this amazing yet tearful post on the
paper Pegasus and it absolutely melted
my heart
the first few pictures will hit you hard
and there are simply no words for the
end this is what happened in the words
of Shayna
almost one year ago today my husband and
I got a knock on our front door that
changed our lives we could never have
imagined what was about to happen when
we opened the door and we were handed a
tiny little creature that at first
glance we thought was a mouse
when we took a closer look we realized
it was the smallest baby kitten we'd
ever seen we couldn't believe our eyes
our neighbors brought her to us because
her mother had died and she was the only
Survivor of her litter they know that
I'm a huge animal lover and that I do
whatever I could for this sweet little
kitten we immediately took her inside
and made sure she was safe and warm we
named her lilu
as the days passed we brought her
everywhere with us including a day trip
to some hot springs
she even came out for some ice cream
with us although she slept the entire
time
at home she loved being around our dogs
but they weren't so sure what to make of
her
with hourly bottle feedings and tons of
cuddles we were growing very close to
our new little rescue kitten
after about a week and no weight gain we
took her to the vet to get her checked
out since we didn't have much background
information on her they told us just to
keep up the good work and bring her back
if there were any problems
by the second week she was still no
bigger but she was getting stronger she
was an energetic little kitten and she
was determined to learn how to walk
we were hopeful that she'd make it and
so when we woke up one night for one of
her feedings we were horrified to find
her lifeless
our little princess leeloo had passed in
her sleep
to say we were heartbroken doesn't even
begin to describe what we felt
amazing what losing a tiny kitten can
teach you about life and love we still
miss her tiny little face and her big
blue eyes
