Friends, look what I drew for you today!
I want to draw too! Hurry, Sue! Give me a gun to draw!
Only if you say the magic word first!
Oh! Say hello to our viewers!
Uh...
No, Sam! What do you say when you ask for things?
Oh, that's...
Please, Sue, give me the paper!
That's better! Here you go, Sammy! Have fun!
Yay!
I'll make the princess dress as blue as the sky! I think it's very cute!
Oh! Some razors! Dad! Sue, can I have an...
You're a fast learner!
Thank you!
What's that you're drawing, anyway?
Oh, you'll see for yourself soon enough!
Oh, I can't wait!
Okay, get back to drawing, Sue!
I didn't make it! My drawing was a total disaster! Can you please give me more paper? Just a tiny...
But why did you crumple it, silly?
Don't worry! It's okay to make mistakes! Here's a new paper for you!
Ow!
Don't worry, Sue! I'm not gonna ruin this paper!
Soon you'll see the best car drawing you've ever seen! I promise!
I'm a natural at it! No one is as good as...
Whoopsie!
Um... Sue? Remember when I was drawing that car?
Well, my pencil broke! Oh, poor me! Can I have one of yours, please?
What? Again?
Ugh! Poor pencils! We need to save them! And I have an idea!
Let's make... a cardboard organizer!
Oh, out of cardboard, huh? Sounds fancy! I'm in!
Well, let's start by marking out the... main parts!
To do this we will use a pencil and a ruler!
Like this! And let's try not to break a pencil!
I'm watching you, Sammy!
Oh, come on! It only happened once!
You're always breaking pencils, have you forgotten that?
Am I? Hmm... Let's...
We can call you Sam the Pencil Breaker!
So what? Anyone, Susan?
Alright, if you say so!
Friends, if this happens to you, too, give this video a...
I'm not the only one breaking pencils, am I?
I'm bored! I thought...
Yeah, you can take these parts and make... a pencil compartment!
But be very, very careful, okay?
Yay! I'll be the world's most careful slime! I promise!
That's the spirit! And you friends should also remember to be very careful when working on your crafts!
Now let's carefully glue the finished pieces together!
Wow! You're doing great, Sue! It's a real masterpiece!
Oh, thank you, Sammy! I'm doing my best!
By the way, are the pieces I asked for ready yet?
Here you go! I just finished them! It was really hard!
Thank you! Also, can you bring me a few wooden skewers, please?
I'm sure you can find them in the kitchen!
In the meantime, I'm going to finish gluing this part to the craft!
What should I bring again?
Skewers, Sammy! Wooden skewers!
Oh, that's right!
Oh, Sammy! Always forgetting things!
And you friends don't forget to subscribe to our channel!
Where's Sam? Did he forget what he was after again?
Don't worry, I'm on my way!
Oh, here, Sue! I brought you what you asked for!
Take it easy, Sammy!
Hey, look! These pieces fit perfectly in here!
Yay!
Now we need to be very precise!
And not forget to secure our sticks with rubber bands!
What are you doing?
One really cool mechanism!
I don't get it!
Oh, for sure! But I wish I knew why we needed all this stuff!
If you wait a little bit, you can see for yourself!
That's not fair!
Okay, I'll give you a hint!
It's something that'll help you not distract me while I'm drawing!
Oh, yeah? Then I'll hide all my art supplies away from you!
If it helps, I'm all for it! You wouldn't like it if I distracted you either, right?
Come on, Sammy, don't pout!
You will stash all art supplies here when we're done!
Okay, you got me! I'll trust you on this one!
Great! Then we can move on to assembling the paper tray, which is very important!
Okay, we're going to glue this long piece right here!
Wait, this organizer will have room for paper?
And not just for paper, for a whole bunch of things!
For paper, erasers, you name it, there will be room for everything!
Now can you please bring over here some pencils, Sammy?
Here you go, Sue! All the pencils I found!
Thank you!
No problem!
Now we can finally test our organizer in action!
Uh-huh! What do you think?
This is so cool! Can I try it too? Please?
Sure!
Yay!
Let's go!
This is amazing!
Hmm, interesting. Why are these batteries here?
We need them to make a pencil sharpening machine!
What? Am I getting a pencil sharpener?
Whoa! You're amazing, Sue!
Thanks, Sammy! You'll finally be able to sharpen all your broken pencils easily and effortlessly!
Now we just need to connect the wires together, like this!
And put all the pieces together!
Sue, how much longer? I can't wait to test it!
Almost there, just be patient!
Okay, okay!
A few final touches to connect the remaining parts, and voila! We can test it!
Alright, start it up!
Round and round and round!
Where's the box for it?
Ghost! I'm kidding! It's me!
You don't say!
Now we can put everything inside the box, like this!
We need a piece with a hole for pencils.
For me, the great cutter, it's not a problem! Hold on!
Bring it over here!
Here you go! I worked really hard! Hope it fits!
Thank you, it fits perfectly! Great job, Sammy!
Let's attach this!
Don't forget the eraser holders, Sue! They always get lost!
