One Boise recycling company is the best of the growth and turning the increased amount of yard and construction waste into usable products.
You know what does break down and is easy to recycle wood and it's something that is being used a lot of lately with all the home construction going on right now.
However, not all of it is being disposed of properly, adding to more fill in at the landfill.
Well, there is one Boise recycling company that is making the best of the growth and turning the increased amount of yard and construction waste into usable products.
Katya Stepovic has their story.
Pallets, sod, tree branches and dirt at treetop recycling trash is their treasure.
We don't get rid of anything except for the trash we pick out. It's all recycled.
You can see all the pallets and boards and everything.
I mean, it's just this this right here.
This pile is, you know, only two weeks of material with materials constantly piling up their goal.
The process is really just to get it into a smaller, compact form.
Owner of Treetop Recycling, Dustin Downs, says for a small fee, customers can leave their materials to be recycled.
Once materials are screened, they are then sent to the grinder.
Oh, and don't worry about pulling the nails out of that construction wood.
We take the metal to a recycling center. So, I mean, even the trash we pull out, we reuse some way.
The green materials are then broken down to become landscape materials, cattle bedding,
or even burning fuel to generate clean electricity.
The amount of homes being built, the amount of people coming in,
if I can make a dent in saving some of that material and reusing it, it's fantastic.
Downs adds it's cheaper than dumping your garden waste into a landfill.
But not only that.
You can even go to the landfills, too. They're too full.
I mean, they have a chart and expected growth, and lately it's just been astronomical because of our growth here.
Even the influx of people coming in, everyone's wanting to do this.
So, I mean, it's great for me as a business owner, but at the same time, it's good for everyone.
I mean, it helps. We're making money, plus we're saving the environment, and on Earth, they can't be better than that.

And as you heard, TreeTop will take anything.
Lumber, pallets, scrap wood, tree branches, bushes, grass, leaves, and dirt.
Pretty much anything organic, just not metal or concrete.
