Smart Home Gadgets That Are ACTUALLY USEFUL)

Hey Harsh, do you want to recommend some smart home gadgets that you use on a daily basis? Sure, why not? Now we are going to start at the entrance of my house because here's where the tech begins. I have installed a couple of gadgets at the entrance itself and these gadgets are very useful and very smart and kind of affordable as well. So we will start with this gadget here. This is a video doorbell. It is smart, connected to Wi-Fi and here's how it works. So I will just press the bell like normal and within a few seconds, I will get a video call on my smartphone. Here we go. I have got a video call. I will pick up that video call and now you can see the video feed has started. Let me just mute that. Yeah, so the video call has started. This is the video feed that you can see on the phone. So basically, anytime someone presses the bell, I can get a video call on my smartphone. I can see who is at the door and this works via Wi-Fi. So I don't even have to be at home to see who has come. I can be anywhere in the world and still can get a live video feed from the camera that is over here. Now this is a 1080p camera, pretty normal quality and even the FPS is a little lesser than 30 FPS. I think it's somewhere around 24 or maybe even lesser. It's not the best quality camera but it gets the job done. Now there are a couple of more interesting features with this video doorbell. It is a security camera as well. Now because it has a camera, it works as a security camera. Basically, first of all, it will use AI to detect people. Whenever someone passes by, it will automatically record that motion and then I can see that inside the app. So it is connected to the Qubo app and I can control everything about the smart bell from that app. It also has video recording. You can use a micro SD card up to one terabyte and this will continue to record. So it will work as a security camera and you can also opt in for cloud recording which starts at 99 rupees per month. Now this product is obviously not perfect. It does have a lot of bugs. The app is not stable. Sometimes it doesn't record. So there are some bugs here and there but for the most part, it will get the job done and this does not run on battery. It is connected to the main power of the house. So behind this, there is the main power and you can also connect this to the inverter in your house. Also, it works with existing bell setup. You don't need to make any extra changes to accommodate this gadget inside your house. Now inside the house, there is a bell unit as well that is directly connected to the socket and it has a number of options in terms of time. So yeah, product number one is super useful. Alright, the next product is this smart door lock. Now again, this is from the brand Cubo itself and I kind of made a mistake while buying this lock. I went with an affordable lock and that turned out to be very slim for my door. The door is very thick and the lock is very thin. So next time I upgrade the lock, I will go for a bigger lock that has more thickness. But anyway, this is a smart door lock and there are a number of ways in which I can unlock this lock. First of all, there is a fingerprint sensor right over here and it works really well. 9 out of 10 times it works. Sometimes here and there it won't work and it has other ways to unlock as well. For example, here I can enter the PIN and unlock the door. There is also an RFID card which is right over here. So this is the RFID card. I can just tap the card here and the door will be unlocked. Similarly, there is a key as well. The key goes at the bottom over here. I can unlock the door via the key. There is also a USB Type-C port here. I will tell you what's that for in just a bit. And the final way in which I can unlock this door lock is with my smartphone. So it connects to the Cubo app. I can use my smartphone to unlock this door lock. Now this door lock is not a Wi-Fi enabled door lock. It is a Bluetooth door lock. So if I have to unlock it via my smartphone, I will have to be in Bluetooth range. So it's not like I can unlock this door lock from anywhere in the world. I will have to be in Bluetooth range. But there is a solution for that and that solution is this product. The Wi-Fi lock gateway. So this is an additional product that one can buy to unlock this door lock from anywhere in the world. Basically, this gateway will connect to the Wi-Fi and then it will send a Bluetooth signal to this lock. So this gateway needs to be in Bluetooth range of this lock and then you can control the lock from anywhere in the world. So yeah, this gateway option is there. Now this lock runs on battery. It doesn't connect to the main power. So there are four AA batteries over here and you know these batteries are the ones which power the lock. Now if you run out of battery and if you want to unlock this lock, then you can use the key or you can use the USB type C port, connect a power bank over there or any sort of power source via the USB type C port and then you can unlock the lock. So they have given a lot of options. It's not like you will be locked out. They have given a lot of options. Also there's one more neat thing over here that this is the privacy lock. If I turn on this privacy lock, then no one will be able to open the lock from outside until and unless I open it from inside. So that is a really neat thing as well. Even if someone knows the pin or has you know the key or something like that, they won't be able to open it because I've turned on the privacy lock. So it has a lot of smart features. It works really well. I've not noticed any issues with it whatsoever. I've been using it for approximately six to seven months and the So yeah, this product is also highly recommended. Now the next smart product is above me. So this is a smart BLDC fan. BLDC means brushless direct current motor. It is kind of different to normal induction motor fans. So BLDC motors are way more efficient and smart as compared to normal induction motors. In terms of electricity consumption, there is a difference of more than half. Now I have been using this fan since a lot of months. It works really well. It is smart in the sense that you can control it via a remote. So here is the remote of the fan. It