It's not as cold as I thought it was going to be.
Good morning people. No better way to start the day than with the rainbow.
Look how pretty and beautiful this place is. All right, tell them what we're doing today.
We are heading to Milford Sound. We're cruising Milford Sound with Cruise Milford. We hope so
if the road opens. Yeah, as of right now the back end of the road is closed due to like
some avalanche warnings but by the time we get there it should be open again because the weather
is beautiful and regardless if our cruise gets bumped we just go on the next later time. So
no big deal. We're just going to go and mix stuff up. We've been really looking forward to this day.
Oh my gosh, the drive there is supposed to be spectacular as well.
Gonna be some great scenery today. Yeah, we get to walk into the
the windows wallpaper. Windows wallpaper. Isn't it one of them? One of them I think. Awesome, let's do it.
Road trip breakfast.
Breakfast champions. Rotten eggs. We boil some eggs so we can have breakfast on the go
and we have a little bag of salt and pepper. Really good road trip food.
It looks like a bag of cocaine. Yeah, we could only hope.
Eggs with a view.
Okay, the most important stop of the day so far. We've had some amazing views but
we found the coffee stop. It's a pretty sweet setup. This lady has a van
and an espresso machine right in the back. It's a popular spot as well. Busy.
How long you been running this coffee stop for?
It's a great little setup you guys got.
Oh, sent me with the coffee. Coffee delivery. Coffee in this view? I know. Okay, typically I always get a
flat white. Dirty chai, so a chai with a shot of espresso. It is so good. I just wanted something
with a little bit more flavor. Tastes like Christmas in a cup.
These views are insane. So incredible. Great stop for caffeine and incredible views.
Lives up to the name, Muir Lake. Oh yeah, the reflection. So good.
This looks like from Avatar. Oh my gosh, this is so cool. It's like the clouds are hanging so low.
So many cascading waterfalls from these top of these cliffs. This gorgeous water flowing through
this river is so blue and we just passed that huge waterfall which just missed you to walk by.
Special place. So happy to be here.
Astra.
We were able to get on a later time which is great because the road opened and that's amazing
but we've still been stopping at a lot of stops along the way but now we're cutting it close to
making it to our time. We're gonna have to child lock Tommy's door and his window to make sure he
doesn't get out of the car again. Jack and I are a little nervous we're not gonna make it at this
imagine the boat ride being any prettier than this. The landscape is just spectacular.
We made it. 10 minutes to spare. I told in the car how you were gonna have to put your child
lock on your door and your window to keep you inside the car so we can make it here on time.
So many stops it's just wow so scenic. This is our little boat behind us right here.
Cruise Milford. It's like the smallest one which should be perfect. Look at the setting.
It's already a waterfall right behind it. It's absolutely incredible scenery. Look at these
mountains behind us. Yeah. Oh it's gonna be a great day right? Yeah. I'm so stoked.
All right let's go get lunch. How are you doing sir? Not bad yourself? Good. Thank you.
We got our seats. Everybody's comfy? Yes and it's not as cold as I thought it would be.
Yeah pretty great weather. No rain. It's great. This is gonna be so great. So stoked. Perfect.
With all the rain there should be lots of waterfalls. I think you're right. There's one
right there. It's that one. Since we had to rework our tropical plans because of the heavy rainfall
so we're so lucky that we got to be here on a day when it's not raining but the rainfall is like
gliding down all of the granite rocks. It's like hundreds and hundreds of like little tiny
waterfalls and big massive waterfalls. The water, the sound is kind of like more of a murky
color because of all the rain but I think like hoping on it we're so lucky to get like perfect
captain stated that this area gets over 22 feet of rain a year which is crazy and in one day you
get as much rainfall as London does in a year. Which is insane because London is considered an incredibly rainy city annually.
Also named after Abel Tasman, the Dutch explorer navigator. First European to sight New Zealand.
How cute were the seals? They were so cute. So so so cute.
We're about to go right into the park. We're gonna get soaked.
Mascara everywhere. That was awesome. I like soaked though.
Yeah I cleaned myself up.
They have tea and coffee and cookies.
We had perfect weather on the way out and a little bit of misty rainy weather or maybe a
little bit more than misty rainy weather on the way back. So we got all the elements. Felt like
we're really really in it. Oh it's really fun and I feel like this was the perfect size boat.
Everybody had space. It was the perfect size boat for the amount of people that were here and there's
plenty of like really good viewing areas on the boat. So 10 out of 10. Highly recommend.
