But I felt, the best way I can describe it is, number one,
I felt I was going through a tunnel of very, very fast
moving light.
And it was white light.
It was a real, it's kind of like if you're on a subway
and it was a subway of light.
And it was very fast.
And I talked to God.
When I realized what was going on, I was like,
I felt I was coming back.
So I'm Jennifer Farmer.
I'm a psychic medium.
I am an author.
I wrote a book as well.
And I have been working in the field of spirituality
and psychic mediumship, as well as healing grief
for over 17 years.
And I never planned to kind of get involved in this.
It wasn't on the top of my goal planning for my life.
And so for me, kind of coming to understand
the spirit world, the afterlife, and I've
also had my own after near-death experience.
And so I didn't know that that all kind of intertwines
for some people.
And I know as I look back on my life
that having the near-death experience
opened the door that I didn't even know could be opened.
And I think it contributed to my ability
to perceive the spirit world, to help people connect
to their loved ones, to have great empathy for people
and in the human world that we are in today.
So yep, and I still love my work.
And it's always exciting.
It's never a dull moment when we're
working with the spirit realm.
Well, my near-death experience is a little,
I don't always like to share about it because it wasn't,
you know, so my near-death experience
is a little embarrassing.
So I was a young woman, and I was party.
I was a party girl, and I loved to party.
And I had my near-death experience
because of being near stupid, right?
So I had a little alcohol, and I had a few pills
and mixed them up at the same time.
And for me, I know that that experience of crossing over,
you know, they had to come and pump my stomach.
And I remember, you know, kind of being in an altered space
when I came to.
And it was such a beautiful experience for me
on the other side.
It wasn't a beautiful experience on how
I got there because it was self-inflicted, right?
And when I was coming to, I just remember
sort of walking through this beautiful hallway
and this beautiful light.
And I felt love like I had never experienced before.
And it was so comforting that I sort of heard myself
arguing with God in my own way.
No, no, don't send me back, right?
Because I really, for me, it was a place
that in my near-death experience,
it felt better than anything I'd ever experienced on this side.
And for me, coming back into my body, I was a little upset
because although I didn't plan to overindulge and mix
the wrong thing together and it take me across
to the other side, my experience over on the other side
still stays with me today.
That I can think about and recall
that level of love and connection.
And when I can hold that presence of what it was like
for that, and I can't tell you how long I was there.
I have no clue.
All I know is they worked on me for a very long time.
And when I started coming to, I was in the hospital
and my mom was there.
And I remember waking up thinking, oh Lord, I'm back.
And so, I know a lot of people have a lot
of other experiences.
And so for me, I don't, I, because it wasn't something
that I would have wanted to do on my own.
You know, I didn't want to die at that point.
You know, it was kind of came unexpected.
And, but it came with a great gift.
So I feel like for me, I didn't make a big deal
about my near-death experience at that time.
Nobody really talked about it.
Not my mother, not my family, no one talked about it.
It wasn't until I was a little older that I began
to look back and see kind of how that opened the door
to my abilities to feel and sense the other side,
to sort of put me on my own path for spirituality
that it gave me sort of a takeaway,
but not immediately.
Because nobody, like no, we didn't have a discussion
about what happened on the other side.
Like nobody wanted to even talk about what had happened.
Or nobody asked me, you know?
And so it's something I kind of kept to myself
for a very long time.
And it's because I felt sort of ashamed
that I had made those decisions ahead of time
and put myself in that place.
And so it's kind of one of those things
that I didn't get to really feel the blessing of that
until later, several years later,
where I felt that love and acceptance.
I remembered that and I was like,
ooh, this is where we're gonna return.
And this is nothing to fear.
So I didn't see a figure, but I felt the best way
I can describe it is, number one,
I felt I was going through a tunnel
of very, very fast moving light.
And it was white light.
It was a real, it's kind of like if you're on a subway
and it was a subway of light and it was very fast.
And I talked to God when I realized what was going on
I was like, I felt I was coming back to my body.
And I literally said, God, I'm not ready to go back.
I want to stay here.
And I kind of felt this, not in human words,
but I felt this, no, there's more stuff for you.
No, it's, no, you have to go back.
Like I heard this gentle,
no, that's not your time to stay here.
And so I didn't hear, but I felt,
and it's kind of like what I think about the humans
and spirituality and people who are empathic.
We don't always have to have verbal words
to understand communication, right?
We can feel I love you.
We can feel you're going to be okay
without those words being said.
And so for me, that's kind of what I came back with
is like, oh, I have to go back
and I'm going to get to come back and I've got work to do.
And I didn't, so for me, I didn't see a human figure.
It wasn't until I really started to develop
my psychic abilities and really pursuing
what was going on with me later on in my life
that I felt like I've had a dream
where I felt that sort of all the deities
of spirituality and religion, this is a funny experience.
