Succulent Treasure Hunt | Vlog #266 - Growing Succulents With Lizk

Good afternoon my lovelies. Today I'm getting itchy fingers for chopping. And yes, you guessed it, this is my first victim. My Ionium kiwi which has been growing in my front door in the dark all autumn and winter but has survived our winter frosts. So now I decided it's time for you to go chop chop chop because all those babies inside there is not gonna grow unless these big ones here are removed. So they are well and truly ready. Look, oh look at that, it's starting to color up as well inside there. It's just screaming, look I'm pretty, I'm pretty, let me out, let me out. Yes, I will let you out but first I'm gonna chop this one off. Have you heard of the famous saying if you don't chop them they won't grow. So I am chopping them so that they will grow because this is the only way we can have a lot of babies because all of these babies here all came from one plant. One plant to rule the world when I started and I chop and they grow. They might look ugly for a while but eventually they will look beautiful. There you go, so now I'm exposing all those small ones that's gonna emerge from the depth of this pot to come out and say look at me, I'm beautiful, let me eat so that I can grow beautiful just like those old ones that were here before. So anyway, all of this might look drastic but this is the only way you can have a beautiful head of succulents. Look, it's nice and bold. I'm not gonna bore you with this one, I'm gonna continue doing this later on but for now we're gonna move on. I feel like going for a treasure hunt so let's go for a treasure hunt or more like a succulent hunt. Oh no, I got carried away because it's about to rain and so I decided to take some cuttings of my pinkwich as well on the side here but anywho, that's what it looks like. I'm still to get some cuttings of diurnium, crested sunburst but I'll do that later on and look, off with its head. The mother plant or mother head is gone but anyway, I left this other one here because it's just too pretty or else it's gonna leave a spot in here that's empty and now I'm gonna take this and put it somewhere a little bit on the protected side unless it starts raining then I don't need to remove this here, I can leave it here but if the sun continues to shine today then it might get sunburned. Really cute baby so I need to put this somewhere protected and this basket of goodies now I will bring inside to dry up for a few hours before planting it. Yesterday I discovered a few plants that I forgot forgot and before I start off my treasure hunt, succulent hunt, oh hello bee. See look, look at the poor little bee and that's why I can't remove that because look at that they're going for the the weed flower I forgot now oh never mind my brain is really fogged up I can't clover where are you the ones I got in the past few weeks or what days is actually from behind me so now I don't know if there's some four-leaf clover in here did you see what I see okay is that yes and a young lady bought some succulents yes I was selling succulents before hang on take that because we don't want that anyway I'm gonna leave those flowers there but anyway this area I'm standing in here now this little girl just bent down and pick up a four-leaf clover so I still got some clover in here I'm sorry I have to pull you out there's no bees here the bees can go into the other side it so if uh I feel like eating something I will eat and eat and eat until I'm sick of it so this one needs to be cleaned up and oh yes the reason why I'm here now this sedum here which is it's got a long name some rice golden rice or isifolium okay it is or isifolium variegated now this looks nice but not so nice because it's all leggy now the best way to thicken this up is to chop them off okay so we're gonna take some cuttings because if you don't they're not gonna grow they're just gonna be long and leggy and ugly and you can see that the plant itself is telling you please chop me off it's starting to grow some roots you can see that root there there you go oh now a lot of them see root so we gotta chop it off because if you don't they won't grow and then eventually they will die and then you won't have any more sedum golden rice now I'm gonna put this somewhere else and not leave it here but first I need to get container so I can get some more now yesterday I was watering this area and I discovered I got many plants hiding here which I'll take this one because that's trouble trouble now oh hello pink edge I think that's pink edge and then this guster aloe growing here oops ah look at that that's already a baby propagation and then oh this one I thought I'd lost all my sedum now I'm gonna take you off and then just drop you here you need to grow oh look she's already I was already sort of expecting it and I was just in control mode um organizing the funeral and all that sort of stuff and took a while a few days to figure out what I'm doing not actually from day one I've always been level-headed I've always been I sort of know what to do basically and I will get emotional but still uh not too emotional where in I can't function so to me there's no point I mean this might be harsh to say there's no point crying over spilled milk my husband is not a spilled milk I know that I'm just saying that as an analogy that the situation it's been a long time coming so I've already expected it but I didn't expect the impact I thought I'm ready for it of course I was ready for it for about the first week and the second week settled in and it's like he's not rang up my sister-in-law and then I really hounded her she's at work she's not supposed to answer her phone so I sent her a text message because she can't really answer her phone she said I can't look this is actually my first one and look how green it is compared to the other one which is grown outdoors see the difference see what a little bit of sun rain and frost can do the plants is just so gorgeous compared to this one see look at that beautiful and then the other one looks sick anyway so if you're gonna grow your vanilla bees make sure to grow them outdoors if you live in an area like I do I think 9a so it has endured minus six but look at that oh beautiful and it actually smells nice I think it's got a certain scent but anyway this one now oh yes that's right yep I forgot yeah this one this is the reason why I'm here I came here to check on this one and also do an update for someone and look at that it's really really dry so I need to water this before I take some propagations because this is really my baby plant this I already propagate this one from my mother plant which is where we're going to right now and this is the mother plant look at the mother plant and this is the baby so baby is bigger than the mummy now I can't believe that after I think a year and a half and look how much I've got now and look at this one this one on the right I need to really propagate this and also maybe take some cuttings from the mother plant as well but beautiful beautiful autonomous expenses so gorgeous gorgeous plant look at that anyway so hang on I think I