This is great. You're a poet. You don't even know it.
So the boat's really nice. There's two different levels. There's indoor outdoor seating.
You can kind of move around freely too and there's views from
every spot too. If it gets too cold you move inside. You got free coffee, cookies.
Awesome trip like Sammy said. 10 out of 10. The scenery though here is...
I'm still so stoked for the drive back too.
Thank you so much. Have a good day. That was so much fun.
And now we get to drive back and take our time and go to all the stops because Jackie and I
were stressing on the way here. So we didn't get out of the car half the time for all the waterfalls.
Hey what a great day. I'm so curious. Well we were traveling through...
Are our new friends here?
So nice to meet you guys. You're so sweet. Thank you.
What's for lunch? Peanut butter jelly. Made by Tom and Jackie. Thank you guys for lunch. Thank you.
Tommy's got his laundry out to dry. My cleaning cloths are soaked.
We saw one Kia so far. They're a national treasure unique only to the South Island
of New Zealand. They are, wait, the world's only mountain parrot. Wow. Wow. Riveting. Riveting.
I said too bad he wasn't on a Kia.
So I'm trying to hike up to the top of this waterfall.
Not sure if it's open though because there's water flowing down the trail.
Look at this path. You have to walk across this log.
Made it on top. It's so powerful.
I'm tired. It's been a good day. A good day full of like excitement. So now that it's like
wearing off, I'm just fading a little bit. So we just started the Lake Dunn nature walk.
So gorgeous. So much moss through this little forest. Just like a 30 to 45 minute loop.
So green. Everything is covered in moss. Reminds me of Olympic National Park in the U.S.
So dad is the bird whisperer. This bird's been following us around. He records them and then
plays it. And you can hear him up there. Here he comes. The bird comes closer and closer every
time. Got some amazing shots of him. So we just arrived back into town. We're eating at
The Ranch. Mom's choice. She showed me the menu but I only saw all the beer options. So I was like
definitely in the spot. I'm excited. I'm hungry. I think I need to try the lamb because there's
millions of them. And what else? I'd like to try the venison too because we saw so many elk. Farmed
elk. Never thought that'd be a thing. And an early cold beer. Cheers to a great day. Great day.
Yeah what wine did you guys get? Well we wanted a red wine and so we looked at the cheapest and
got it. So that way we can get two. She said if Tommy asked me I'm gonna say I got the cheapest
so we can get two glasses. How much for your wine? The wine was $11.50 but whenever I look at prices
here in New Zealand because it you know has a dollar sign I'm like oh $11.50 but it's 40% off
when I convert it to USD. Everything's on sale. Everything's on sale all the time. Everything's
on sale. We've gotten our food. My dish looks absolutely beautiful. Lamb shank over mashed
potatoes and peas. This is like such a warm meal that you want to eat after a long day hiking and
being cold and on the water. So I'm so excited for this. Also I really wanted to eat lamb tonight
so I'm gonna go for a bite. Wow.
Oh yeah that's gonna hit the spot. That is so tender and warm and cozy.
Yum. I got the venison. Look how large these steaks are. It's from all the locally sourced
elk here which you see everywhere as well. I'm going in for a bite. That's better than any steak
I've had. It's so tender. Melts in your mouth. Gaming? No not gaming at all. They also have locally sourced mushrooms.
Wow fantastic meal. Mom great choice. I downloaded a bunch of New Zealand terms
and I thought it would be fun to play a game that I would give the term and they have to guess what
the definition is. I like it. I like it too. It's called a creaky dick. What does that mean? Say it for me. A creaky dick.
Creaky. Creaky. A creaky. Is this like a sports term? Nope.
A creaky dick. The jokester of the group. Okay. A scammer. He's gosh oh wow. Shut up. What?
Use it in a sentence. A creaky dick.
Wow. Doing the ton. Means doing a lot. Doing the ton? Doing the ton. Like can you use it in a sentence?
Doing the ton. Yeah doing too much. You're like you need to chill out. Getting close.
You need to chill out. You're doing too much. Doing the ton is driving too fast.
Doing the ton. Like quit doing the ton. Pedal to the metal. Pedal to the metal.
Stay tuned because I got a lot more. That was cute. What a great ending to an amazing day.
Everything today was so much fun and the views were absolutely spectacular.
I feel like we've just had so many fun times in New Zealand already and it's only been two days
even though we had to like rework all of our travel plans but thank you for joining us for
this video and stay tuned because we're about to road trip all the way up to the North Island.
