Hello and welcome to Salt Lake City. It's time to go bouldering once again and of course it's
World Cup time here for the women's semi-finals and finals. 18 degrees inside. So Chloe fell off
the move to the zone. Oh very nice. So it was tiring for the left leg that move. Yeah a little bit
but it looks like she figured it out so. Much better and she's, I think she's already got
that zone awarded. Yeah come on. Let's see how she. Oh nice. Easy foot swap here. This is much better.
Crimping the. Oh her nails are going to be aching after that one. So now you need to stand up on the
That was good press with that left hand which saved that movement for her. And again.
So tension-y all the way through this boulder. Crimping the edge. Oh quite high here. So yeah
let's see. It's just uncomfortable position. She should be in from here. Oh no.
Little bobble there. It's pushing her backwards around it. That's the top.
Great work from Chloe Koskoi. The time can be tricky sometimes. Come on Chloe.
All right she's into the position in this corner. Looks left. Finds the left foot.
51 seconds left for her. She finds the thumb. That's all she's holding on to.
Oh nice angle here. Come on. So Chloe's on the edge of the volumes now. She's crimping the volume again.
The edge of it. I mean catch it. It makes me wince every time I see this move. Because it
is fingernails. Look at this though. She's onto the left foot. Come on. Yeah it's easy. Come on.
Good work from Chloe. A top for her. And a big celebration. Yeah it's nice to hear from Chloe
Koskoi. Oh but it was a close one. Right back to the action. Agathe Calais. Now she missed out on
finals in Curitiba and was pretty disappointed by that. Didn't have the greatest the semi-final rounds.
Yeah she had a like perfect qualification round in Curitiba and yeah she missed
the finals there. It's funny how athletes start to you know you start to think that
they're favorites to get into a final. But I remember a couple of years ago no one really
knew Agathe and she's really come through. Yeah and she's doing really good here on the slab.
Yep the classic French slab climbing here. Which everyone talks about how good they are.
Let's see what she will do here. Will she use the edges?
Nice just standing up. That's confident stuff. She really bounced into that left hand.
She's doing really good. I know. Come on Agathe. All right Agathe looking very chilled as she
takes her hands off to check out the time here. All right up she goes. Come on Agathe.
Yeah we can see that this foot is quite high here. Yeah oh look at this deep breath. That's
the same thing Chloe Koskoi did. Just like oh gosh. I think it's just really awkward and tiring.
Yeah she puts all her weight on the left foot. Good work from Agathe there. Yeah
well figured out. Was that a flash? I think it was yes. Well Agathe. It was nice like
it's always nice to progress to another round and to have a chance to climb some more boulders.
So yeah I think she will enjoy her time in the semis. Yeah what a confidence boost. You know
you suddenly realize you can compete with the world's best 24 athletes and you know she's in
the game and look at this. And look at her. She's on the zone in her first go. Yeah straight through
here for Helene. Come on. And she used the crossing method here with with her feet and it
looks really easy. Super impressive stuff here. And especially don't waste that much time here.
Nice. Yeah we do have all four boulders now in action. We're sticking with Helene here as she
comes underneath the red volume. Impressive work from her. That's our split screen now showing all
of the action on stage. That's a flash for her. Incredible stuff from Helene here.
Yeah going for the dynamic one and not using the wall. Yeah she knew what kind of a boulder this
was straight away. And Agathe as well. She's into this first move. Nice. Trying to do a dynamic one.
Yeah smack the shoulder on the way down there from Agathe. Down on the bottom right.
Ms. Guillaume who's finishing off her competition on women's four. And then Chloe Collier on women's
three. Agathe on women's two. And then on your main screen and left. Kyra Condie coming across.
And Chloe Koskoi leading the way at the moment with a 44.1. Nice. Kyra is progressing really nicely here.
Come on. Look at this from Kyra. This is going to be a quick send from her. She brings the match in.
She was a second out of it. Let's see a full replay of Agathe here. I think she didn't get it.
Now this is the kind of thing that will and could be appealed by judges. This is Agathe's top.
Very very strong in that position with that drop knee. And then Hélène Gillet up into the position
as two American athletes on stage getting yelled at by the crowd right now. She's doing really good.
Could be two out of two for Hélène as well here. It's going to be two out of two for
Hélène if she can work out a way to match. Oh my goodness what is going on.
Impressive work. Oh nice work from Chloe here. Oh look at that from Chloe Koskoi. The first one to
latch the top of boulder number four. Hélène Gillet is having a wonderful come. That's not
going to count I don't think. No I don't think so. That right actually knows as well. That little smile.
Oh no. She's up and underneath. Kyra Condy launches towards the top now.
