Hello dude! Welcome in Caravan Palace tour bus. Please, come on.
Hey, this is Zoe. Want a coffee? Me I want a coffee please. Okay, you can help yourself.
So I'm Charles, I'm a member of Caravan Palace. Here is Zoe. And you have Arnaud over there,
you'll see him later. Yeah, he's working right now. And we are on tour in the US for a month.
Quite a big show, it's for 24 shows. And we are now... More than half of it.
Tomorrow night in Chicago is going to be the 14th date of the show.
Or today. Today, I think. Today is today. We can have a jet lag forever. They're not mine. I mean,
I know that because it's the shop who went to Minneapolis yesterday and we killed it because
it's the best popcorn we had on tour. Like, every year we go there. And there's a joke around this
because it's orange jelly sticks. And normally everybody hates it. It's for old people. But me,
I love it. So every time I can see orange jelly stick, I buy it. Yeah, we kill the popcorn.
And here is some souvenir I bought on the tour. It's for friends or family. I love goodies,
actually. Every type of goodies. And this Jimi Hendrix
figurine is so nice. Charles Studio, when we record the albums, are full of these things.
Yeah, I love it. Yeah, I have a lot. And this is from a fan and we're still looking for his name
because look at this. It's a pin and you can put it on your shoulder. It's dope. We love it. So we
make him travel and he's like the Amélie Poulain. It's something related to this.
Actually, I don't know what she's talking about. But if you don't know the movie,
you don't know what I'm talking about. Quite a long time ago. And we should talk about this
too because it's today. How do you say? A raffle? Raffle. Yeah, because we got scammed yesterday.
No, two days ago. We were looking for a spare clarinet for the tour and our sound engineer
was somewhere and he said, oh, I think I find a clarinet Leblanc Classic II. Which is a great
brand, a good brand of clarinet. It might be old. Maybe we have to fix it, but it's still OK. So
yeah, buy it. And he didn't pay attention. He didn't open the box. And actually, it's not a
Leblanc at all. It's a plastic, like stupid other brand one. And so we're like, there's nothing we
can do with that. So we decided with the merch girl, Vivian, to make a raffle tonight and to
give the money to an art school from Chicago for kids. And yeah, and it's tonight. Make some
promotion. It was first a scam, then it became a great action. So no, we don't use it. But if it
was working, actually we could use it. But no, we don't. Yeah, of course. But I guess it's quite a
boring, it's quite a boring stuff here. Oh no, you have quite a lot of vodka, you have some wine,
a lot of water. Yeah, healthy people drink water. So that's what we do. This is my ad box because
it was quite a dream for me to have an ad. Do you want to see it?
Do you want me to wear it? Yes, please. I just bought it in Dallas. So it's a real Texan one.
Look at this beauty.
Where's your horse? Charlie wants a horse.
Looks good, right? Yeah, we all have the box. Oh, this is funny. Our light engineer, he's a
Dua Lipa fan. Yeah, he's a Dua Lipa fan. We offer this candle, a Dua Lipa one. This is quite a mess
actually. And this is everyone mess, so I'm not sure if everyone will be happy if we show.
Not very interesting actually. You have more in the back side. Oh, don't have coffee, but it was
from yesterday, First Avenue. They gave us a lot of merch. Thank you, First Avenue. And it was
their birthday or anniversary, like 55th anniversary. Yeah, anniversary. Mostly
salts and carrots and beers. A lot of beers. Yeah, beers. Wait, is there anything very interesting
here? I don't think so. No. Yeah, this is probably the most boring thing you can find,
but it's still good to have some vegetables sometimes. Oh, butter.
French people, we have butter. I don't know. Ah, I guess vodka, yeah. Are you sure? Yeah, more vodka.
Yeah, it's ridiculous.
Okay, still in my coffee. As you can see, they are all almost full. It's quite a quiet tour.
Yeah, because it's a long one and we need to do all the concerts, so
we don't party that much this tour. Food, what do we have every day? We have ham,
cheese. Actually, the very important thing is not here because it's in the dressing room. Now,
we have a George Foreman, how do you call that? Toaster. Yeah, we do this a lot. In France,
you call this a croque monsieur. We do eat that a lot, right? Fruits, vegetables.
Actually, we are on tour in the US. We don't live here, so when we want to go to lunch,
it's better to go outside and to visit the city. We're just here for a couple hours, so
it's an important moment in a musician's day to go out and enjoy a restaurant.
Then, in the rider, you have wine, mostly red wine, I think. Yes, some red wine. You do like
Red Bull vodka, right? Yeah. Sometimes the Red Bull vodka. The vodka, we don't use for the drinks.
I use it in the steamer to clean, to wash some stage outfits that can't go in a washing machine
and we don't have time to let the clothing, some places to clean it. So, yeah, vodka,
steamer, and wow, burning fresh. That was very fine. Throat cold, yeah, and coffee. We drink a
lot of coffee, actually. Yeah, we are coffee addicts, totally. Yeah, coffee and bread. Sounds
like Alcatraz food, right? Because we went there, not all of us, but yeah, and Lucas bring this
from Alcatraz. So, yeah, you don't have in prison, you just have like bread and water.
