Steven had no idea that a single drone
flight over the snowless peaks of Nepal
would change everything. Before we
continue, please take some time to
subscribe to Daily Dose, like and share
this video. He thought he was just
capturing scenic footage for a climate
change documentary. But what he
discovered in the process would not only
stun him, it would uncover a mystery
buried for 500 years. At first, he
believed he had just recorded some
beautiful imagery of the mountains.
But as the camera panned over a barren
ridge, a strange formation caught his
eye. Something that looked eerily human.
What happened next would lead him down a
dangerous path filled with angry locals,
smashed equipment, and even a chase from
the police. This wasn't just a hike for
footage anymore. This was something much
bigger. Steven had traveled to Nepal
with a small documentary crew, each
member pursuing different parts of the
story. While others interviewed
villagers about rising temperatures and
shrinking
glaciers, Steven had taken his drone
high into the mountains alone. He needed
powerful visuals of snowless summits to
underscore the film's message about
climate change. After a long and
grueling three-hour hike, he found the
perfect launch point. The conditions
were ideal. He sent his drone soaring
over the peaks, aiming for distant
ridges where the snow had melted away.
The footage streamed smoothly back to
his remote screen. He didn't pay close
attention at first. He was just scanning
the terrain, locking in good shots, but
one particular formation caught his
attention. From above, the contours of a
nearby mountain range formed the
unmistakable image of a sleeping woman.
head, torso, and flowing hair carved by
nature itself into the rock. At first,
Steven thought it was a trick of the
light, or maybe snow patterns playing
with perspective. But when he flew
closer, the outline only became more
precise. What shocked him even more was
that he'd never seen it before. Not in
travel blogs, not in research papers,
not even in native lore. How could
something so incredible have gone
unnoticed for so long? Just as he was
about to take a few more passes, his
drone's battery warning beeped. It was
already down to 40%, and Steven knew he
had to return it before it lost power.
He disabled the camera feed to conserve
energy and guided it back toward him.
But luck wasn't on his side. Before it
reached him, the drone lost all power
and dropped somewhere into the snowy
mountains. Cursing under his breath,
Steven packed his things and began the
uphill trek to retrieve it. Nearly an
hour later, exhausted and cold, he
finally reached the spot. But the drone
wasn't the only thing waiting for him
there. Standing by the wreckage was a
woman dressed in thick traditional
clothing, clearly a local, and she did
not look pleased. She began shouting in
a language Steven didn't understand. In
her hand was a long wooden stick. Steven
tried to explain, gesturing toward the
drone, but she wouldn't let him speak.
His heart sank when he saw his drone
lying in pieces at her feet. Frustration
turned into anger, and soon they were
both shouting at each other in complete
confusion. But the situation turned from
frustrating to terrifying in an instant.
The woman pulled an ax from her back.
Steven froze. Was she really going to
hurt him over a broken drone? Not
wanting to find out, he made a desperate
move. He turned and hurled himself down
the snowy slope behind him, using his
jacket and the slick ice to slide down
the mountain. It was a rough ride, but
he made it safely. The drone was gone,
but thankfully Steven had one stroke of
genius. Before it crashed, the footage
had autouploaded to his cloud storage.
Shaken, but safe, he made his way back
to his lodge. That night, he loaded the
footage onto his laptop, and what he saw
took his breath away. The sleeping woman
formation was real. The drone had
captured it in full detail. But
something else caught his eye, too. At
the base of her neck, partially exposed
due to the melted snow, was what looked
like the entrance to a cave. Then things
got worse.
The next morning, loud banging on his
door woke him. Through the peepphole,
Steven saw several uniform police
officers waiting outside, and they did
not look friendly. One had his hand on
his weapon. A wave of panic hit him. Why
would police be here? Did it have
something to do with the footage? Was
that woman someone important? When he
refused to open the door without
answers, the officer counted down. Open
this door in 5 seconds or we break it
down. That was all Steven needed to
hear. He grabbed his emergency bag,
flung the window open, and jumped onto
the fire escape. He landed hard, but
adrenaline kept him moving. As he heard
the officers burst into his room
upstairs, Steven disappeared into the
back alleys of the village. Now on the
run, he had one goal. Find that cave and
figure out what the locals didn't want
anyone to see. Steven found a quiet
remote spot behind a line of shops and
took a deep breath. His heart was
pounding and his hands were still
shaking. Pulling out his phone, he
rewatched the drone footage in full.
There was no mistaking it now. The
outline of the mountain woman was real,
and the cave was clearly visible near
her collarbone, a detail he had somehow
missed during the initial flight. A
legend began to resurface in his memory,
something he had read in an old travel
book. It told of a hidden cave in the
Nepalese mountains, long thought to be
mythical, where ancient monks had hidden
something sacred or dangerous. The
pieces were coming together. The
secrecy, the anger, the police. It all
made sense now. The locals weren't just
protecting their land. They were
protecting a secret. Steven made his way
to a nearby village market, bought a set
of winter gear from an out of town
vendor, and asked no questions. Avoiding
any local contact, he took back roads.
moving only at night, keeping low and
sticking to shadows. By dusk the next
day, he reached the base of the mountain
again, this time prepared for a climb
that would take him beyond where he'd
flown the drone. The ascent was brutal.
Loose snow made the climb difficult, and
freezing winds bit into his face. After
20 hours of relentless trekking, one of
his toes began to go numb from
frostbite. But Steven wouldn't stop. At
long last, he arrived at the rock
formation he'd seen in the footage. From
that angle, the sleeping woman was
unmistakable and more haunting in person
than it was from the sky. Then, just as
predicted, he found it, the cave. But he
wasn't alone. A group of 15 villagers,
all in traditional garb, were trekking
toward him, calling out in their
language. Steven didn't wait to see
their reaction. He ducked into the cave
and ran, flashlight in hand, breath
echoing off the stone walls. The tunnel
twisted deeper and deeper into the
mountain. Finally, he stumbled into an
open chamber, and what he saw made him
freeze. Golden idols, scrolls sealed in
wax, chests filled with ancient coins.
It was a hidden vault, untouched for
centuries. The legend was real. He
pulled out his phone, snapped a few
quick pictures, and prepared to upload
them to the cloud again, but his phone
froze, literally. The cold and moisture
had crashed the system. Panic surged
through him. He warmed it with his
hands, restarted it, and when it finally
turned back on, he quickly unlocked it.
Just as he was about to upload the
image, shouts echoed behind him. "Don't
send the picture!" one man cried in
broken English. Steven turned to see the
villagers had followed him in, but their
faces weren't angry. They were
terrified. An elder stepped forward. We
don't want trouble. This place is
sacred. It is not treasure. It is
protection. Steven's hand hovered
over the upload button. He looked at
their faces. They weren't greedy or
malicious. They were guarding something
they genuinely believed was important,
something that should never be exposed
to the outside world. He lowered his
phone. "I understand," he said. "I won't
share it, but you have to move it. Hide
it better. Someone else might find it
next time." The elder nodded. "We
will." Steven climbed out of the cave
with the group and began the long
journey back down the mountain, this
time walking with those he once thought
were his enemies. He returned to his
lodge a different man, wiser, humbled,
and still in awe. He didn't have the
treasure or the photos or the global
fame. But he had something more
powerful, the truth. Back home, Steven
never told the full story in public. But
among close friends around late night
fires, he'd share just enough to leave
them wondering. The mystery was safe.
The legend lived on and the sleeping
woman would remain hidden, at least for
