It's intimidating cooking with him for sure, so I let him do all that. Selena Gomez, today is such a big day, you're receiving such a special award, everything that you have done in your career is purposeful and mindful. Has that been something along the way that you have been like, okay, I want to be a star, I want to wear the clothes, and I want to do these things, but it has to be this way? No, I think it's not that I wanted it to always be about that stuff. I think it's so important for me to include the fact that it's hard work and that these women are fighting, especially now more than ever, for their rights, for equality. And I'm so grateful that I'm recognized for my work in that. So the pretty dresses and all that's nice, but you're right, this is the meat of it all. I remember my first interview with you 16 years ago, even though we're both 21, which is like crazy, but I remember walking in the room and being like, wow, this is an old soul, because you had a very quiet confidence, but now having watched you all these years, watching the documentary, seeing you in this fabulous era, was that a real confidence? Were you just faking it till you made it? Because it feels different now. I think it's because it's a bit more authentic now, because when you get older, you start to understand who you are a lot more. And I think when I was younger, I just wanted to keep a brave face on for so many people that did look up to me. But yeah, not everyone has it all together. That is true. Do you feel like, oh my God, I'm getting my flowers? Not to Miley Cyrus it, but like, what a frickin' era of Selena Gomez. Only Murders is so good. Mabel, you have Eva Longoria doing the version of you. This movie is incredible. I mean, you're just, what a time. You even get enough sleep to be able to digest this? Not necessarily, but I do enjoy it. I have my best friend here with me today, so she's here to celebrate. I just try to find the normalcy in it all. It is wild. Now, this movie in particular, I feel like Hollywood has not allowed you to play as much dirty, grimy, bad, you know? What was it like to take her on? It was so wonderful. Again, I want to thank the director, Jacques Odiard. He actually knew nothing about me, which helped. So I was able to sneak in and kind of just be an actor, be raw, be myself. And he believed in me. I read a story that you had to not go to the audition. Your agents and stuff would be like, oh, we have this client that should audition. Tell me about that. This is so interesting, because I'm like, there's no way Selena Gomez even auditions. I was actually, well, no. First of all, I do. I'm an actor and I audition for a lot of things, but no, that's actually for a different movie. This movie I auditioned and met him right away, but for another movie, yes, we try to sneak myself in so that people can give me a fair shot. Why do you feel like they didn't give you a fair shot? I don't think it was necessarily that they didn't. They just maybe didn't know I was capable of it, and that's fair. And you showed it. I had to prove it. Okay. When you're in the shower and you're, this is such a weird question, when you're in the shower or like in your car and you get some alone time, are you thinking about, oh my God, like I'm in the Oscar race? Oh God, no. See, am I? Now I'm shaking. Now that's too much. I'm just really, I'm so excited for Zoe and Carla, for Jacques, for our composers. I just, I have, you know, big dreams for this, so.