Actually, it's quite common, everything you got here. It's everyday using, you have it,
everyone has it at home. Yeah, because actually, we're boring, actually, that's what we try to say.
It's very common. Oh, yeah, I know they have cereals there. Yeah, they do mostly,
time, a lot. I think it's from Viviane or maybe our sound engineer, I don't know.
Yeah, I have a lot of cereals. Yeah, we have more beers and some stuff. Our sound engineer really
like antiques instruments and antique gears in music. So, I don't even know what is it.
What is that? Nobody knows. Yeah, looks good. I don't know if it's working, but it looks good.
It's a microphone mixer, old one. Oh, and it's a sticker a fan gave to us. We have a lot of
stickers, but we don't know who's that person is. Again, there's no... Oh, yeah, you said... Oh,
what about this? You should... Yeah, we have... Yeah, this is the thing. Interesting. We have
Tony's. So, this one is almost done. We had like 20 of them. Actually, it's not the American one.
No, it's... We thought it was Belgium and I think it's from... Netherlands. It's quite expensive
and very addictive. Knock, knock, just in case. No, he didn't. Are they clean? Yeah,
looks clean. Yes, number one only. Definitely. Yeah, number one. And you can brush your teeth
also. It's okay, because you can't hear it. We don't get it. How can the trash be this big
and the sink so small and so far? And yesterday I caught Arno. I was like going to the bathroom
and I'm like, I see Arno like this. I'm like, what are you doing? I'm brushing my teeth. No,
you can't do that. We don't get it. If someone has an explanation, we would like to hear it.
Oh, wait, you didn't say anything about that. It's mine. I got that in an antique boutique like
maybe 10 years ago on tour with Caribbean Palace. I don't remember where exactly. And it's for,
you know, you press, but it's very light. It's very convenient in a suitcase. And Laura is very
generous with that. Yeah, I made orange juice for you. She's like, okay, I'm doing it,
which is quite boring. You have to cut it, you have to press it. And also, yes, lemon can work
for a throat. But it's my, the song say diamonds are the girl's best friend. I think it's this.
And we don't have the word in English. I don't know yet.
Squeezer? No, a juicer, like a very antique one. Yeah. Let's go. I'm going to remove my hat.
No ghosts. That's okay. Nobody's sleeping.
No, no one's sleeping. So me, I'm at the bottom. Yeah. Because I guess I never experienced to
sleep in the highest level, but I guess I'm quite afraid of falling. So I'm good at the ground.
So, uh, we are doing for 50 years now and, uh, I never changed a blanket. Always the same
on the ground. They say that it moves less, but, uh, never tried because I'm in the middle
because I'm short. So if I have to go like this every night and when I go to the bathroom,
I could break my leg and I'm like, no. So yeah, middle it's convenient. And the worst is this one.
And some people chose this one. I can, I can understand it. Uh, they say that the,
the roof is higher, like the ceiling. I don't know how you call it. And for the tall guys,
it's more like you feel less, uh, I don't know. Yeah. And, uh, yeah, never tried the bottom.
Yeah. Mostly, uh, my tabs, my, uh, hip pod, because it's quite a noisy right here. So yeah,
this is a game changer. And, uh, what else do we have water?
Mine is very full. You want to see it? It's ridiculous. Yeah. I have like this,
cause I don't want to take it from the backside. Oh, this is my prayer kit. Cause I'm a Buddhist.
So I pray. This is my Juzu. I have my glasses cause I'm an old woman. Yeah. I have like,
there's so many things. Yeah. Uh, for the throat. Cause I cough sometimes because of the air.
So to stop coughing during the night. Uh, wait. Oh yeah. Uh, in case the pods are
no more battery. What else? Yeah. And Shushu. What's for the hair? Uh, this is noise canceling,
like old style. Uh, what else? Oh, the pods. And, uh, yeah. And this is for my lips.
And this is for my hands. Like the whole routine is here. Beauty routine. Yeah. And I think it's,
oh, and this coin, I don't know why it was here when I first came. This is all my, uh,
charger and water light. I think we, and of course, as we're French, we all have this, right?
Adapter. Welcome home. And, uh, she's not, uh, she's not here, but Vivianne or our merch girl.
So this is, uh, her badge. Okay. And it's, we discovered this yesterday. She get herself
a poster, quite a big one. And, uh, yeah. It's funny because it's a German one. It's written
in German and we bought it in, where was it? It was in Oman. Yeah. We had a day off there.
And I like the fact that she sleeps with this too. She's the funniest girl ever. Bye. Good night.
Vivian. Uh, nice. Uh, also her sleepers. No. Let me introduce you to this guy. Hello.
Welcome, uh, to my office when I spend most of the time actually. And, uh, yeah. Yeah. That's my
setup, which, uh, looks kind of my studio with, uh, you know, side screen. Yeah. Little keyboard.