Speaking of erasers...
Oh, there are so many!
All I could find!
Thank you!
We'll fill a paper tray, just like that, neat and tidy! Beautiful!
It's a cool organizer, but a little boring!
Right! But how can we fix that?
Close your eyes!
Hmm, okay!
Wow!
Now, hurry, bring your pencils! We'll test it out!
Oh, I can't wait! I'm a...
Okay!
But first, let's go over our pencil dispenser!
Put the pencil in, press the button, and voila!
And now, into the sharpener!
Insert, press, pull out, and it's done!
Now all your pencils will always be sharp!

I'm going to show you how to make a painted tissue box monster
with sticker spots for details, white sharp teeth made from card, and ping pong ball eyes.
You will need a tissue box, ping pong balls, white card, brown stickers, paint, and glue.
Take an empty tissue box and paint it any color you like.
I'm painting this one purple.
Take some white card and cut out triangle shapes to make teeth.
My teeth look like this.
And then, glue it all together.
Decorate your box with yellow stickers or any color you like.
Grab two ping pong balls, use black stickers and stick them on to create eyes,
and then glue your monster's eyes to the top of the box.
And there you have it! A tissue box monster! Rawesome!
Alright! Hey, wait a second!
Where did all the pens go?
And what am I supposed to write with? So weird!
Sue, have you seen my markers? I can't find any!
That's strange. It's like they were carried away by fairies.
Oh, Susan! Fairies don't exist!
Oh, no! Shut all doors and windows! Code red!
Sammy, calm down. They're just pens.
What if they find my candy stash?
No, no, I can't risk it!
Hold on, Sammy. How about we make a crocodile-shaped organizer?
No thief would willingly enter the mouth of a crocodile. That should scare them off.
Great idea, Sue! In the meantime, I'll set the traps.
But I could use some help. Where are you going?
Fine. I guess I'm gonna have to start on my own.
Our crocodile will have big, big jaws to fit everything.
But where's all the cardboard?
Don't worry, my precious candies. I won't let anyone steal you!
I'm sorry, Sammy. I don't think the cardboard is going to hold the door.
I know I didn't use enough nails. Hey, give it back!
Nuh-huh. We can use it for our craft. Check it out.
Okay, now. We need some glue to put our crocodile's teeth on.
Oh, wow! It's just what I need to set that trap.
Huh? Wait, what?
Let me go! I taste awful, I promise! Sue, he's gonna eat me!
Sammy, come on.
What? Slime can't even build a trap in his own house!
Oh, so you were building a trap? Now I see.
You know, this organizer can be a trap, too.
And if you hand me the ruler, I can make it open and close like actual jaws. It's gonna be cool!
Wow, really? Then here you go, Susie!
All we have to do is cut the cardboard right here.
Now we'll bend it and voila! It opens and closes!
That's less cool than I thought. Wake me up when the real fun starts, will you?
Looks like it's a prank time.
Oh, Sammy! Look what I got! These are the parts for the world's coolest thief trap.
A thief trap? Bring them on!
Couldn't figure out how this trap works, though.
That's because it's not a trap at all.
What?
Gotcha! Sorry, I just really needed a drawer.
I can't believe it, Sue!
Oh, come on. Look how great it turned out.
And to make our organizer even cooler, we'll decorate it on the inside.
We just need to find some red paper. Oh, there it is.
Gotcha!
Oh, you!
What if it were a real thief? We have to secure our house, Sue!
Okay, okay. So do you have something on your mind?
I'm glad you asked.
We'll build a fence. That way all the thieves will stay outside. Please. And I'll get...
And for how long do I have to hold this up?
Huh, wait a minute. These sticks are just what we need for our organizer.
I'm sorry it took so long, Susie.
What? Sue?
Oh no! It can't be! The thieves stole the sticks and Sue?
Sammy, relax. I'm here.
Let them take the sticks. The mayor okay.
No one took the sticks either. Look.
By the way, could you pass those little sticks over there?
You tricked me again. So why don't...
We need to secure them inside our crocodile's mouth.
This way we can control how he opens and closes it.
But we also need some longer sticks here. Where are they?
My emergency escape ladder is ready.
Sammy, what are you going to do with the ladder?
I'll jump on the thief from above!
Give me the sticks and I'll give you candy.
Deal?
You betcha! You can't leave candy out in the open like that, by the way.
Are you going to eat it and hide it inside your belly?
Okay, back to our craft. Here we go.
We need to secure the sticks with hot glue so they don't slip out.
And now the most dangerous trick the world has ever seen!
Don't try doing this at home!
Come on! Close! Why didn't it work?
It's all because we still haven't put it all together. Be patient.
Well, now. It should definitely work.
Hold on, Sammy. Why don't we save it for the thief?
Oh, that's right. I like the way you think, Sue.
Now, to secure the jaws, we need rubber bands.
Sammy, do you have some?
Sorry. I used them all on this super cool-
The thief shows up. I'll just-
Oh, Sammy, are you okay?
I don't think you can catch a thief that way.
