Zverev, Rublev Kick Off Campaigns; 17-Year-Old Engel Takes on Struff | Hamburg 2025 Highlights Day 2

that's good enough to get the break of serve well played double break for alexander zverev because this first has disappeared from him very quickly well that's close to perfection from alexander zverev that's the break it was a brilliant chase up to the drop shot it really was oh well made kovacevic that was a lovely little cross court pass gets the job done the american would love that shot again but good effort from him he made that set a lot closer than anyone was expecting when zverev led 4-1 but for alexander zverev it is a place in the second round of hamburg oh it's on the line he's still complaining about the bad bounces but the drop shot absolutely isn't good job oh that's brilliant best rally of the match so far not a whole heap of competition in that department and there is the break but now there's only one guy in town it seems and that's andre rublev and a beautiful way to close it out for andre rublev the serve and volley approach has worked well at times today against damage battled hard had his moments for sure it is the number three seed who progresses to the second round straight that'll please him the first set won't necessarily but when he found that forehand in set two now it's nicely done patient play from akashima who's able to build the doubles keep coming one that's all played nice crisp authoritative volley the serve down which means he's going to get nothing from that either you think it's okay i think because it was all in one motion but video review might be in operation well goodness me oh we're halfway there oh that's terrific what courage set point down it's a way so near and yet so far some relief i'm sure for nakashima to hold serve there gets himself at least a tie break in this opening set but what a turnaround this is shaping up to be oh dear well as we feared rafael conignon unable to continue and that is a real shame he had two the youngster who goes back behind even that that's well played further evidence of the a reward for persistence and now he's got it what a set of tennis from justin engel great recovery that could have been very awkward and could have been left 30. oh that was huge how brave how courageous was that take that the german star is born in hamburg what a performance 17 years old remember the name justin engel a quite superb performance a brilliant match we should say but this was one for the ages maybe a changing of the guard and this is his moment
