school people are very nice so that's great kids are the students are okay they're doing good better oops okay i'm still alive yeah which is awesome in this you know that i'm teaching in china and uh the school has a vpn so it's really awesome we can have youtube everywhere you might not know that you might know that i'm in china so you have the great wall you have two great walls in china the this video mike's home is here without baby shark without ping phong and without my students too because they've been doing very well they would have no mics on me asl and yeah because the story was quite quite a funny one um before i went back in 2000 i arrived in china almost 20 years ago and uh when i arrived in china i started to you know live my life and i wanted to share some time with my mom but you know you had to send all those files from using an email and back in 2000 that was back in 2005 as the files to send through emails were really too big and youtube arrived youtube was born in 2005 the end of 2005 i think and so i started to use youtube to download my videos and to send them for my mom to watch it was much more convenient than because if the file was too big on the email i had i had to pay for that so i said no i'm not going to pay i'm just going to use youtube and send my videos so my mom can can see it and so i've sent a bunch of videos of course now they i just they are not visible they are on my channel but you can't see it it's more private life but that's how i started the this channel the channel you are watching now and i even started yeah i was just saying that i even i even uploaded some videos about ufos yeah you know um very welcome carolyn moore thank you for being alive thank you so much guys welcome that's awesome yeah well hello there to have that 400 000 subscriber for a guy like me where i'm from a very little village in the middle of france and that's great that's pretty that's kind of a story for sure but yeah so i started to i wanted to show my mom some videos from my life my everyday life and then i used youtube at the very beginning of the creation of youtube and then my mom could see them and then back in 2016 and started to teach in a primary school and in in this primary school no that was back in 2014 but the video of baby shark is was back in 2016 i guess so it was really something hello sir your videos more helpful in my teaching that's great thank you very much i'm so glad when it helps when my videos can help everyone because when i arrived in china nobody was here to tell me how to teach that was quite quite a situation thank you for creating this youtube channel it helps me a lot and teaching kids thank you very much you know it's like i was saying it's all because of ping phong of course because of my students but because of this of this video about baby shark when i arrived in this primary school i was how's the guy i'm teaching thank you very much qatar's uh xena sorry for my mistake everything is all right so yeah what i was saying is i arrived in a primary school in the primary school where i met this video of baby shark well i didn't i didn't i wasn't on purpose really i just did this video for my mom to share and the kids were dancing so well that baby shot you know at the beginning i didn't really like that that that music you know baby it was so much addicted and stays in your brain the whole day but the kids love it you know and when they love it they learn they remember when you learn with pleasure you never forget right so they they were having a lot of fun with that baby shark and yeah so they had this song at the beginning ping phong and they were it was only that song there were no actions guys as you know as an esl teacher you have to use tpr you know the tpr means total physical response so it's very important to do this for kids that help them to understand what what is your meaning you don't need to translate all the time so yeah i started with that i started one day pink funk coming come and came up with a with the same song baby shark but with actions and i said yeah that looks good now kids gonna be active in the class and speaking of how they're gonna even have more fun and i tried it out i tried and the kids were like man they were learning so fast they were loving it and so after i just said oh i'm going to send that to my mom to see that 55 claim kids in the classroom was like yeah bro we don't have that back home you know 55 students in a classroom yeah hello teacher do not appears on my phone so i just wanted to uh just checking as well on my computer that i have here so you can see oh yeah hello hey well it's not real time i guess i'm still late on my screen yeah and so i sent the i sent that uh what is it the video on youtube and after and then i left it like that [Music] after two months i went back checking on youtube and i found out that my this video a baby shark for my mom had suddenly 2 million views that was like what 2 million views damn what i'm gonna do what am i going to do so i say i'm just going to go on and give some tips to teachers try to share my experience and hoping that would help you and keep on going on this channel and catering yeah that's katarina this time i am right is that right no ketarzina sorry kendra xena you're telling me what top tip would you give for teaching chinese students the top tips one one important tip you gotta laugh but you have to love kids and then believe me that's the most important thing uh thank you much appreciated i like your experience thank you very much much appreciated yeah um yeah you're saying like the very important tips of course you're gonna love them yeah it's obvious but you know you don't do this for money because at the end of the day the kids gonna feel it right then after top tips for students it all depends on yeah it all depends on how old are the kids right um how old are they would be to be someone your behavior is to be someone humorous and being really active uh your your teaching must be interesting so you got to be active always have to have a tempo in the classroom temple temple temple you know never stops uh it's quite tough to see if you get some videos you can i'm sure you've been checking some videos when i'm teaching especially the one with the monkey when i'm using this little puppet and damn that was difficult because i was playing the role of a teacher i was i was teaching them stuff and i had this you know this puppet always trying to disturb me and in fact of course it's me so i it man that kids loved it of course they were entertained of course you can't do that every classes but it was very funny um so this one i i wanted to try teaching using a puppet and uh to