I don't share it a lot, again, because it's very woogly,
but when I started to develop my abilities
and I felt called to explore things beyond going to work
and raising children and all of that,
I felt called to look at energy and spirituality, right?
And I started to explore a lot of different religions.
I went to the Buddhist religion.
We have a lot, I went to the Hare Krishnas.
I went, explored all of them, just to study and experience.
And in that time, I remember I was at a real pivotal moment
in sort of my beliefs,
because I was like, ooh, I'm kind of going
and looking at things like I was kind of told
subconsciously in the church,
well, you should not do that, right?
That there's only one God and that's Christ.
And I think what was another blessing,
because I did have that experience
and I was more open to them,
I had a dream where I actually woke up
and I heard the sound of water.
I actually thought like water was coming down in the room.
I sort of woke up, I was in the days,
before you wake up and before you go to sleep.
And it's like I had a vision
where I felt this big round table
and all of the beautiful deities,
Christ and Buddha, Mother and Mary,
and all of the sort of deities
sort of invited me to the table.
And it was just a brief vision, but it felt wonderful.
And so I knew that that didn't come from me,
that came to me.
And I think that that's what happens
when people have a near-death experience
is there's a part of the soul that opens up
and makes us more receptive
and more attuned to higher callings of love
and light and peace and harmony and helping others.
There's just something that kind of we are in this world,
but because we've gone back and forth
between the two worlds in that way,
that we get to experience that there is more
than just what we do in the physical world.
So I am somebody that really nurtures my psychic abilities.
I'm very aware of when I get overwhelmed,
like having these abilities makes me more sensitive
to the environment, loud noises, smells,
TV's too loud, too many people all the time.
I'm somebody that for me to develop my abilities,
to nurture my abilities, to care for my abilities,
I have to have some spiritual practices
that allow me to sort of keep my energy charged up
instead of draining it.
And so in doing that, I do meditation,
I do exercise because it grounds me.
I do things in the physical world,
I don't just do all woo-wooy stuff, right?
Like I have friends and relationships and children,
so it's a full life, it's not just one part of my life.
It's all of my life and the way I control it
is through practice, I've learned how to turn it off
and turn it on, right?
Turn it off and turn it on, turn it off.
But there are times that it's on all the time,
but there are places like I don't really wanna take
my abilities to a concert because then I need to have
sort of like this beautiful light around me
to keep my energy sort of separate from other people
so that I'm not picking up everybody's energy,
if that makes sense.
Like I don't wanna pick up everybody else's aches and pains.
You know, I don't wanna hear all their thoughts
because I could, you know, I could,
you know, sort of we're all psychic beings at some level
and so I just have to remember to turn it off
and turn it on, turn it off and turn it on.
And know that I need special care, energy-wise.
You know, I can't get too drained.
I can't, you know, and if I do,
I physically usually get affected by that.
I sometimes will have headaches.
You know, if I read too much
or I'm working in the spirit realm too much
and not doing the other things,
my body will say, okay, we gotta step back
and we gotta do something that's more grounded for a while
so I'm not in my head so much
because we're meant to live in both worlds.
So that's more like do I have a sense
about kind of the world?
You know, I know that a lot of people
ask those questions right now.
I really sense that from a bigger level,
we're at this period of time in humanity.
I sense that kind of what's brought me comfort
is no matter what is going on, that we as humanity
and souls, we've been here before.
It may be with different leaders.
It may be with different health issues
and maybe it may look different.
Like for example, people talk about,
you know, the political realm, right?
When I've sort of tiptoed into the spirit and said,
okay, how are we gonna do in humanity, right?
Like, so are we gonna make it?
And what I get a sense of is that
to participate and be my voice of peace and calm in this
and participate in activities that are important to me,
but we've all been here before
and in some way where there's always been conflict
in the world and in our world.
I think with the fact that the internet is here,
I think that that brings everything so front and center.
It stresses everybody out.
So before, you know, if you think about past lives,
they had, you know, they didn't have social media.
You know, they had horses and guys that passed,
you know, passed messages, you know,
from one kingdom to the next.
But the sense I get is that we are all being called
to live at a higher level right now,
a higher level of love and tolerance,
a higher level of compassion,
a higher level of being the voice
that brings people together.
And we've all, you know, the human race has done this before
and that sort of what will happen,
I believe, now this is me, that spirit,
the spirit of love will prevail.
It won't be the way that maybe each side wants it to go,
but love will prevail.
I do believe that because there is so much destruction
on the planet where, you know,
our waters are being polluted more than they ever have,
our natural rainforest are being torn down.
I do believe that people that are more passionate
about those projects that they're important to them,
you know, can we all be mindful that we live
on a living, breathing planet?
