Triple corks, big cliffs, street features. Some of the scariest tricks you can do on skis.
But what if I were to tell you that there's another type of trick that scares me even more?
They require awkward body positions that demand joints of steel, making most professional skiers
squirm to even think about them. This is Pierre, master of these tricks, and he'll be teaching me
everything he knows. What's the first challenge? I think we can start with the sur grind.
The sur grind. Pierre will be teaching me these scary tricks by giving in-depth explanations,
starting at easy and progressing the hard. I'll have to try each trick over and over until Pierre
is satisfied. Yeah, that one felt way better. He will then hopefully give me the stamp of approval.
Did that pass? Yes, it passed, yeah. This challenge will consist of four tricks that each have three
difficulty levels. As a professional skier, I will need to complete 10 out of 12 levels to pass,
including tricks where I land in scream and cement. Otherwise, I will have to officially
declare myself an amateur. We completed the first level of trick one, now we're getting into level
two and we're going to make it even harder. You can add a 180 out. Okay. The easiest 180 will be
on the right. What the heck? Okay, okay, I got it. It's just the front two for ****'s sake.
I don't think it counts.
Just the front two.
Yeah, it's been like zitching a little bit, but that's all right. We got the way and we got the
cross. We got the locked with the sur grind, so it seems good. We can go for the next level ----.
Did that pass? Yes, it passed, yeah. We've completed two levels of trick one. We're on
the final level of trick one and he's going to demonstrate what it's going to take. And now we're
going to go through and we try to get into the Mizu position. So I'm supposed to lock it? Yeah.
And then go boom. Right. Okay, so I'm going. Yeah. Okay, okay.
That was pretty quick. Yeah, you have to be really quick. Let's go.
Yeah. Not a bad first attempt. It's a little weird, that's for damn sure, but it's not as...
When he first pitched it, I thought it was insane. So what can I improve? Trying to lock the earlier
you can, so maybe sometime you lift up too much this one. Yeah. So it takes time to bring it back.
Yeah, yeah. Sur grind to Mizu. We've made it through trick one with three levels completed.
But I have a feeling it's only going to get a lot more awkward and difficult from here.
Goodness. Now we're going trick two, level one. What do we got? Keep sliding this way
and you push on this one, you push, you push, you push, you push. And once you got the snowplow
position, you can try to play with your knee to put more or less edge in the snow. So you can
carve like... What? In the goodness gracious. That was so casual. Start like this.
Yes, yeah, yeah. That would be like a caribou snowplow, kind of. What are we doing here now?
So we got the step of the plow. Yeah, we got the snowplow. So now we're going to try to go like
parallel ski caribou on the snow and try to take the little jump
just down there. Try to stomp and then you let you go.
Okay. Yes, yes.
I felt so much in my hip. Like I just felt like a sting in the hip. It's all good. The earlier you can.
Oh, this is, this is yoga. I have no confidence.
Okay. I'm going to stop being a little baby back.
It's all about the stomp. Like you have to do like a big movement
and then you stomp with your weight on. Okay. Now or never.
Maybe good. Okay. It pushes down. My goodness. So chill. So chill. What the ****?
I think we need more caribou practice because I can't even like ski.
It's a really weird way. There goes my first life. And if that happens one more time,
I will have to be perfect to retain my professional status.
But we can still try to go for the slide. Oh, a caribou slide. Yeah. Like that.
With the rail here. Okay. The rails here. I'm coming in and I'm going. Yes. Yes.
Did that count? I think you got only one ski on the rail. Okay. We go up again.
You can lift it a bit less. You took off the ski and click on again. That's what happens.
What happens? You've been pulling the binding out. And when you landed, it clicked again.
Is that true? I'm pretty sure we need to see the video.
But does it count? That's the only question. It's a new banger. I only know like Jasper Jaller
made it maybe. Like took off and click on again. So you're saying I might have created a new trick.
Yeah. I think it touched. I think it touched. Yeah. Good one. Proper.
