I've been totally spoiled this month. So I went shopping yesterday and received these
gifts from Sephora. It's a birthday gift from them, and they're both full-size, so I think
it's very generous. One is a lip butter. It's a shea and avocado lip butter. Looks like a very
hydrating kind of texture. And another lip colour, which is also full-size. It's a nude colour,
like a nude pink. I do think it might be a little bit light for me because my natural
lip colour is a little bit darker than these, I feel like. I might go with certain looks.
Worst case scenario, I think I could use it as a base for other lip colours because the coverage
looks very good. So I could use this nude colour to cover up my existing lip colour,
like applying a foundation, I suppose.
Before I dive into the rest of my day, I'm just going to quickly check my Sims game. It's the
free version, Sims FreePlay on the phone. I've been so obsessed with it. Maybe too obsessed,
almost. Today's lunch is shrimp and chorizo paella. For ingredients, we've got chorizo,
prawn, risotto-style rice, spice blend, a capsicum, a red onion, and a lemon. I have already
started to preheat the oven. We will be using the oven to bake the paella. But in the meantime,
I just have to roughly chop up the chorizo, capsicum, onion, and wedge the lemons.
I've got the just flavoured tin pan. I'm going to have one to go with my paella
as my dessert. It's sweet and salty.
Hmm.
Let's sample a few Asian snacks. Some of them I buy from Asian groceries and some of them I get
them shipped from China because they look very interesting to me too. This is a very traditional
Chinese candy. I think most people will be pretty familiar with it. It's the kind of thing they
haven't changed the packaging for like 50 years. It's a peanut crunch candy. The outside is a hard
candy shell. Super crunchy. Inside looks like this. It's filled with some sort of nuts and sugar mix.
I like it a lot. It's very fragrant, very nutty, very sweet too, but just very satisfying as a
dessert. This is something I found in a local Asian grocery too. It's called a sesame cookie
on the packaging. So if you open it, the cookie just looks like this. A very standard cookie.
The sesame is the filling inside. It's a soft scented cookie. There you go.
It's a black sesame paste inside. I don't dislike it. I think the cookie outside is very buttery and
crumbly. However, I can taste that very industrial vanilla flavor to it. It doesn't taste very
natural to me and it's also a bit too strong, which has overtaken the black sesame flavor.
I can't taste much of the black sesame, to be honest. It might as well have just been a sugar
cookie. That's a bit of a shame, but I like the concept because I really like black sesame.
But this is a five out of 10, I would say. Now, this is interesting. I bought it from China.
So it came a long way to get here. It's a spring onion savory biscuit with a nougat filling.
Sounds weird, doesn't it? I can smell the spring onion fragrance. So it's a savory sweet combination,
which can be quite magical. This is really good. The biscuit is definitely savory. There's no
sweetness to it at all. The nougat inside is slightly sweet, but more creamy, I feel like.
And it's quite light, melts in your mouth. Some nougat can be really sticky and stuck on your
teeth as you're eating it, but this is really creamy and smooth. I like this. And because it's
not overly sweet as well, it's not too much of a contrast with the savory biscuit outside.
Think of it as a little bit like a cheese biscuit almost, but slightly sweeter than that. And the
spring onion flavor somehow, I feel like really compliments it. So I do recommend this. This is
yum. Nine out of 10 easily. Last but not least, this is a plum with orange peel. Sounds strange,
hey? But plum is a very common Chinese snack or Asian snack, I should say. It's not too heavy,
but sometimes you just feel a bit bland in the mouth and you want something to kind of,
you know, just something. So like a dried fruit, I suppose, like a sultana or any dried fruit. So
it's a dried plum. And orange peel is also very common used in Chinese snack or even cooking
sometimes, or tea. I'm usually dried and seasoned and it's got a very citrusy fragrance to it.
Doesn't make it a very appetizing snack. So this is a combination of a dried plum and the filter
with dried orange peel. The orange citrusy flavor is super strong. And the plum is sour and sweet.
Not too sour, not too sweet. It's just right. I really like this. 10 out of 10 for me. So if you
see a plum with orange peel snack in Asian grocery, give it a go.
