Ollie the Owl loved the moon. He thought it was the most magical thing in the sky. Each
evening he flew to his favourite tree stump and waited for the moon to rise. But one night,
the sky stayed dark. Clouds covered everything.
Where's the moon? Ollie hooted. He waited five minutes, ten, then twenty.
No moon, he sighed. Maybe it's gone forever.
Just as he was about to fly home, his friend Squirrel scampered up.
Still waiting? she asked. I don't think it's coming, Ollie said.
Just wait a little longer, said Squirrel. The moon is shy, but it always comes back.
Ollie sighed and stayed, and just when he almost gave up, there it was. A silver glow
peeked from behind the clouds, soft and full and shining. Ollie blinked in wonder.