Full gas. Caribou slide. Level three. Level three. Yeah. Yeah. That one was,
as long as you have speed, it's possible. That was such a crazy feeling when you're just like,
you have a rail underneath you, but instead of being like dead center under your boot,
instead, you're looking at what's touching the rail and you're like this.
Okay. Let's level three boss.
Let me quickly tell you about the sponsor of this video. Out of Optics. I'm wearing the
Out of Electra 2s, which uses their signature era technology. They have a battery-free sensor
that allows for the lenses to adjust tint in under one second. Ready? What happens when I
take off this sensor? What? That's mad. Yeah. It's pretty nice. Yeah. That's so great.
They also make the Bot 2 sunglasses, which have the same era technology. So you can enjoy
optimal vision year round. Thank you Out of for sponsoring this video. If you want to support
the channel, scan the QR code or check out the link in the description.
So now we can go on the third tricks, which is a J walk.
Kind of like this. And you can also do it when you are like backwards. So it does like forward.
With your tail. Oh, the tail. It's weird with the tail.
Yes. This way. Now we're going to try to do exactly the same, but to on the rail.
That was more proper than I thought. I can understand. I know that's a little difficult.
That's not too bad. Should we like, uh,
Yeah. Sounds good. Okay.
It wasn't beautiful. Not too, too happy, but I got the J walk, which is the most important part.
Right back to back. That's a little bit better.
On the back to back, back to back. So now we're going to do that off a jump. Yeah.
Oh my goodness. I mean, we can try to go for like five 40.
It's been really quick. No, no advice is just full send.
Don't go too fast.
What in the? That trick is freaky. And I will have to complete this level to have a life
remaining for the final and scariest trip. The screaming seaman. That was my first
seven 20 of the season. Maybe my only one. There were like a bit dead space in the timing.
And then you waited and that is okay. Yeah. So go here. No dead space. We focus.
Yes. Yeah. Perfect one.
With a big knuckle, but we're not gonna, we're not gonna say anything about that.
It's more like you do a little bit of the rotation.
You do the screaming and then you finish rotation.
So you think about doing the scream and then the spin.
Yeah. But you, you have to pop like pop a sideway, but you go very slow on the 180.
Yeah. You missed. Yeah. I think you went, you rushed too much into the 180.
So this time I'm not going to think as much. Just going to get those skis,
daffy them, daffy them out. Bada bing, bada boom. Get me inspired.
So this is taking me too long. I know I can do it. I just have to commit.
No juice on that one. Boom.
It's a yes. 100% validation. Let's go to level two then.
Let's go.
There's only one more trick to pass, but these final two tricks are by far the scariest.
Okay. So I'm going to take off and I'm going to cross the ski.
And then how should I be landing? Should I be landing with all my weight on one foot?
No, you have to land if possible on two inside edges and you land with both,
both foot, the weight on. Like 50-50. But before maybe we're just going to have a
few, few turns, cross legs already to just to feel more confident on the in run.
Tack, up, both weight, but weight on both ski.
He's so chill about it.
Yeah.
And do you think this is a safe feature for it?
I think it's the safest one. Yeah.
Okay. We try. I trust you.
Okay.
Like a shy one, but still one.
All right. He made that look so chill. So chill. All right. I got this. Trust my gut. Trust my gut.
Yeah!
That was crazy.
Perfect.
First scream and landing ever.
So now we are going to do a takeoff. So just like scream and start,
and take it out during the air and land regular way.
Okay. So we go here.
Yeah.
I'm getting my support here. Like you're telling me.
And then do I jump?
The way you take out will be more with the front one.
So you will more take out with this leg.
All right. I think I got this.
Pierre is just the chillest dude.
Let's go Alex!
This is your time, Alex.
You got this.
Yeah. Do the turn. Yes.
All right.
Easy. Easy.
Great.
That was chill.
Yeah. You see?
Yeah. That wasn't too bad.
Good job for today.
Let's go. Thank you so much.
That was fun. Very fun day.
If you don't already, go follow Pierre and go check out his next video.
