20 minutes.
Wow this is something I was not prepared for.
And people who enjoy hiking, man all respect to you guys. Seriously this is not this is not
for weak people. Finally 8.22 and I've reached something that is pretty much where I can drop
the tent. Something that is at least straight. And at this point I can't be bothered to walk you see
over there. There. That's where like sort of some small lake is. That's where I wanted to go but
that's probably another 15 minutes of hiking. So we're gonna drop the tent here and set for the
night. Man so tired. So literally tired. So hungry. So happy that it's finished. I don't know how I'm
gonna get down tomorrow but go on hike they said. It's gonna be fun they said. Fuck me man.
I'm not ready for this sort of fun I think. I'm not made for this.
So there is this sort of grass. I'm hoping that's gonna
light up so I can cook some food. But before that I want to go here get some rocks
to make sort of a fire pit so it's safe to light up the fire. And I don't think anyone's gonna be
upset if I borrow some rocks from here. All right guys moment of truth. I'll express tent for 10 quid.
Apparently it's supposed to be through it. It's already. Look at that miracle. Well that's user
manual. Nobody reads that anyway. I guess it doesn't work that way. Right where's the user manual?
Take that back when I said nobody needs user manual. Apparently I think. What? No idea.
Oh I think that's what it is. Oh kind of works. So just not too sure. Where's the bottom?
Is that the bottom? Oh look at that. Almost finished straight away. As long as I figure out where's the
bottom, where's the top. Okay makes sense now. You have to touch it first.
Look at that. Is it like that? Now kind of makes sense.
Or not. Yeah boy we're sleeping tonight. Yeah man we're sleeping.
Oh **** off. It's like a ******* downhill.
Lucky if I get five minutes sleep. Victory time. We did it.
Look at that view. Tastes twice as better with that view.
This is our hotel for the night. Cost me nothing. Put my bag there so when it flattens out that
mattress thing. I've got all this rubbish here which I took. The bin bags with me.
So we are not leaving no rubbish on the mountain. So all the rubbish we're not leaving nothing on
the mountain. All these. So got some. Got some water. More water. Some snacks for the night.
Some more water. Something to celebrate. And we got ourselves some finest British ribeye steak.
Which if you're wondering why I took the frying pan with me. Now it kind of makes sense to you.
Because we're gonna cook some steak. And I got some sausages as well that we may have cooked later.
So I almost forgot. Got a butter. Flora butter. And that is gonna go together with the steak.
Because tomorrow morning we're cooking some steak. So I don't know. Maybe I'm gonna cook some noodles.
Maybe burgers. But definitely getting some beer. Got my tent ready. And enjoy the rest of the night.
As you see it's getting dark. So I don't think the camera's gonna do any judgment at this point.
So yeah I'm just gonna enjoy the rest of the day. And have some food. And get set for the night.
So what we thought would be a great plan to do a fire. As you see it just flies everywhere. And
got so much dry grass there. We don't want to cause a wildfire. So this is not an option.
Visibility almost nothing. Pitch black. Almost pitch black.
Time for some burger meat.
It's nice. I don't know. The food tastes so much different when you're in the nature.
Good morning. Seven o'clock and it's eight degrees. And this is the situation I had to deal with
all night. Barely had any sleep.
All packed up. Ready to hit the road. Supposed to grill some steaks. But it's so windy.
There's no chance you're gonna grill anything at this wind. So yeah another couple hours to go down.
Enjoy the nature. So yeah let's go. Let's go. I'm just to give you an idea. If you see
all the way there at the bottom. That's where our car parked. So pretty nice. Pretty nice weather.
It's eight degrees which is not a lot. I came here totally unprepared. With like cheap tent.
Cheap everything. Just to see if I actually like things. Because what's the point spending like
hundreds and hundreds on a gear then. I don't like it. And then just throw everything out.
So my overall thoughts on all of this is that this is not something I really like.
Especially because this is probably one of the worst sleeps I ever had. I was literally sleeping
about half an hour. Waking up half an hour. Waking up. Then middle of the night the wind
started blowing so badly that my tent started falling apart. And yeah it was freezing cold as
well. But guys look at this. Look at this view. Wow. The views is the only reason
why I would consider doing this again. Because this is absolutely insane.
Guys I can tell you straight away that somebody told me there is Burger King. It's not there.
So no point going up.