But our crocodile can do just that.
Look! Open and close. So don't worry about it.
I think you're right. I've secured our house enough already.
All these brilliant traps I've built will stop any thief.
That's for sure.
I don't know about that.
Hands off! Just go continue making the craft.
Why doesn't our crocodile look like a croc-
Because we haven't decorated it yet.
Here. This piece will serve as both a tail and a handle for the drawer.
Pretty handy, huh?
Don't know about that, but what do you think of my new style?
Sorry, but you'll have to find a different one.
Because we need this for our craft.
Okay. How about this hairstyle?
I think it looks good on me.
We wanted, right?
Now, let's move on to the eyes.
First, we need to make the eyelids.
But as for the eyes themselves...
These glasses are a little too big for me.
You should try them on, Sue.
These aren't glasses, Sammy.
These are our crocodile's eyes. See?
We'll lure our thief in with cute eyelashes.
And then, BAM!
Good one! Also, let's not forget about the pupils.
Those paintings that follows you around wherever you go.
Don't be Sammy.
It only means that no thief will escape our crocodile's gaze.
That squiggly thing.
That's what we need for the next step.
We need to roll it up into a tube.
Oh, I get it.
It's a scope to track thieves.
We could take turns looking.
It's not a telescope, Sammy.
It's our crocodile's nose.
It's done.
All that's left to do is to fill our organizer with stationery.
Heads up! Here they are!
Oh, thanks.
I guess these are all the pens that have left.
Perfect.
Oh, we nearly forgot about the drawer.
Let's put in some can, my precious.
Oh, I'm gonna take it all.
He did it after all.
Sammy, calm down. It's okay.
Easy for you to say.
It's me, who he ate.
Huh? But where did all these pens come from?
Now I remember.
I was sleepwalking.
I was carrying them all to my secret lab
to build a candy-making robot.
Huh? What happened here?
A hurricane?
Would you just look at all this mess?
Um, a hurricane.
That's right.
Oh, Sammy. Care to explain yourself?
Well, you know my new hobby.
Drawing sheep, right?
Well, I'm terrible at it.
I've tried so many times.
Oops, sorry. That's awkward.
Anyway, I will never draw sheep again.
But it's okay not to make things right on the first try.
So, do you mean I should keep going?
Maybe I need a reference?
Exactly.
That's why we're gonna make a desk organizer
shaped like a sheep.
Let's get to it.
Wow, sounds cool. Count me in.
First, let's make the base.
Great idea, Susie.
And I found this post to tie my future sheep to it.
It's not a post.
It's a compass.
Whatever.
And it's very sharp,
so you need to be very careful working with it.
Check it out, Susie.
I can use this to shear my sheep.
Sammy, stop messing around.
Ugh.
Scissors are sharp, too.
They are not a toy.
Anyway, let's get back to our craft.
Ah, what a perfectly round circle.
Great!
One sheep, two sheep, three...
Hey, that's pretty cool.
How did you do that?
Counting sheep.
By the way, there are more than one thousand sheep species.
What, really?
I simply have to find out more.
Okay, while Sammy is busy,
I'll prep more cardboard pieces.
My favorite method.
Here we go.
Easy peasy.
I'd better get ready to meet all those sheep species.
We need a shepherd.
Huh, not bad.
But just the hat will be enough.
Now I need something to attract the sheep.
Hmm.
I guess this piece needs a few adjustments.
That's better.
Hey, Sue.
While I was looking for sheep,
I found this.
Oh, just in time, Sammy.
We'll use it to glue the details together.
Watch closely.
I guess you're doing it all wrong.
Let me see.
This space is too small for my fine wool sheep.
No worries.
Your fine wool sheep will fit.
I just haven't finished yet.
I could use this.
Hey, Sammy.
I could use it too, you know.
No.
Give it back.
But Sue, I was gonna build a pen for my future sheep.
Don't you want me to finish this craft first?
Hey, what did you do?
It's ruined now.
How could you?
Give it back.
Okay, okay.
You're so impatient.
You know that if I had more extra cardboard,
I'd give it to you.
Aha!
Here's the best spot for my sheep pen.
Alrighty.
The gate is gonna be right here.
And this will be the sidewalk.
Make way, Susie.
Just be careful.
Meh.
What are you talking about?
I'm master of parking.
You will see now.
I don't need to be careful.
And my sheep pen is finally ready.
Welcome.
Alrighty.
The base is finally ready.
Looks pretty good to me.
Hey, Sue.
Where do the sheep vacation?
Honestly, I have no idea.
Now, we can get down to the next part of our organizer.
Here we go.
Perfect.
This is done.
Wait a second.
Where is the ruler?
No, seriously.
Oh, what a nice color.
I bet my sheep will love it.
Here it is.
We need to draw a few straight lines
on the top of this piece.
Oh, I'm so good at this.
My sheep will be so happy.
I love it.
Wait, where is the hammer?
It must be my lucky day.
These pieces are just what I need.
Now I'll do some hammer work.
Where are my pieces?
I'm so glad I found these.