has a number of features. I can change the speed. I can put it in reverse mode. I can put it in sleep mode. A lot of features. Now I have done a full review of this fan. This is from a company called Polycab. It is the Polycab Silencer Mini. I have done a full review of it. Trust me, it is super smart and super efficient. Now the next smart product is behind me below on the ground. Let me show it to you. I'll just pick it up. It's kind of heavy. But here we go. This is the Robot Vacuum Cleaner. Now this is from Xiaomi. They launched it somewhere around COVID during the first lockdown. Because during that time, this product was super useful. So they launched it, sent it to me and I have been using it since then. So yeah, I have been using this Robot Vacuum Cleaner since a couple of years and it is a super useful and super smart product. Now to put it to work, I can use the Mi Home app. There are a number of options over here. First, we have modes, vacuum and mop mode. I can either choose vacuum only, vacuum and mop or mop only. So all the modes are there. And then there is the, you know, suction power. There is standard, silent, medium and turbo. There is also an option called as water level for the mop. You can go low, medium or high. I always choose medium. So to start it, I will just press start. And here we go. It has started. Now this is not at its dock. So it will take some time to analyze where it is. And then you know, it will start cleaning the floor. So let it do its work. Now I'm going to put it on silent. And while it is doing the cleaning, let me tell you about some of the cool features. Now, first and foremost, I want to talk about obstacle detection. So this is a smart robot vacuum cleaner. It will automatically detect obstacles and it will go around them and then form a map of your house. Once the mapping is done correctly, then the cleaning process becomes very simple. Now there are a couple of things to note over here. If you have footwear lying around or a doormat or something lying around, then you will have to remove those before starting the cleaning because sometimes it will get stuck on the doormat or it will get stuck on the footwear. Basically, you will just have to ready the house before you use this. Just pick up whatever is there on the floor so that it doesn't get stuck in those small obstacles. And this kind of struggles with corners as well. So this is a round vacuum cleaner and normally we have corners which are square. So in that case, it won't go to the full corner and in the corner there will be some dust left. So that is also a problem that I have faced with this vacuum cleaner. Now I know in India, people hire house help to clean the floor and all and that is more effective as well as affordable. But the convenience that this gadget offers is incredible. Now for that, I have recorded a live example when this product was super useful. So I'm just going to play that for you now. All right, so right now there are some guests coming over at our house and we just want to quickly clean the floor because there's a lot of dust here because we were making food and some other stuff and it was also raining outside. It's still raining. So a lot of dust came in. The house help came in the morning and after that there's been a lot of dust. So because guests are coming, I'm just going to quickly do a very quick vacuum plus mop. Standard vacuum, no. I'll just do it medium vacuum, not turbo. Water level also medium. That's what I want. As you can also see, it has mapped the entire house. So let me just quickly press the start button over here. Start. And now the vacuum cleaner is here. It will just start and here we go. So in such scenarios where there are guests coming over or if you want to quickly, you know, just clean the floor, in those scenarios, this little gadget is super helpful because while you're doing other work, you can just, you know, turn it on and it will clean the entire floor and within, say, 15 to 20 minutes, you will have the floor clean. So very useful in this scenario. Now, Xiaomi has also sent me their latest robot vacuum cleaner. This is the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10 and this offers some incredible upgrades over that product. First of all, this one is matte and that one is glossy and attracts a lot of dust. So finally, they have fixed that. It's matte. It also has better suction power, better mapping and in general, an upgrade over that product. So if you want to buy a new robot vacuum cleaner from Xiaomi, this is the one to go for. Now, I have not unboxed this as of yet because this one is working really well for me. Maybe in the next couple of days or next couple of weeks, I will unbox and start using this. But this is one of those smart home products that is actually useful and you will get to know about that after you get the product. Now, the final smart home product that I want to talk about is this little guy. So this is an air purifier plus a bladeless fan from Dyson. It's a very good product. But the reason why I am showing this product is because of the air purifier. We live in a country where the air quality index is not that great and during specific seasons, the air quality index goes very bad. So having an air purifier inside your home does make sense because the air quality index is not that good. So you can go for affordable air purifier as well. It's not like you have to buy Dyson. Dyson obviously is great and one of the best out there. But you can go with air purifiers from other companies as well. But having an air purifier inside your home is extremely important. You can keep it in your bedroom or in the living room or both because that will give you the best experience. Air purifiers that do smart air purifiers that will connect to a smartphone app and will give you So these were some of the smartphone gadgets that I use on a daily basis and they have made a big impact in my life. They are useful, they are smart and they work really well. I did not want to show smart lights, smart speakers because everyone knows about those products and also automation products. People do know about them. But these are some of the smartphone gadgets that are actually useful and you can definitely accommodate them in your day-to-day life.
