Ashlyn Krueger vs. Jessica Pegula| 2025 Rome Round 2 | WTA Match Highlights

And oh no. Anastasia was very impressive on the back end, but in danger of just being bounced, one and done in Rome, and she dug deep, found a way. Already here. Just beautiful the way she builds up her point. And when she did win the final, she won against 72 in the world, Lucia Bronzetti. Oh, elegant. That was close to her career high at 24. A little page out of the book. You know, now I'm jealous on Arena. Because I used to play a lot of drop shots, Mikey. Well, it started pleasant enough for Marina Sabalenka. Two all, but then she went full Rachel McAdams. She became the mean girl. Gobbles up the last four games. And once again, looks fantastic. The world number one, 6-2. Opening set in less than 30 minutes. First of all, I would say that she became, first and foremost, more mentally resilient. Less chaotic moments. Nice. Beautiful rally. Beautiful the way she handled herself. And you have the chance to step in. And she's got the feel. She's really been able to develop. You need to step in and be aggressive afterwards. Because you're not going to trick her so easily. Nothing to do here. She serves like that. You accept it like the coach said. You go on and focus on the next point. Try to avoid seconds as much as possible. Oh, she could have done better. She knows it. Enough for Marina Sabalenka now. In the net game, she didn't play her best today. And it doesn't take much. 63 minutes is all that Marina Sabalenka needs. To pick up win number 32 on the year. To put in the round of 32 in Rome. Marina Sabalenka finds her way to victory. Champion of Madrid. And off to a fantastic start in Rome. Drops just four games. And she dismisses Potapova. 6-2, 6-2 to move through.