They are just perfect.
What? How could she?
Okay, I'll show you, Susan.
Okay.
The next step is gluing.
Just be careful when applying glue to the edges, guys.
This piece goes right here.
Looking good.
Uh-huh.
Oh, hmm.
Hmm.
But Sam, if Barbie finds out…
Just go!
Oh, dear, Susan.
This flower is for you.
Whoa, really?
Ken is doing great.
It is beautiful like you.
Huh? Where is the drawer?
Sammy!
Oops, gotta go.
That will teach you.
Sammy, wait!
I really need it.
Please, give it back.
This is for our craft.
Find something else.
Okay, fine, you can have it.
Now where was I?
Right, I'll glue these partitions here.
Here.
I want to help with our main craft, too.
Now we're talking, Sammy.
I like it when you help me.
Look, this little piece is very important.
It goes here.
And here's another one.
Now look at this magic!
Voila!
The drawers are moving!
Isn't it cool?
Sue, you definitely need…
That's right.
It goes here as a barrier so that nothing falls out.
We're almost there, friends.
And here is what we've got.
Cool!
Hey, Sue, why does the sheep need a dentist?
Um, dunno, why?
For bad teeth!
Funny!
Yeah, Sammy, you are.
Okay, everything seems to be working fine.
So it's time for the next stage.
Here comes some glue to seal a few more details together.
Um…
Sue, help! Something strange has happened to me.
Seems you got trapped by a piece of cardboard.
It's not funny.
I was just walking, thinking if I could get two sheep.
Will they get on well?
What do you think?
Oh, don't worry.
Sheep are very friendly.
They can even wag their tails like dogs.
And they form strong bonds with other sheep.
Really?
Yay!
Then I need to build a bigger pen.
Wait, wait!
It is a very important piece.
Okay.
You can't have it.
Sorry about that.
But I really need it to make the walls for the top drawer.
I see.
Then you probably need this, too.
No, no.
You will get it only if you give me candy.
Alright, deal.
Hey, where is my candy?
I'll give it to you when we'll finish the craft.
So, you tricked me, huh?
Okay.
By the way, this looks super cool, Sue.
Aren't you a great engineer?
Oh, thanks, Sammy.
Now check this out.
It's the upper lid.
It will be able to open and close like this.
This place is so cozy.
Perfect place for counting sheep, you know.
Sammy, you scared me.
Don't do it again.
Okay, okay. Sorry.
Now I'll make the biggest drawer.
It's an important part of our sheep-like organizer.
Voila!
Nothing complicated here, right?
Sue, I feel something fishy here.
Let me check it real quick.
Uh-huh.
I see.
The drawer is much bigger than that slot over there.
Sue, how could it fit in there now?
Care to explain?
Sammy, give me just a second and I'll show you everything.
We always say that measurements are very important.
And you just...
Sammy, look.
It fits perfectly.
See? It's alright.
This time, it is.
Now the coolest part.
Let's make the hooves.
It is not complicated at all.
Just watch closely.
Here's one.
And two.
Finally, we get to the coloring stage.
My favorite.
Really comfy chair.
And the best part, Sue won't...
Go, go. A little bit more.
Excuse me? What's going on here?
Where are you taking my sheep pen?
You don't have building permission.
You're gonna have to pay a fine.
What? 200 cat coins?
Are you serious?
Sue, can you imagine what...
Hey, coloring?
I just started. Take your brush and join in.
There's plenty to do.
Oh, I'm coming.
So relaxing.
Oh, what were you trying to tell me?
You know, it appears that I accidentally
built my pen on Roger's property.
Really?
I bet Roger won't be happy about it.
Now, watch how to make this.
Look like a sheep's wool.
Here we go.
And of course, there's no sheep
without a cute little muzzle.
Let's draw it over here.
Draw? Where? I can't see anything.
Go to my voice.
Ouch!
Oh, Sammy.
Oh, thanks for saving me, Sue.
You're welcome. And this looks good, isn't it?
Here comes a cool hairstyle.
And a muzzle, of course.
Now we can put all kinds of stuff
in our organizer.
This is the perfect spot
for some paper.
We can't do without it.
And something to draw with, of course.
Well, Sammy, what do you say?
Oh, I totally love it, Sue.
Wow!
And I have a new sheep joke.
Go ahead.
What is a sheep with no legs?
What?
Just a clown.
But first, the Fingertips treasure chest.
It looks great, costs pennies to make,
and has a hidden compartment to stash your secrets.
Arr, shiver me timbers.
What, are you cold?
No, I'm getting all piratey, aren't I?
How about we go and search for some hidden treasure?
Oh, I've found the treasure chest.
Oh, and so have I.
And there's lots of hidden treasure inside.
Oh, looks good.
Oh, so do you, Tim.
What's up?
Oh, not that old gag.
What?
Just go and look in the mirror.
If you'd like to make a treasure chest
with hidden treasure and secrets inside,
it's easy.
We've given it a Fingertips difficulty rating
of three.
Well worth the effort.
In fact, it's just like old dust.
