In today's lesson, we'll learn the vowel pair of the OO and OO sounds.
Are you ready?
This is Langmaster Learning System.
We'll start off with the OO sound.
To make the sound correctly, follow these three steps.
Step 1. Push your lips forward into a circle.
Step 2. Your tongue should touch at the front teeth,
but a little raised towards the center back of your mouth.
Step 3. Push your lips into a tighter circle when you say OO.
OO is a long vowel sound.
Be sure to pronounce it at length.
Now, listen and practice the sound along with me.
Next, let's learn the OO sound.
Follow these steps.
Step 1. Open your mouth a little wider than the OO sound.
Step 2. Touch the tip of your tongue to your front teeth
and raise the back of your tongue with a little tension.
And Step 3. Keep your lips in that tight circle and say OO.
You can feel your belly bounce as you do so.
Because OO is shorter and more relaxed than the OO sound,
you need to make it in less than a second.
Watch my mouth again.
Take a look at these word pairs to see the difference between these two sounds.