tie us up but really fun for the students not for the teacher well no i had fun but it was yeah no difficult well and yeah top tips in your class you have to use tpr in your class tpr the total physical response is very important to use right and of course you're going to play some games but not all the time and don't play games like oh let's go play hide and seek no you have to let them play games but that they he practice at the same time they practice english otherwise the purpose of the game is not really it's a waste of time right kids have to practice and play right because what we learn with pleasure we never forget so thank you very much to uh for being in a yes that would be my top tip uh love kids first then you can go on because if you don't like teaching student kids you if you don't like teaching them you're not gonna give more of yourself you know it's gonna be yeah i don't want to do this no no i don't do that all man those kids knowing i mean enough no if you don't love kids forget about the rest uh carolyn moore how do how do you be smiling at them at the same time as mentioning classroom discipline and yeah and then it is possible and it's called the rewarding method so in the classroom when you arrive in your class you say hello you greet your students and then when you start the when you introduce today's class i don't know you can find a minute or two video that you that is gonna be about what they have to learn today and then or even sometimes what i do i arrive in the classroom especially with very young learners i arrive in the classroom and when you arrive in the classroom you say hi hello good morning everyone and sometimes you get classes would be like what did he say kids would be like how to say good morning or good afternoon or no stop wait so what you're going to do is pretty much you start dividing your class into teams right or if you have have like four or five students you just write each student's name on the board and this is what is going to help you control your class when you start when you you know when you start the field is going crazy you say hey guys please you have to set up as well some classroom orders right so that's why i say a lot of teachers come to me and say my this is not working that is not working this stuff is not working the first day you have class with the students it is the most important day the first day is the day where kids are checking on you and saying yeah let's see how how this teacher is and as well some of the students would be like very shy the first day so the first class the first day the first time you have those students is very important you got to have a rewarding method you got to have them having a lot of fun the first class to see which kids could be the ones who will be might be disturbing your class in the future so the first class is very important i did a video about this uh i might be putting it in the in the description after the live but it is believe me it is very important to the first day of class the first day of the semester back to school time first day the the the name of the video should be uh first class first day with grade 1 so that was great one primary school first time they didn't know me and you can see this video real time i think it was even a 360 video i i don't even i don't remember i'll put it back in the description soon but yeah it's it's very important there step by step stuff you know education is not right away you get results no it takes time till you are consistent in what you're doing you are going to see the improvements step by step and after that your life is going to be easier you understand every teacher don't want to shout on the students all the time so it's not their fault you can't say oh those students are naughty so i can't control them no it's not their fault it's your fault it's the teacher's fault because you need to have methods you need to try to understand your students more you're going to pay a great intention these kids are very they are difficult to to control for sure but like i say divide your team you divide your classroom into teams and you can use different reward methods and this is all about classroom management and actually i'm also writing some books i'm writing a book i'd love to write a lot but i don't have time i'm writing a book videos on youtube just yeah just tell me what you want to see more you understand uh actually it's more about yele but it's also very useful for esl it's pretty much is not the same but it can be it's or efl as well english is a first language that can be useful classroom management you know it's it all depends on who are your students and you are the only one who knows where you are supposed to be this time it's going to be in a classroom like this one i'm gonna probably change a classroom it doesn't matter until i get students in front of me that's the most important thing and i will have to decorate it a little better than this one because uh in this classroom we are three teachers using it so you know we didn't pay i arrive almost when the kids arrive in this school almost at the same time as the student so it was very difficult for me to prepare you know most important thing is not how your your classroom look like is how you teach so i pay more attention of what i was supposed to of lesson planned kind of what i like i said in my videos but everything i i say in my videos was taught in my class i'm sharing my experience in this so that's i've been doing lots of research here i've been sharing uh i've been sharing this on youtube using simple english using and trying to make it i would say about the content those videos are almost three four minutes then you get the intro and the outro so yeah it's quite trying to give you the big idea and you can as well do some research and what i want to do is giving you more resources on my website so that there you will have everything you're looking for from my videos to my sony yourself two minutes on yourself it's not yeah right that's pretty much about it and yeah as well uh i also want to get more teachers love to cooperate with other teachers and then so it doesn't mean to be all about esl you understand can be about math science so because now i'm in a school with lots of different teachers and they are all for high school students and they i had a lot of subscribers on this channel you can find so many stuff for your esl class especially if you're teaching kindergarten and primary school it's far enough to be a respected teacher and then and then yeah trying to give more to higher levels also my do you write all your almighty yes i do everything i use sometime before i used to do videos or only