Ah, that's better.
All cleaned up.
Now, to make your treasure chest, you need a box.
One of these is perfect, with a hinged lid already attached.
So get hold of an old washing-up powder box,
or one of these old teabag boxes is perfect.
Start by snipping off this extra flap at the front here,
so you'll end up with something that looks like this.
Now we need to give our box a hinged lid,
and for this, you need some cardboard.
Simply stand your box end on,
on the card,
and then draw a line across the top
of the box lid.
Now you simply need to draw a semicircle above this line,
and you don't need to be too perfect or accurate.
Something like that should do nicely.
Cut this out, draw around it, and then cut that one out
to end up with two identical semicircles,
like these.
Now you simply need to stick or glue these
to the ends of your lid, something like that.
Now you need another piece of card,
and this needs to be the same width as the top of your box.
You just need to lie this over the top of your domed ends,
like this,
and then simply tape or glue that into position.
And when you've done that, you'll have a treasure chest-shaped box.
Now, to turn this into a wooden treasure chest,
you need some of these wooden lolly sticks,
and what you need to do is arrange these in rows,
nice and neatly, on your chest, like this.
Cover the whole thing.
Here it is covered, and when you're sticking on the lolly sticks,
do make sure you position them to leave a gap here,
and that will mean you can still open and close the lid easily.
Looks great, doesn't it? And the box is now stronger too.
And you can even add some additional thin card detail,
like we have.
Next, to make your secret layer, you need to glue some lolly sticks
into position about two or three centimetres down
from the top of your box on the inside.
Now you need to get yourself some cardboard box cards,
and cut it so it's about the same size as the base of your box,
but make it slightly smaller so it'll fit neatly inside.
You may also notice that we've removed this section here,
just to help when removing it from the box.
Now just sit it on top of the lolly sticks, in position,
like so, and there you have your very own decoy layer,
so you can hide all your secrets underneath.
And now to make it look even more like a wooden treasure chest,
paint it inside and out with dark brown paint,
and then add even more details.
Check this out. How about some silver corners?
Or you could put on a few gems and a lock,
and what about giving the whole thing a bit of a dusty effect
by rubbing in some chalk dust?
And then on that false piece of card, you need to add
some chocolate coin wrappers.
So now you're ready to hide all your secrets.
Just before you do that... Oh yeah? Oh, what's on that?
I will never reveal.
OK, pop it in there, and we'll cover it up with the decoy layer of treasure.
And there you have your finished treasure chest,
specially made to keep your secrets, or even your real money, hidden.
And you can make all sorts of different designs.
Check out this bountiful bunch. What about this tiny treasure chest,
made from a smaller box with an eerie skull on the side?
Or here's a pink fluffy one, with a false compartment,
cunningly disguised as make-up.
Or how about this huge treasure chest,
hiding lots of hidden secrets, made from an old shoebox.
Yeah, so why not make a Fingertips treasure chest?
OK, me hearties.
This is Makeover Fingertips, the part of the programme where we show you
how to make something by recycling stuff that you probably find around your home.
So what about this lot? Some decorative bits and pieces,
acrylic paint, and an old canvas bag.
Now these are all the rage at the moment.
You can pick them up in most supermarkets, and they're great,
because they help the environment by stopping you using carrier bags.
However, we've discovered, with a bit of Fingertips know-how,
you can really jazz them up.
Check it out, a Fingertips eco bag.
They're really useful for putting your school things in,
or just for taking shopping.
And we give the eco bag a Fingertips difficulty rating of 2.
A simple and effective way to help the environment.
So why not get green, and get painting?
Take your canvas bag, and cover the surface with a layer of light acrylic paint.
This will make a good surface on which to work.
When the bag is dry, you can start to sketch on your design using a pencil.
We've decided to draw spots.
Now you can add a splash of colour.
Treat your bag like a real canvas, and paint your design in nice bright colours.
This paint will really make the white spots stand out.
And when it's finished, it'll look like this.
That's great, isn't it?
Now you can leave it like that, or add a bit of sparkle with some of these fabulous stick-on gems.
Just glue them in position wherever you like.
And when you're finished, it should look something a bit like this.
And you can impress your friends with your very own personalised eco bag.
We've added a bit of 3D paint, some glitter glue, and finished it off with a faux fur trim.
And there are all sorts of designs you can do.
Have a look at these. How about a sensational space scene?
A beautiful beach bag?
A plundering pirate ship?
Or a slithering snake?
Brilliant, aren't they? So have a go yourself.
Use your fingertips to help the environment, and create a fashionable fingertips eco bag.
Got a minute?
Because this is the part of the programme where we show you how to make something in under a minute, using odds and ends from around the house.
Today it's my turn to make.
And it's my turn to time.
And this is all I need.
Wow, lots of glue.
Now we're not going to tell you what it is, so see if you can guess as Tim gets into a rather sticky mess.
Are you ready?
Yes I am, and I'll tell you what, I'm on a bit of a roll today.
Is that a clue to your fabulous make?
It certainly is, and it's much better than one of your half-baked ideas.
