Jourdan Blue has spent countless nights singing on the streets of New Orleans to support his girlfriend and young son, Jax. After a tragic attack on his performance block, he realized life is too short to not chase his dreams. With an emotional cover of "Breakeven" by The Script, Jourdan brought the room to tears and earned Howie Mandel's Golden Buzzer. This is just the beginning for Jourdan Blue!

No, Louisiana. I live in New Orleans.
And do you perform there?
I do street performance, so I love performing on the street.
I've had a lot of really cool experience through it, but it's also a struggle as well.
I go out and I sing from probably around 8 p.m. until 2 or 3 a.m. or until the cops kick me off the street.
It's what I do to provide for my girlfriend and my son, Jax.
Hello! Hi!
Hey, pumpkin!
It's hard, but I want to lead by example and show my son, you should chase your dreams.
I wasn't ready when I had him, but he's taught me that there's a lot more to life than what I originally realized.
Alright, Jordan, we are ready for you on stage.
How do you feel?
I'm nervous.
My teenage years, I got down the wrong path and I got kicked out of school.
Got myself into some trouble and ended up on my own at 16.
There was definitely a while where I was homeless and I would bounce around from friend's house to friend's house or sleep in bathrooms at where I worked at.
Until my grandpa found out.
He drove out there that night and picked me up and was like, you stay with me now.
And I've been with him ever since.
I would love to call my grandpa, if that's possible.
You want to put him on FaceTime or something?
Yes, please.
I can hold it up for you, brother.
Great.
Okay, okay.
Go ahead and make the dial.
FaceTime Grandpappy John.
Hello.
Hey, just wanted to give you a call, let you know I'm about to go on stage.
This is literally the stage.
So, I'm a little nervous.
Simon Powell and the rest of the judges, everybody out there right now.
Is this going to actually be on television?
It's going to be on television, you'll be able to see it.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
Alright, here we go.
Alright, well I love you so much and I'll give you a call after, okay?
Thank you.
Okay.
You ready, dude?
No.
How are you?
I am great.
And what's your name?
My name is Jordan Bloom.
And where are you from?
I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana.
How old are you, Jordan?
I'm 23.
Tell me or tell us a little bit about you.
Growing up, my mom was a cop, my dad was a lawyer, so naturally I was a rebel.
And I kind of got myself into some trouble and ended up living with my grandpa
and he's a big music listener and that inspired me to get into it.
I started street performing in New Orleans because I really wanted to just fully dive into it.
And as you might remember, at the beginning of the year, there was an attack on New Orleans
right on the exact block where I perform.
Sorry.
Are you serious?
It just...
It made me realize that there's so much more to live for.
Yeah.
That's what made me choose AGT. I feel like this is the best way to level up.
So there's a lot at stake here.
Well...
We always say on this show, two minutes literally can change your life, right?
So good luck.
Wow.
She's so good.
No.
Wow.
And what am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're okay?
I'm falling to pieces.
I mean, I'm in love with you.
The hair, the voice, your energy. You're a rock star.
You know what? It was like I was hearing that song for the first time.
Which is really hard to do with such a popular song.
But your tone and the way that you delivered that song was not only pitch perfect,
but everything perfect, Jordan.
It really was.
Thank you.
You know what's so interesting, Jordan?
I think you are somebody, maybe lost their way a little bit,
but like you said, through music has now found your way.
But you have such a distinctive voice.
You are so cool and you feed off the audience.
I love you.
And how you made me feel just then was actually amazing.
Seriously amazing.
Loved it.
Yeah.
You know, this is season 20.
I've seen dreams come true right where you're standing.
Lives change right where you're standing.
And that stage and that moment can take you anywhere.
This is just the beginning of where you can go.
Young men are going to the stars.
Who is that?
That's my girlfriend and my newborn son.
Oh wow.
Look at this.
That's his son.
Gosh.
And he's 23, right?
23 years old.
Who are you talking to?
This is his grandfather.
Your grandpa?
This is his grandpa.
You should be very proud, young man.
I love you so much.
And I'm going to bring this home to you.
That guy's going to be a star.
He's got really something.
Hi, man.
You excited?
Yeah.
