Since I quit my former job to live in a tiny house I have been on a journey to discover how I can design a more meaningful worklife.

So I think that a meaningful work life for many people, if not most people,
at the end of the day has to do with being of service for a cause that is greater than yourself, really.
Like that you are taking part of a story that is bigger than your own immediate self-interest.
And I think for me personally, I think that Tiny Living locked up a way for me to be able to turn my work life into exactly that.
Because I have for like 10 years or so, maybe more than 10 years, I've been very interested in this question about how can we move society in a sustainable direction.
That was kind of the cause that I wanted to dedicate my work life to.
But it was not until I moved into my tiny house that I really started my journey.
Because today everything that I do, like in one way or the other, has to do with this question about how can we move society into a more sustainable direction.
Like I'm talking about that here on this channel. That's actually what I'm trying to do here in my homestead.
So I'm exploring it for myself, but I also feel like I'm taking part of this discussion on a broader level because I'm reaching you guys.
So that is very meaningful for me to be doing that with my life.
And Tiny Living opened up the possibility for doing that because by living small I could live very cheaply.
And then it was easy for me to start this new journey in my life because I didn't need that much money to get started.
Because then you can just grow this business and grow this work life in a way in time.
And that was what I did. So that is very meaningful for me to be doing that.
And also because I get the feedback from you guys.
Especially in the last video I made where I talked about the struggles of leaving the rat race.
And a lot of you really wrote something that really touched my heart.
Because you really talked about how my struggles resonated with your struggles.
And that many of you are on the same journey and having many of the same considerations.
And it just felt so meaningful to me to have that community with you.
Because we can share so many of our feelings and our ideas and thoughts.
So I really really appreciate that about my new work life in a way.
That aspect of it.
And then I'm also very privileged because I get to also live off the presentations that I drive around the country and do.
Like I do so many presentations. I've done so for like 4 or 5 years now.
And it's a big part of my income.
And also there people are very engaged in this conversation about how can we move society forward.
What can we do with tiny living. And it's just such a hot topic here in Denmark right now.
And again it just feels very meaningful for me to take part of that discussion with other people.
Because it's a real thing. Like it's something that can create a big difference for a lot of people.
That's why so many people are so interested in it here in Denmark at least.
So yeah that's also very meaningful to have that in my work life.
And then also tiny living opened up the possibility for me not only having to do paid work.
So now I can work in the garden. I can build stuff.
And it just gives me a more varied work life.
And that is something that is very meaningful to me.
Because I'm the type of person who grow very tired of just doing one thing day in and day out year after year.
And now I get to always do something new.
And also depending on the season I need to do a lot of different things.
Like in the spring I need to sow out seeds and plant out plants.
And in the autumn I need to collect pumpkins and apples and what not and preserve food.
So I'm always doing something new and I'm never bored.
So yeah I think that I have a very interesting work life.
And I don't need to earn that much money to get by.
Which just frees up time for me to be doing more interesting activities.
And doing many different activities.
And then I also get to learn some valuable sustainable life skills as I call them.
Like being able to grow my own food and build a house and stuff like that.
Like that is also very meaningful to me.
Because you never know.
Like we are living in such uncertain times.
Because of the world economy.
And here in Denmark we have this extremely aggressive neighbor in Russia.
Who invades other countries.
And like we have seen submarines from Russia in our Danish waters only a couple of years ago.
And we are not in a very secure position.
Also in terms of climate changes.
Like you never know when a new system breakdown will happen.
Or a great attack from like cyber hacking or stuff like that.
That can take down our entire infrastructure in terms of electricity.
Like you just never know.
So in that case I feel like it's very meaningful to work on building this homestead.
As a way of living actually.
Where I can be more secure I think than most people.
By having this kind of security shelter in a way in this uncertain world.
Not that I'm afraid or anything like that.
But I think it's a good thing to be well prepared.
And also have the necessary skills.
Not only to take care of yourself in a crisis situation.
But also this idea like we also need to develop this future sustainable society one way or the other.
And one way of doing this is I guess by trying out different things.
Not just talking about it but actually trying out things.
And then be having this discussion around it afterwards.
So those are some of the things that I find are very meaningful about my work life.
That tiny living in a way made possible.
But anyways thank you so much for watching this video.
I really hope you enjoyed it and maybe found some inspiration.
If you're interested in more videos like this I have a lot of them on the channel already.
So you can just go and check it out.
But see you again next time.