Three, two, one, go.
First you need an old scratched CD, like this one.
And some brown paper, which I'm going to gather up to make a circle around the CD.
That's ten seconds.
Now with some masking tape.
Probably don't use your mum's best album for this one.
That wouldn't be best.
You attach it in place with some tape.
And you've had twenty seconds already.
And one more piece, just to make sure it's really nice and secure.
And now I'm going to dunk it into the PBA glue.
So in it goes, and now, wow, squares of brown paper.
And I'm going to dunk my hand in as well, to make it really messy.
And now you simply massage the CD.
As you sort of turn it around, you add another square.
Twenty seconds to go.
Oh dear.
You might want to put some paper down before you start making this.
That would be a good idea.
Six, five, four, three, two, one.
And stop the clock.
Fifty-nine seconds, well done, just in.
Very messy, what is it?
Well, I'll tell you what, once it's a bit more dry, it'll look more like this one here.
Have a look at that.
And then all we need to do is put it in some pink paint, like so.
Pop it on a plate.
And then put on some sprinkles, like this.
And you end up with your very own fingertips, freshly iced CD donut.
Looks good enough to eat.
Yes, but you mustn't, because once it's dry, you can add a coat of varnish,
and it's going to be preserved and protected for many years to come.
And not an e-number in sight. I guess you can have a lot of fun with these.
Oh yeah, just check out this array of scrumptious morsels.
We've got a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, with smoked salmon felt.
What about creating a classic ring donut, with a dusting of real sugar?
Well finally, there's a cheese and salad bagel, with foam cheese and bird seed topping.
Mmm, yummy.
So use your loaf, get hold of a useless CD and some brown paper.
And make your very own fingertips joke CD food.
In just about a minute.
This is Food Fingertips.
The part of the programme where we show you food that's fun to make, and great to taste.
And today, we're going to be making this.
Wholemeal loaf.
Er, I don't mean to be picky Tim, but that looks like a bog standard white loaf to me.
Aha, well I can assure you it is indeed a wholemeal loaf.
And that's because it contains a wholemeal on the inside.
Oh crumbs, that looks delicious.
Not only does it taste really scrumptious,
it makes a delicious accompaniment for any picnic.
Oh, I need to make one.
And these are so easy to make, we've given them a fingertips difficulty rating of...
Just one.
So no excuse not to rise to the occasion and use your loaf.
You will need a loaf, white or brown,
some butter, soft cheese and peanut butter,
boiled eggs, mayonnaise or salad cream,
and salad-y stuff.
To get going, first wash your fingertips and then carefully slice the top off your loaf,
like on this one.
Then you need to hollow out the innards by pulling out all this bread inside.
You'll see it's hollow in there.
Next we need to spread some butter around the lid,
and also around the inside of the loaf.
Now the general idea with this is to fill up your loaf with things that you'd like to eat in a sandwich.
And you need to do layers of food.
So next I'm going to do some peanut butter, because I like that.
So again, spread a little bit on the lid,
and around the inside.
And you could use a spoon to help you spread it
around the inside of the loaf.
Oh, it's looking good already.
Then perhaps some lettuce.
Put in a few slices of lettuce.
And some sliced tomato.
Perhaps a bit of cheese.
And you could even boil some eggs.
Just let them cool and peel them.
Here they are. But don't put those in yet.
Now you need to make a kind of cheesy paste to hold those eggs in place.
Start with a spoonful of cream cheese.
And to this you need to add another spoonful of mayonnaise.
Just plop it in there like that.
Lovely. Now you need a spoonful of cottage cheese.
Add that to your bowl as well.
Smells very interesting.
And now you can add some cubes of cucumber as well.
Yummy.
Now just mix all of these ingredients together
to form a really nice mixture.
That's looking great.
And now you just need to add this to your loaf.
So just pop it inside with your spoon,
and spread it nice and thick.
That's perfect.
Now you can just put your eggs inside.
One in the front, and one at the back.
And now just add a bit more of your mixture
around the eggs
to keep them in place.
When that's done, you can just about see them in there.
The eggs are completely surrounded.
So now put a few more layers on top until the loaf is full.
So a little bit more lettuce, maybe some more tomato,
and perhaps even some slices of wafer-thin ham.
Until the loaf is full, then pop the top of the loaf back on.
And then you can tie it up with some string, like a parcel,
to keep it all together.
There. Now you can carry that out to a picnic,
or just take it out to a friend's house to eat for tea.
And when you want to eat it, just cut it into thick slices,
and then you get a slice of everything that was inside.
Ooh, that looks yummy. It is.
And of course, you can make different fillings.
Just pack in the things that you want to eat.
Check this one out. Here's a bit of a spin on a sausage sarnie.
So why not use your loaf to make a Fingertips wholemeal loaf?
Oh, he's on a roll today.
She's so well-bred.
This is Food Fingertips,
the part of the programme where we show you food
that's fun to make and great to taste.
And today, we're making biscuits.
Mmm. Bet they're for dogs.
There you go.
