they married they got right to work and were soon ecstatic to learn that their wife was pregnant but fate had other plans as it turned out roy and vernita had been unable to experience the joys of not only that but the fear of losing the baby was present at all times and though roy persuaded vernita that everything would be fine this time he believed in it and it was likely because of this belief that vernita was able to give birth to a healthy and beautiful baby girl named stacy the daughter became the only point of life and roy and vernita are not particularly superstitious but after having stacy they believed that everything good that happened to them was due to that little black cat who had appeared in their home months before vernita you see brought a little black kitten into their home just before she became pregnant the woman found it abandoned on the street and felt bad about leaving it there in the middle of danger so she took it with her the husband made no objections at the very least someone would be waiting for him at the front door after work and as soon as the cat appeared in their home the spouse's lives began to improve and it was during this time that stacy was born without incident as she previously stated the couple desired to spend as much time as possible with their daughter even if they were not physically present so they installed a camera in her room to be constantly aware of what was going on with the little girl however it was the family cat not the camera who alerted them to the danger lurking in the room midnight the feline named by roy and vernita had become close friends with stacy and it was he who did something impossible to believe in order to save her stacy you see became very ill when she was six weeks old roy and vernita took her to the doctor who assured them that the child had a common cold the couple returned accompanied by their daughter and vernita put her to bed and left her in her room well she went to the kitchen to prepare some food her parents had also paid her a visit so she was distracted by them in less than five minutes the woman noticed midnight approaching her it was as if he was in a trance as a result the feline departed vernita heard a blood-curdling heartbreaking scream from her baby's room a minute later but what actually occurred vernita dashed and cautiously rushed into her daughter's room meanwhile she summoned roy to her parents for assistance and upon entering the room she witnessed a terrifying sight her daughter was about to drown the color of the child's skin had changed to blue vernita left her house quickly clutching the baby in her arms and jumped into her husband's car who was driving and they drove to the hospital her baby was saved by the doctor they arrived on time it was discovered that she had a severe viral infection the baby had respiratory problems and was on the verge of dying but her fateful fate changed and yes if it hadn't been for the cat if midnight hadn't raised the alarm the baby would have died stacy was not the only one who was saved by the cat it also saved roy and vernita's lives there was no telling what would have happened if the parents had lost stacy after all their efforts and trials in life stacy was completely healed after a few weeks in the hospital the girl was safe and sound when she returned home midnight on the other hand remained her personal guardian angel stacy's parents told her about this event when she was older the little girl was completely taken aback and couldn't believe it nevertheless she did agree on one point she was alive today because of the cat then roy and vernita were invited to a tv interview where they detailed how their pet saved their daughter and not only a country but the entire world was aware of what midnight had done midnight was a resident of roy and bernina's home but life doesn't last forever so in this old age at the age of 14 he breathed his last to honor him the family erected a small monument next to his grave midnight will live on in their memories and hearts forever and why shouldn't they angels exist according to those who knew his story and sometimes they don't have wings but other times they're hairy have four legs and are so pure that none of us can compare to them unfortunately many of us are incapable of appreciating them although if they did there would