She's got to match it though. She does and that is definitely control from Kyra Condy.
She's trying to do it in a faster way. Come on Sophia. Yeah you can see now she put the knee
and it looks way easier. Yeah that shuffle over with the hips as well to get your weight underneath.
This is a big moment for Sophia Yokoyama. Didn't get the zone on boulder number one. Needs more here.
Drop knee. She should be in a good position. Can she make the match? Yes she can.
Perfect. Skin basically you can use to try to get some friction in there. Yeah but it's tricky
with this right toe hook because you feel more stable but if you try to reach
too far it's harder to put the feet to the left then. Lovely shot of that zone hold there. It's
very slopey you know. It's not a positive crimp at all. Come on Camilla. Yeah a bit more in control
now. Come on. Up she goes towards the top. Right hand, left hand in. Fantastic stuff from Camilla
Maroney. Perfect. Camilla flashed the first move as well. You saw the legs kicking in the background.
This is Mao. That literally was perfect wasn't it? Caught the movement. She went up with the right
hand on the slidey wall. You should go crossing or switching the feet. She wanted to go underneath
didn't she? Yeah. Oh no she's gonna do the foot match. There it is. Finds the dish with the left foot
and Mao now starts to go over to the left. She needs one more foot match.
She gets the foot match and then crimping the edge of the volume. Yeah that was also a big
reaction so we might see what happens. Yeah we'll let you know about boulder number two in
a minute but right now Mao Nakamura presses underneath with the palm. This is great work
from Mao. Nice. Yeah easy work from her. I mean we said she was good at slab climbing. We saw that
right out. I love that smile. Let's see this again then. So she launched up. We saw that. Wow. Wow what
a catch with that right hand. She's one of the strongest. And then found the right heel. I wonder
if she did it. She did do it with the heel in. Perfect. That is a very powerful way to do that
move. Impressive from Camilla. Into the blocked hole. Jib for the right foot to come. You need
to find the sloper with the right hand and then this is the big move of the boulder. Drop knee
to come in. Find that stable position. Nice. And that's two out of two for Camilla as well right?
It is indeed. Nice. And now be headed towards finals. It's another right leg move you know. I'm
sort of wincing now whenever I see that. Come on Georgia. Yeah she's deciding between using the
toe and the heel. Yeah it looks better. Come on. Nice catch. Now gets the toe in. Scrubbing
against the pink. Come on Georgia. Well we said it might not be her comp yet but she could turn
things around if she makes this match. Yeah. Yes she does. All right. That will give her a little
bit of hope here won't it? Yes. It's a powerful section. Oh Sofia just turns around into some
sort of pain there on the mats. Breathing deeply. It's just one of those.
Anon doing well here. She makes the little hop skip over towards the left and from here a lot
of people have made it from this position. Yeah so we saw that it's important here to put the
weight on the left foot and then stand up. Yeah perfect. Pressing down with that left foot. Yeah
she does make it easily. Good work from Anon Matsufuji. Her competition on women's four.
Yeah. She's gonna do it the slow way. Or try it anyway. Yeah I would say she's more of a static
climber. There's an appeal coming for Chloe Collier by the way. Zone on two. So we'll see.
There's a lot of action going on now. Right now you can see Mao moving to the stop section.
Yeah this is Mao's I think flash attempt here. Two hands on. That was quick.
Easy work for her. Yeah. You can see Camilla as well
on the last move. True it's all action isn't it. Well Camilla's gonna bump the left. Oh she
popped the foot as she went there. And Annie Sanders as well. She I mean one of the moments
of last year was watching Annie flappy hand moment on the slab where she did this bizarre
sort of rotation backwards with the arms and saved her boulder. She's good at slabs. I was
in the hotel we're staying at. There's a climbing wall underneath it and Annie was in the climbing
wall at sort of 7.45 this morning pre-warming up before ISO. And Giorgia Tessio you can see her
sitting on the women's number four on the top right of your screen. You can see the precise
movement from Annie. Everything looks in control. Yeah a bit of a master class in slab climbing
here from Annie here. Nice work for her. I think this might be her splash as well. Yeah I think
well the perfect start of it is for Annie. Come on. Deep with that left hand. Makes the adjustments.
Presses in. That's a match on the top. She came close before but gets it done now. So here she
goes. Comes up. So in. Reaches through. Helene has another chance here at this. Osh fell. Coming
through. She's going again. Listen to that support for Helene Gillette. She's already in second place
with a 69.8 as well. Yeah but she will gain so much with stopping the if she tops the third one.
Yeah she could be into her first ever finals as well. And keep an eye on Kyra Condy still in the top eight.