Yep, we thought we'd get our paws mucky
and get baking for our four-legged friends.
He's really enjoying it.
Yeah, they're good, aren't they, Ted?
And we give these dog biscuits
a Fingertips difficulty rating of...
two.
Okay, so you might have to be a bit of a chef,
but I guarantee if you bake these dog biscuits,
see, you'll have a best friend for life.
Ooh.
Now, to make the dog biscuits,
and it's quite obvious that dogs do like them,
here is what you will need.
You'll need two-and-a-half cups of flour,
also three-quarters of a cup of skimmed milk powder,
and half a cup of vegetable oil.
You want to pop those into a bowl.
In they go.
Pop in the oil as well.
And give that a little mix.
Mix it round.
And then you need to add
two tablespoons of brown sugar,
also three-quarters of a cup of made-up vegetable stock,
and half a cup of grated carrots.
Just pop those in
to the mix.
In they go.
Last bit of vegetable stock.
And
finally, you need to add
an egg.
Pop that in,
and then give it a good mix.
And keep mixing until
it turns into dough.
Like that.
There you go.
Thank you, Stevie.
It's time to roll out the dough.
So first of all, you need to sprinkle some flour onto a board
to stop the dough from sticking.
There we are.
Turn that over.
And then use a rolling pin to roll the dough
into a nice, even thickness.
And this mixture should make about 25 dog biscuits.
I think about that thick.
Looks fine.
Now we're going to use a bone-shaped cutter
because we know Ted likes those,
but you can use any shaped cutter,
or simply cut out the shapes using a knife.
So press the cutter into the dough,
and then put the shapes
onto a baking tray
lined with greaseproof paper.
Then pop them in the oven on gas mark 5
at 190 degrees Celsius
for 25 minutes until they're golden brown.
Mmm.
They actually smell tasty.
Freshly-baked, fingertips dog biscuits.
And to store your biscuits,
why not make a doggy-friendly bone box?
Now the main container is just a crisp tube,
and the bony ends are just two polystyrene balls.
Now cover it in paper mache,
give it a lick of paint,
and it works a treat.
Looks tasty, but not as tasty
as the doggy biscuits inside.
And so the other members of your family
don't feel left out,
we've come up with a biscuit recipe for cats too.
Just check out the Fingertips website,
click on food, and you'll find the recipe there.
She likes the dog biscuits.
So why don't you make your pet
a Fingertips tasty treat?
He'd be barking mad if he didn't.
Got a minute?
Yes, it is the part of the programme
where we attempt to make something in under a minute
using bits and pieces that you could find around your home.
Today it's my turn to make.
And it is my turn to time.
And this is all it takes.
Well, it's quite a bit of stuff there.
Fine selection.
Okay, well can I give you a bit of a clue?
I am puzzled about this one.
You will be.
Are you ready?
No, I can't make this one in a minute.
Three, two, one, go.
Okay, start off by taking a photograph.
Now it can be of anybody you like.
It could be of your friends,
or you,
or a celebrity.
I'm using Stephen because he's simple.
I mean, it's simple.
Right, put loads of glue on that.
Now stick it onto this magnetic sheet.
And you can buy this in art and craft shops.
20 seconds have gone.
I'm sure they're blown out of that picture. My face isn't that fat.
Right, now with a ruler and a pencil.
25 seconds gone.
Got to make ruler widths.
Oh, now you're drawing on my face.
30 seconds have gone.
As your picture will fit.
Three lines each way.
Right.
Now I've got to cut out all of these squares.
Okay, 40 seconds have gone.
I'll get cutting quite quick, but still be careful.
Okay, taking care.
Oh, you're cutting up my face.
How many seconds?
Oh, 47 seconds. Oh, that's cutting.
50 seconds have gone.
Quick.
I'd have done them two at a time. Try and do them three at a time even.
How many seconds?
Oh, coming up to a minute. There's not a chance.
There's not a minute. Hold on.
One minute has gone. Quick to see how quick you can do it.
Stop. One minute and three. Do we allow it?
Yes, we do. You are so lucky.
Thank you.
Hope you allowed it too.
Are you going to tell them what it is?
I'll just have to add the finishing touch.
Okay, so I stick it up onto the fridge.
And it is a fingertips
magnetic mendable
masterpiece. So, Stephen, I need that stopwatch now.
Because it's your turn to make
and my turn to time.
No problem. There's only one
master around here, and that's me.
Yeah, I'll leave him to it.
It doesn't have to go on a fridge.
Any metal surface will do.
Or, how about making a
message puzzle, just like this one.
That looks so cool.
And if you check out the Fingertips website,
click on one minute, you'll find
pictures of me and Stephen that you can print off
and chop up.
So, whether it's complicated
or simple,
you'll be making masterpieces
in no time.
Fingertips top tip.
To aid your piece of paper, tear off the
corners and screw it up to give it creases.
Flatten it out and wipe it over
with a used tea bag for a
discoloured look.
Picture this.
You're in your
favourite chair, sitting back,
enjoying your favourite episode
of Fingertips.