And those are the things that we can be conscious of
and participate in, right?
Just simple things like recycling,
like, you know, recycling and redoing
and what's in the water and, you know,
choosing a vegetarian lifestyle.
Why?
Well, because, you know, mass food production
takes such a toll on the planet and we can be sustainable.
So, because no matter what religion you're in,
everybody believes in the afterlife, period.
Except if you're an atheist.
An atheist, sometimes I worry about, you know,
for people that don't believe in God per se,
maybe they believe in, you know, continuum of life,
but I always believe that religion is a form
that limits us, but spirituality opens us up
for including everybody.
And when there's difference, you know,
I came from, you know, in the Bible Belt where I'm from,
you know, we were taught from we tall
that if you don't believe our way,
you're not gonna make it on this earth.
And so I knew for me a level of truth
that that just wasn't, like, how can you believe in a God
that only lets some people in?
In my soul, I just didn't think that was right.
And so for me, I questioned my beliefs
and I believe everybody needs to question their beliefs
that you don't just fall in line with what you were taught,
that you are challenged with, what are my beliefs?
And if not, if you're not sure, explore them.
Try different religions.
You know, what I love about sort of some religion structures
is it brings a community together, right?
That people of like mind can bond,
that you can find a community that, you know,
that you feel a part of something, right?
And I do believe that's a positive thing with religion.
I just am not a fan where anybody excludes anybody.
I just don't believe, you know,
it's kind of like all creatures, great and small,
God made, you know, in God's form,
however you, you know, the love of the universe
made, you know, how many different people?
We got all shapes, colors, and sizes, and we're all enough.
We're all beautiful souls in this lifetime.
And so religion, I think you have to,
I think that if you are somebody
who is called to study religion,
that you're gonna study the afterlife
because that's part of it, right?
And that in doing that, I believe between you and spirit,
when I say spirit, I mean the big spirit of God,
it's bigger than even what the human mind can comprehend.
And I do believe we're supposed to have some mysteries,
right?
We have guides and angels,
and I believe God presents those beings to us,
you know, in a way that helps us
with our faith and our beliefs.
So maybe I didn't get to see Mother Mary, right?
But I wasn't raised in, you know, the Catholic religion,
but I was shown Christ's energy, Christ's light,
Christ's energy.
Why did I get that instead of that?
Maybe because my soul knows for me
to kind of move into my spiritual faith,
that that was empowering to me
to see whom I considered to be God
come into my consciousness and my presence.
So, and, you know, we are inclusion, not exclusion.
I feel like if we could move towards that way
that we as a human race could benefit greatly.
And even if we can only do it in our communities,
like I'm in a unity, like I go to unity now,
and unity is everybody gets in the door.
And so, and their belief is that love carries on
and the love of the soul carries on, you know?
And so that's what I felt
when I had my near-death experience.
I felt love beyond measure,
not in a hurry to get back to it,
but let me tell you, it'll sure feel good when I get there.
So I think that, first of all,
a departed soul is greeted by a being of love and light
with God, angels, loved ones to bring us to the other side.
And then based on that soul's journey,
they are, from what people have shared with me
from the other side, I think of the spirit realm,
like you have these beautiful stars
in the background here, like on our video.
I feel like these beautiful lights,
these beautiful lights are all sort of
having a shared experience together with us.
They're still lighting our way like stars do at night.
They're with us.
They are, and some souls are still developing, right?
So some souls are working on healing damage
that they've caused while they were human.
Some people are supporting their loved ones
by comforting them and letting them know
they're with them during difficult times.
And some people, it's kind of like they're in,
they're shining their light in the heavens.
And I feel like it's different based on every soul,
and then some souls incarnate.
But the soul fragment, I'm gonna call it,
the soul that, part of the soul comes through
and comes in again, they get to have a different experience,
but the presence of the spirit realm,
it's all is seen and all is heard and all is known.
So first of all, we need to understand
that the afterlife is there for all of us, number one.
Number two is that our purpose is to understand
that our life is here in the present now,
and that working with the afterlife, learning about it,
researching about it, studying it,
that afterlife is meant to bring us joy in this world too.
So knowing that we come into this space,
we'll leave this space, it makes us think,
because we are all going to experience the afterlife,
what are we leaving behind in this life?
I think your question was,
what do we need to understand about the afterlife?
Number one, it's open to all who seek it on this side.
We may have to get over our religion beliefs,
we may have to explore different ways of looking at things,
but the spirit world is such of,
of course, in my belief, I believe the spirit world,
when we, just like I had my near-death experience,
and for the people that I work with on this side,
helping them with grief and such,
the spirit world comes for two reasons.
One, to bring love and healing, period.
Love and healing, that's why they come.