Fascinating stuff but some big names to come. So we'll have to wait and see. Osh McKenzie. I think
from here she should do it. The hardest part of the boulder is done. Nice tapes on her shoulder and
leg. Yeah that colorful tape. She's wearing that all season actually.
Up Osh goes. Come on Osh. Come on. Oh that's so good from her. Easy work for her. So job done for Osh.
Boulder number one. If you look at the scoreboard everyone just doesn't even need the toes
underneath to stop the movement. She's doing really well. Now this is where she made the mistake
before though. That is in control. Helene is going for finals here. Unbelievable stuff from her.
Yeah same as Helene. With the right foot on the upper volume. So yeah it works both ways. Yes I
think Helene just got it slightly wrong that first go. Right Emma. Very in control on that foot match.
She's on the dish with the left foot. Nice work from her. You can see her hips are really close
to the wall. Oh they are aren't they. Look at that movement from her. That's a lovely bit of climbing.
Trying to get as much weight as possible over that knee onto your foot where the rubber
will work. You need to trust the left foot to stand up. Camilla as well came close to the press
but we stay with Emma on our main screen. And again from here most people have done it. Yeah
let's see. She's not using the edges of the volume which is nice. Yeah come on.
Oh careful. This is the danger point. This last bit of stand up closes her eyes. That will be her
first ever semi-finals world cup boulder top from Emma. It's all blending into one catcher. I've lost
my mind. Apologies. All right Celia starts to go then. Anna Osh McKenzie on women's two.
Yeah she was 15th a good achiever. Easily into that first move. Yeah super confident.
Yeah she'll turn that shoe into an edging sequence. Oh drops here. That was committed
from her. I think she's deciding between crossing and yeah nice. She's onto the edge of the volume
then all that right foot pings. I thought she was gone but she saved it with the left hand.
Trying to make sure of as much rubber as possible. Heels down on this move. She creeps around this.
She's a bit smaller so she probably would need to stand up to reach the next hole.
Come on. Yeah easy work for her. Oh save the parmesan. So Celia from here she should be
all right. I think if you're a bit shorter through this sequence it's easier. You can just
come sort of underneath a bit and she gets it done. We will see some replays in a second
because Osh McKenzie. This is going to be Osh's top. Found the right hand. Careful careful with
the feet and it's the drop knee once again that allows you to do that. I think only Helen was
doing the top move without the left foot on the zone. Yeah that's not something that's mentioned
to me so I wonder if they saw that as a possible because they thought the athletes would be
launching up towards it. And then on Matsapuchi she also got a fairly quick send of women's three.
This is how she did it. Coming in underneath onto the friction part. Okay. Might be. And Maui's
going to get this done. Matches at the top. Legs kicking into a wall. Good work from her.
Impressive work from her. She's the first now with all four. Four out of four. Wow. And she's heading
towards finals isn't she? Yeah. And tap very often. Yeah. A perfect round for her. All right. Emma
can't get another perfect round but she can still top all boulders.
Yeah so far it looks like a bit easier than the final round. So yeah it might happen that
you will need all four boulders to proceed to finals. But yeah we'll see. Yes it's going to
be quite high scoring isn't it? This as we look at that scoreboard on the right.
A shake of Emma Richardson to Emma Edwards. His leg but that is given control there. And Annie
Sanders gets another one under her belt as well. That's three out of three for Annie too. It's all
go here at the moment. Catch it. Yeah. And the Vuvuzela starts to play in the stadium. We interviewed
those guys for the world's climbing club. So you can go and watch that. Yeah. Naili Mignon.
Making progress. Yeah. She puts all of that midsole on the red volume and then starts to
come up towards the top. Surely from here it should be hers. Breathing. Yeah look at that focus.
It's like you don't want to breathe yourself off the boulder do you?
Our screens then. So Zelia tick for her. And Osh is moving towards the top.
Osh McKenzie wrestles her way through to an easy match as well. I think there was a second ball
on the jump on her first go. Well we stick with Futaba Ito here. She tries to work out. She's
touching every single part of the wall here. Trying to get some kind of purchase on it.
Smooth stuff from Futaba Ito who starts off her competition well. And you need
lots of tops. You look pretty confident moving through that sequence. Yeah. I think she's close
to unlocking the top sequence. We can see Melody now here. Moving to the left.
Come on. Yeah looking way better now. And Annie on the top moves again. Looking better this time.
Perfect. Top for Melody. Come on Annie. Yeah she needs to play the right foot higher. Come on.
Yeah looking good. And there's the top for Annie. And a big support from the crowd.
Right. Miho Nanaka underway. She took a break in Brazil and she's back in Salt Lake.