But what happens when you need to nip to
the loo?
You get back to find that someone has nicked
your seat.
But this little Fingertips
Save My Seat will stop any
seat stealing. Now, it may look like
a sticky spoonful of lumpy custard,
but when you know the secret,
your seat is safe.
Now, if you want to fool your friends, you will need
a mixture of PVA glue and
paint, also a spoon, and a few
other added ingredients that, when dry,
will look like spilt food.
Now, we give this a Fingertips
Difficulty Rating of 2.
Nice and easy.
So, to make your own Save My
Seat, you want to get your fingertips on
your spoon or fork, whatever you're
going to use, and then decide on
the splatter shape that you're going to
go for. For that, you need some
modelling clay. Just mould
it into the shape that
you want. Let's go for
that. That should
do it. And you need to make a well
so the mixture won't overflow
and to keep it all in,
you use some cling film.
Pop that on there,
like that.
And then for the mixture. Now, you
decide on whatever food you're going to go for. We're going to
make some custard. We need some yellow paint
and PVA glue. Pop that in
and give it a good mix.
Keep mixing
until the glue turns
all yellow, like
that. And
now to make it lumpy custard, of course
you need the lumps. You just use
more lumps
of modelling clay. Just pop those
in as well. And then
one more final mix
and pour the whole thing
onto the cling film.
Make sure you don't go over the edges.
Let's add a tiny bit more.
And then get whatever piece of colour
you're going to use. Just
smooth out the mixture
and pop it in,
like that. And leave it to
dry overnight. And in the
morning, when it is dry,
you can peel it off
the cling film and it
is ready to use. Now
you can take it to the cinema, to a football
match or just leave it at home. And a brilliant
idea is if you use food colouring
instead of paint, you get a fantastic translucent
effect, like this sticky
jam knife.
How about sausage
and beans with a knife and fork?
Or you could go for my
favourite, mushy peas.
So, the next
time you're going to leave your seat, stop a seat
stealer and make a fingertip save my seat.
It works every time.
Just make sure you wait for the glue
to dry first.
This is the fingertip sticky beak
grabber. Not only does it look fantastic
with its colourful beak and its
long neck, but it's got a great snapping action
too. And it's really easy to work.
All you do is you pull up and down on this
cord here and that is what opens
and closes its beak
just there. How cool is that?
Now the sticky beak grabber is a fun
fingertip and really is just for fun.
I know. I don't know who's working
it either.
Now, if you want to make your own sticky beak
grabber, then the first thing you want to do is get your fingertips
on a grape punnet or any similar container
with a lid. And we give the sticky
beak a fingertip's difficulty rating of
3.
So, it's fairly straightforward.
Now, you need to attach the lid
to the base of the container with a strong bit of sticky
tape at the back like that.
And you also need a large wrapping
paper tube that you want to
attach to the base of your container.
And the easiest way to do that
is make a hole in the base
of the container with a pencil
and then make the hole bigger
so it will fit
onto your tube.
Then push
the wrapping paper tube through that hole
you've just cut, like that.
And you might want to secure it in place with a
few bits of strong tape.
And if you do this on the inside of the
punnet, you'll make it look much neater.
Yep. Now
to make the opening and closing mechanism
of your beak, you want to get a couple of
paper fasteners and attach one
to the back of the top lid,
just here, and one to the bottom
just there. And then you need
an elastic band. Now this bit is a bit
tricky because you need to try
and loop the elastic band around the top
just there, and
then loop it around the bottom
like that. There we go.
And now it should open if I let go of it.
Yes! It opens and
closes like that. Now here's a fingertip's top tip.
If you do have trouble keeping it
open, then you need to get a smaller elastic
band that will create more tension and
then it will definitely open.
Now you need to be able to close
the lid, so get your fingertips on either
some string or some fishing wire
like this, and a piece
long enough to go all the way
through the tube. That should be just about right.
Then pierce a hole in the
lid of your container using a sharp
pencil. Get the end
of your fishing wire
and poke that through the hole
like that. And you
want to stick this firmly in
place with some
sticky tape. Lovely.
Then you want to tie something with a little
bit of weight to the other end of the
fishing wire. We've gone for a big safety pin.
And poke that through the wrapping
paper tube, so then if you
give it a bit of a shake,
hopefully, it'll
eventually, there, come out
the bottom. So now if you pull on the
wire at the bottom, it will
make the beak open
and close. And finally
just tie a curtain ring around
this end of the wire. It'll
hold everything in place and it makes a
perfect handle.
And for the beak, you just attach
a piece of card or foam to the
bottom like that. And do the same
for the top. And keep them
in place with paper fasteners
just there.
Now for the head, it's really easy. Again,
a piece of card or foam.
Just attach that to the top
like that. And
paint the neck. And how would
a sticky beak know where to find food without
some eyes? So we'll just stick on a
wobbly eye on either
side of his head.
Brilliant. And you could also add some
extra detail to the beak, like a
stripe and a coloured tip.
Looks good, doesn't he?
Don't start clear off!
