Jessica Alba Talks Fighting, Doing Stunts & The Fierceness Of Women At 'Trigger Warning' Screening

I just love this genre I love action I think um there's not enough women representing in the action space and so having like a woman writer come in wom director DP female producers you really get to see the like fierceness of uh women and uh and US kicking ass and taking names and in a really gritty um action movie so about 2 months of training but I learned knife skills with which I never really had prior to uh doing the movie so that was fun to be able to learn a new uh fighting technique the um stunt uh and and fight uh team they worked out all the stuff they really made it easy for me and it was awesome because by the time I stepped in it was uh all pretty much like they knew where they wanted to set up the cameras and they knew what moves I would look the strongest doing so they were incredible we would like to normalize women being in these lead roles in action um and having more female writers more female directors for it not to be a novel idea but for it to be as mainstream and acceptable as anything else and also lettino repres representation you know my character's Mexican-American uh and to be able to lean into that nuance and to be unafraid to do things like that you know we should all be celebrated and represented in all genres