Not much, but actually it works. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Kind of a writing. Yeah. I I'm trying to,
um, to keep, you know, uh, a routine the same as when I'm at home, uh, like, uh, one track,
one track a week. And it's not easy on the road, uh, especially for the years at the end,
after the concerts, it's kind of ringing, but, uh, maybe I should work with less sound.
It's always very loud into headphones, but yeah, you know, life and it's cool. I like it. I don't
know. It's quite, uh, um, how do we say a workaholic? So he doesn't feel comfortable,
comfortable if he doesn't play on his laptop for one day. Yeah. Yeah. It's all about
routine. It's because, uh, if you stop composing like for a month, because you're on the road
and you go back to home, like there's several weeks of, uh, I would say that floating,
you can't do what you want because you lost, uh, the sensations. Uh, that's why I'm trying
to be honest after how many days, 20 days of tour. Yeah. I'm getting a bit tired as you can see.
Yeah. But, uh, yeah, that's cool. I like it. Uh, we get naked here actually.
This is where we get naked, right? Actually here, it's mostly quiet. Yeah. Yeah. Except
we also, we have like the, our clothes like drying here a lot. So there's interview right
now, but you still need to have, excuse me, Charles. You're welcome lady. No, there's nothing.
Yeah. It's the dryer. So we put a lot of clothing here during the, when we're not in the, in the
Actually, it's all your stuff, right? No, no, no. Here you have like the,
the guys are like Lucas and Romain, they put their things in, but they're on stage now.
And yeah, and we, here you have the coat. So this is why we get naked. I'm like,
we take our clothes off and I spent a lot of time here like sorting things because we have a lot of
So this is the worst place ever. If you want to see where we have all the stuff. So which one,
this one. Okay. Oh, first crystal ballroom, more merch from a cool, uh, cool, uh, cool, uh,
venues. Some guys are doing yoga. Yeah. And here is, I tried to sort this daily,
which is Soriano. Let me show you. Oh, I don't know how we're going to bring this back.
Actually. There's a lot, a nice t-shirt from, um, uh, from Minneapolis, like an independent, um,
record shop. Oh, and this is mostly from Mexico, but not all of them. This is a very,
it's the crochet year. Actually, we have this robot. I try to keep all the nice notes we have,
but I think I've, I've lost some of them. Unfortunately.
Mexican people are so cute. They are giving so many gifts. So nice people. So this is a little,
backpack we have. Yeah. Very intense. And this is very cute. So there's this thing in Mexico
called the chimneys or something. It's a doll that they sell for, I think, uh, disabled people,
or I'm not really aware to it, but it's something we have to dig. And they, they made to the chimneys
robot outfit, which is adorable. And, uh, it's supposed to be, yeah. And it's, it's,
you can like put some light on. Oh, where's the second arm? Damn it. I broke the robot. No,
here you go. Well, as you can imagine, right? So yeah. Uh, they made, um, also like t-shirts
and, uh, yeah. Okay. It's not the actual band. This is why I didn't show it, but we have, uh,
some very nice drawings too. And some are already packed cause, uh, they, uh, uh,
and Oh, this is the magic box. And I have like plenty of things here. Like, uh, socks we had
Uh, these are stickers I get the stickers. Yeah. And a lot of drawings and more words,
sweet words we have. Oh, this, this is a, you can explain what it is.
Yeah. Yes. You know, of course, you know.
Okay. This is from one of our last, uh, video music. Uh, yeah. And the other one, what?
Is it the same music video? Oh, okay. Yeah. We have, we have, uh, a duck.
It's from the music video mirrors we released a couple months ago. Yeah. And more posters with
very nice notes. Sometimes they put it in French, but it's from Mexico. Yeah. We have like so many
things. So yeah. Thanks to the fan. Okay. This brave bitch. Yeah. I think it was for you. Yeah.
I'm the one. And, um, the box is actually from a very interesting guy. His persona.
Um, um, is a kind of a host in a Los Angeles theater and we went to visit it and we had this
box with very nice gifts inside. So thanks to him, Dale and, uh, Corey. Yeah. And, uh, this
is the persona. Thanks bro. So we keep the box. It's quite heavy. And, uh, this is a, yeah. One
of my favorite activity ever go to Buffalo exchange. It's a, you know it, right? Yeah.
Everybody, they have cool names there. Yeah. So it's a lot to care, but it's well sorted.
So we keep, I have a sort of a museum home now. And actually there's no, no everything. Yeah.
Oh yeah. I see. We have all the boxes over there. Thanks for coming. You know,
we hope you enjoyed the visit and, um, you should keep in touch and follow us on social media to
see what's next. And also you can follow our opening artists, Zyka, which is amazing. Also
on social media. Bye.
This is amazing. This is a cool gift. So look at this. It's so cool. It said, um,
it's a venue called the Echo. It's a great venue in Dallas. Who offered us this great, uh, goodie.
First show of the US tour. Yeah. And yeah, it was cool. Good surprise.
And sold out in Texas. So I quite, uh, quite happy of this.