The second part is they show that there is evidence
of the afterlife, right?
So I did experience it personally,
but then I got to see where, how their love,
watching people kind of like you doing an interview
where you're bringing knowledge to people,
I got to see people, like years of grief resolve
in like 30 minutes after hearing from a loved one
that they had a regret for because they had to unplug
the machine before a loved one passed,
and they had to make that decision, right?
And so, again, they come for love and healing
and evidence of the afterlife.
And if you're open, the other thing I would say
in working with the afterlife,
the spirit world by natural law can do no harm.
They can't harm us by natural law.
There's sort of this, sort of written laws
in the spirit realm.
They're open to all that seek,
who want to bring that healing in.
And in doing that, what I would say is that
if you are a person that is working to bring
more positivity in your life,
then the spirit world will show positivity.
You will receive their message
through the lens of positivity.
But some people kind of are afraid of the spirit world,
right?
They're afraid of death.
I know my mother was afraid of death.
I always tell her, you're afraid of dying mom
because my grandmother is there
and y'all hadn't worked all that out yet.
And also I would tell her, mom,
you're gonna have to work it out with mama here on this side
because if not, you're gonna see her on the other side
and y'all are gonna work it out together, right?
So I just know that some people are afraid of the unknown.
What I would say is the spirit world,
we actually know the spirit world
because we came from there and we will return there.
And in doing that, we can bring comfort
is how do we bring the spirit world closer to us?
If you are somebody that's living through fear,
like you're afraid of things that go bump in the night,
what I would say is the spirit world can't bring fear,
but if they start to work with you,
you may perceive it as something to be afraid of
because you got startled.
It may be unfamiliar.
And the other piece is if you do feel the presence
of a loved one with you, say hello.
They've made it through our realm and their realm
and into your consciousness to say,
hello, I'm here, I love you and say it back.
And they can't do any harm to us.
We can trust that they are here to bring evidence
of the afterlife, love and healing into our consciousness
and into our experience so we may fulfill our destiny.
I just believe they, I've had people
that on this side weren't great people,
mean people, I've met people on the other side
that in their physical life here,
they caused a lot of damage.
I don't believe that there are good and bad souls.
I believe there are souls that are evolving, right?
And so wherever they are in their evolution,
just kind of like in human form,
we have teenagers and babies and things like that.
Every soul is sort of learning and evolving
in their experience.
I don't believe any of it's good or bad.
I believe that your soul guides you
into your next level of evolution each lifetime.
And we experience different lifetimes
while we're in the physical realm too.
We have our lifetime of being a child.
We have our lifetime of being an adolescent.
We have a lifetime of where we are in our 20s,
our 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s.
So if you think about it, we have physical lifetimes,
not good or bad, right?
They were part of what we're experiencing
so much like in the spirit realm.
Two, the soul is evolving, not good or bad.
And some souls are working on different things
or they're not able to reincarnate yet
because they're still working on developing
whatever their higher purpose in their soul's calling is.
Not good or bad.
Our four-legged fur babies and friends
and the afterlife and animals,
and that's how come so many people will be
in like a meditation or a vision
and they'll be like, ooh, I had an eagle come, right?
Or ooh, they saw their little dog
coming from the spirit realm.
Yes, there are beautiful living souls.
So that includes the animals in the spirit realm.
I've even felt my little dog in the spirit realm, right?
She kind of comes sometimes or I'll have her on my mind
and it's been a long time since she passed.
It doesn't matter how long, spirit realm doesn't have time.
They don't, so it may be 20 years
since you've thought of a loved one
or your favorite kitty cat.
That because you got that kitty cat on your mind
and now you find a kitty cat on your front door,
it's kind of like the kitty cat in the spirit realm
said, let me let you rescue this little kitty here, right?
So you get to be a good guardian,
a good animal guardian on this side as well.
So yes, the spirit realm does include our animal friends.
At least it has in what I've seen.
Yeah, no, I'm of the belief that we remain the same species.
So human species stays human, animal life,
I don't believe we cross species.
I believe we're humans and we stay humans.
Like the soul is in one carnet.
So yeah, that's my belief.
My biggest thing about preparing for the future,
one is trust that there's bigger, beautiful forces at work
on our behalf, even though we can't see them.
In doing that, we are all asked to come from a place of love
that all is working for our highest good
and to do our very utmost to have empathy
for struggling souls, to give to the person next to you,
to have tolerance and to have understanding
that everybody's doing the best that they can.
And in the future, do your part to build your communities
that bring love and healing and light into your community,
even if that's just three of you or four of you
in your community, that you come together
for spiritual practices to hold the beautiful light
and love of the planet while we are going
through this big shift in people choosing
to work from a spiritual level in a human way.
I hope that's helpful.