And this is a really delicate stuff though as we know. This foot swap. It's all really about
this move I think. It's the hardest move on this slab. And she's done it. And look at that. Futaba
Ito with a top. She celebrates. Osh McKenzie is coming close on the right as well. And Zelia
Ravazu is on the last sequence too. All action here from the women. Miho finds that left foot.
Yeah and Zelia holding the top. She's one away on the center of your screen. She brings the feet.
Should be yes. Yeah but I can see now. Yeah Zelia was also close with her feet on the logos. Yeah
we're trying to find a replay of that. Yeah it would be nice to see. But they're like...
Osh McKenzie is on the right. Miho's been here for such a long time hasn't she?
Is this a flash go I think? Yeah I think so. She's taking her time. Yeah almost a minute
50 seconds on the boulder. Yeah nice. Relief from Miho. She'll know that that was so important. She
caught it on the screen. But this is the full story here. So right foot on. Does she do the
drop knee? Yes she does. And uh pretty simple from there. Top you were saying three flashes.
This is how she did it. Now watch the sponsor logos here. We're not implying that she touched
them. But someone was saying Mao came close. So oh you can see what they mean if she was pressing
against it. I'm not sure it makes any difference. But he'll currently. So she had the hand and it's
all about the sponsor's logo on the left. Let's have a look. She's touching it but I think a few
have touched it. And she's not pressing against the edge of it. No she's not pressing the edge.
To me that's that's not. And you can see Oriane on the second one doing the jump easily. Oh deciding
to do the heel hook. Oh the first one doing that way. Has to make it work yeah. Wow yeah it was
way harder now to put her feet to the right. Now will she jump? Will she spot the drop knee? She's
setting up for the drop knee. Yeah using the drop knee and easily to the top. Yeah fast work
Moriane. Doing a powerful thing. Yeah. But she's come back here and looks very relaxed. Super
confident. I think she's put that to one side for now. Yeah I mean it's normal that you come to the
competition and you want to win. Yeah. And she was really close both times in China and in
Kurochiba. So yeah something to prove. But this lady did win in Kurochiba and she'd love to get
two golds. Doesn't press that shoulder in this time. Keeps it a bit away. Yeah yeah better. Come on put
the weight. Yes yes yes yes come on Eileen. Gets the layback. Fighting hard still though. It's a good hold
if she can get it. Crosses. Makes the match. Full control as well. That's four out of eight. Oh she's in real
trouble then. She was shaking her head there. I think she knows she might be out of this soon.
Yeah but Melody as well she needed eight tries to finish the second boulder. So she will probably
need all four to proceed to the finals. Melody's a move away. Gets the left handed. Come on Melody.
Come on find the position. And at the top. Oh I don't know. It's one of those again. And she's only got
seven seconds. I'm losing. Yeah it was yeah it was closer than Helene but. But yeah. I mean look we
considering every other top has been appealed on that one. I'm we're likely to see an appeal come
through. But for now Mihona Naka will launch in. Tried to touch the toe. Now gets the toe. I don't need it.
Yeah. Then she decides it might be sensible. Has a heel. Come on Miho. Nice angle here. Yeah looking
down from the top of the wall. Just showing you how complex some of these movements are.
This is cruisy stuff from Mihona Naka. Don't use the. Okay. Yeah I mean it's it's in a bit of a
an interesting place that sponsors logo. Let's be honest. Full arm to. Oh no. Not going to be for
left it in a risky way for the last minute or just under. She knows she can do it. She just
needs to be precise on the top. Melody's leaving by the way. So she won't go again. Come on Ariane.
Come on. Come on. Yes. Come on. You can do it. Knee scrub. Backs control. Well that is again.
So she will quickly make that adjustment I think. Minute 18 left here. Come on Miho.
Into the 10. Minute buzzers about to sound here. She comes up with the right palm. Goes left. Come
on Miho. Come on. You can do it. Yes. The crowd know that she's a move away and this could be
a finals place for her if she can just make this. Yes. Oh the crowd go absolutely crazy here at the
CC because that should be a finals place for Miho Nanaka. Perfect. Drama at the end with that
cool down. So. Right. Let's have a look at the results then. Celia Abazu leads the way of Mao
Nakamura due to Kaoback in the top positions. Annie Sanders, Nally Mignon, Futaba Ito and
Osh McKenzie in our top six. And Ariane Berton seventh. Miho Nanaka our final place eighth.
Just pushes out a PB for Helene Gillet in ninth. And for Emma Edwards both of those getting the
comps of their lives in that position. Camilla Moroney at Gap Calais after that in 12th. And
Katia I mean what a round that was. Very high scoring as you said.
