Carving and making leather goods

Hello Leathercrafters. It's that time of year again to do my leather carving for the year 2025.
I've got my digit worked out like a wand.
This is my pattern and I have a piece of heavy saddle skirting blocked out.
I'll cut it to shape, edge it, and rub it.
Then I'll transfer this design over to the leather.
I just appreciate you watching my YouTube videos.

Some of my older subscribers are somehow unsubscribed.
A lot of my viewers are not even subscribed to the channel.
I do appreciate you watching my how-to videos.
It's a lot of fun for me.
I hope you can learn something from my videos.
Have a good year.
This is a number 2.
Turned up heel of Barry King.
Yep.
I'll go with the number 2. Barry King.
Turned up heel. Kind of a western edger.
Now it's time to wet.
I'll rub the edges with a burlap bag.
Put it to the sink.
Wet the piece.
Now it's time to transfer my numbers over to the wet-in-case leather that I've got prepped.
I think I've got this pretty well figured out where I want to set that.
I've got these 8-ounce saddle tacks that I will put right in there.
Right there.
A couple places on there.
And then now I'll use a sharp saddler's awl to transfer this over to the wet leather.
Here's a small C.S. Osborne awl that I've reworked the tip a little bit.
This will work also.
I'm pretty fond of this particular one right here.
I've used it so much.
So what I'm going to do now is trace around this.
And then I'll come back and true up anything I need to do before I carve it in with my
Bury King swivel knife.
This is a 3-eighths inch barrel and it has a quarter inch hollow ground blade.
I believe this is the narrow one.
I've got a little heavier mark there.
I believe I can carve that in.
Have a good 2025.
Have a great 2025.
Okay, I just used a few tools for carving and tooling my piece here.
My craft tool bevelers, the B802, B803, and that smaller craft tool beveler.
And my Bury King swivel knife with the narrow blade, hollow ground, and 3-eighths barrel.
Anyway, have fun with your leather craft.
I appreciate you following along.
And have a great 2025.
Well, I've got my 2025 leather carving completed.
I've beveled around this probably three times.
I start out lightly and then each time I get a little heavier with my beveling.
And that's what gives that depth.
As you can see here, I kind of over rubbed this piece right here.
But this will smooth color out in just a few days.
I'll have this up on my cabinet here on display.
So, anyway, I appreciate you following along with me here.
Okay, cut.
