A Win On The Final Day ｜ Man Utd v Aston Villa

Ready for the final game of the 2024-25 Premier League season and Manchester United take on an Aston Villa side, chasing down Champions League football. Mazraoui's got himself into the penalty area, pulls it back, edge of the box, Mason Mann! What a save Martinez, gets a leg to it, goes out of play on the far side, no it doesn't, gets in by Patrick Dorgi, Rasmus Hoyle drives to the byline, sweeps across it, Mason Mann with a second chance in 30 seconds and it's straight into the arms of Emi Martinez. Up towards the edge of the penalty area, plays it out to the right-hand side of Nus Mazraoui, Mazraoui back to Fernandes, flick round the corner, Mazraoui chops it back to Amad, Amad moves it out to Fernandes, Fernandes hit, it's straight through to Emi Martinez, well it's lovely football. Manchester United have gone, balls down the left into the channel for Mason Mann, he swings across it and it's Rasmus Hoyle arriving at the back post is Amad, it's just wide. Hayden Heavens stayed down here because I think he's been caught by the goalkeeper, Harry Maguire with some lovely footwork, shot comes in, it's out of the post. Pressure from Kamara, then he puts a bit of pressure on Matty Cash, Rasmus Hoyle has got there ahead of Martinez, Martinez cleans him out, referee shows him the red card. Corner from the right-hand side, he's swung in by Mason Mann, towards the head of Harry Maguire, head comes in, Rasmus Hoyle and he's offside. A little over to Bruno Fernandes, on comes Jonny Evans for his 241st Manchester United appearance, and the noise you can hear inside Old Trafford is for the Manchester United, number 35. Bayern Dier stretching, it's lost out, it's been curled high and asked to build a lead, no, there is a foul. It's out of the hands of Altai Bayern Dier. Cross it comes to Bruno Fernandes, Fernandes tries a clever one over the top, towards Ahmad, Manchester United lead, his eighth Premier League goal of the season. Christian Eriksen standing over the free-kick, bends one goalwards, dipping off the crossbar. Support ball from Casemiro, into the feet of Ahmad, he takes on Martsen, the referee says penalty, number 14 on his back, strikes it goalwards and scores for Manchester United. Here comes Christian Eriksen, outswinging delivery, finds Jonny Evans, goals just wide. I thought it was going to be a dream finish for the Northern Irishman. Referee blows the full-time whistle and Manchester United finish the season on a real positive, a 2-0 win against Aston Villa.
