Minimalists are tidy and organized… but as usual, we break the mold. Spend 5 minutes with us as we give our space a much needed reset and see what it’s really like to tidy up a minimalist home.

Okay, here's the situation. Our home is in a bit of a mess right now, not unlike our
state of mind. So what we're gonna do is we're going to tidy up, we'll share any
thoughts or tips that come to mind along the way and let's see what we can get
done in a day, starting with this room.
Some of you may already know, we recently made a video about giving our desk
setups a makeover. Now ironically, when our space looks most presentable on
camera, it's also when it's most chaotic off-camera. Our first tip is to have a
home for every item to return to. Glow is a systems guy, so it's always refining
how we store and organize our stuff. A common misconception is that you must be
a very organized person to come up with systems, but the truth is we're both
pretty messy people. However, that's all the more reason to consider having
systems to at least help us try to stay organized.
Digital decluttering is another important part of tidying up, but that's
for another time. For now, we're just going to hide our desktop icons for that
Instagrammable aesthetic. Now that we have more floor seating options, we're
still trying to figure out how to distribute them around the house. We also
have a couple more tables from our old desk setups. We had guests a couple of
weeks ago, so we have the large dining table set up on short legs, but in
day-to-day use, we've been using one of our old floor desks repurposed as our
magic vault. Here, you'll see me entering the magic vault several times, but a
magician never reveals his secrets, so you'll have to guess what it looks like
would be nice to have our entire house neat and calm, we don't keep every spot
perfectly pristine for the sake of it. There are always things going in and out
to do in our bedroom except to fold and put away laundry, which we typically do
before bed, but we'll do them for this video. We'll even make our bed, which is
something we only do when we have special guests visiting, so we're doing
this just for you. And that's about it. We wish it took just five minutes as was
portrayed in this video, but the good thing about having a somewhat minimal
space is that if we put our minds to it, we can tidy up the whole house in half a
day, only to mess it all up again in no time.
