Hey guys it's Will here with WTF Car Reviews and today we're going to be
reviewing this all-new 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series 2. And before we
start I want to give a huge thank you to Scott and the rest of the management and
staff here at Lakeland Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Ram for making this review
possible. These guys have a really kind staff,
convenient location right off of I-4 and one of the more impressive
inventories in the state. So if you're in the Florida area looking for a new car
or truck I would definitely suggest checking these guys out and ask for Scott.
So for those of you guys who don't know the Wagoneer was in Jeep's lineup since
1962. It sold pretty well, stayed in their
lineup all the way to 1991. It was a luxury
SUV slash station wagon with 4x4. But fast forward to 1991
Jeep ended up canceling the Grand Wagoneer and until 2011
they didn't even have any rumors of releasing a new one. But starting in 2011
all the way to 2015, President of FCA was really starting to
hint at the fact that Jeep was going to release
a new Wagoneer after the 2018 Grand Cherokee was released.
But here we are for 2022. We have the all new
2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series 2. This specific Wagoneer is going to have 4x4
as well. But as far as front styling let's jump
right in. So up front you can see we're going to have full LED headlights.
They're going to be labeled right here. Jeep Performance LED right up front. I
love the silver aluminum housing over here for the
headlights contrasting with the black over here as well.
I like the chrome underneath. I'm usually not a fan of chrome but
Jeep definitely makes it work over here with the black contrast over here on the
grill. But anyway you can see we're also going
to have an LED high beam headlight and a five-piece LED fog light down here
as well. We're going to have full front parking sensing over here too.
A chrome strip underneath and you can see this white metallic paint
really shines in this Florida sun. But anyway continuing along we're going to
have more front parking sensors up front
with a full sensing over here. It's going to house your advanced safety features
and we're also going to get a front-facing camera and it's going to
have a washer too. Definitely going to keep it nice and
clean so you're always going to be able to see
out of your front-facing camera on the 2022
Jeep Wagoneer. But we'll take a step back and take a look at the front
styling one last time. As far as the hood we are going to get a
solid two-piece bulge over here on the sides but as far as this wheel
and tire setup, let's check it out over here. So here
we're going to have our 22-inch rims. You're going to see they are labeled
Wagoneer on the center cap. They're going to have a six-piece lug
pattern and they're going to be a black and chrome
contrast. Definitely think they're a pretty good overall design. Pretty
massive front brake caliper too but these are going to be 22-inch rims.
They're going to be wrapped in 285-45 Goodyear Eagle Touring tires. Pretty
solid all-season compound. I'll try to show you guys the tread
compound right over here but continuing along we're going to have our American
flag right next to the Wagoneer nameplate over here on the side. We are
going to get a running board over here too. Just a fixed running board
but definitely going to help make it a lot easier getting in and out of this
pretty large full-size three-row SUV. But we're going to get
smart access for the driver, front passenger, and the rear passengers.
We are going to get pretty dark tints out rear too. You're really not going to
see a whole lot but my reflection. But we're not going to get a blacked out
B-pillar. Everything's going to be body color but we're not going to get any
chrome down here too. Definitely like this black trim down
here. I kind of wish they continued it up top but
they did not overdo it with the chrome. We are going to get a roof rail up top.
It's going to have a two-tone contrast between
chrome and black and these pieces removed to give you functional roof
rails for your 2022 Wagoneer. But as far as the
rear wheel setup back here, same thing. We're going to have the Wagoneer
center cap, slightly smaller rear brake caliper. We're still going to have the
285 45 22s back here with the Goodyear
Eagle Touring tires. Really nice setup and of course we are
going to get the four-corner air suspension on this Wagoneer. And I
love how we're not going to have the plastic cladding on the outside.
It's going to be like a carbon flash metallic. Definitely makes it look like a
much more premium SUV. And as we see, we are going to get
full side parking sensing giving us a 360 sensing on this SUV.
And that carbon flash is going to continue over here. Definitely going to
make it look much more elegant versus a vehicle with
plastic cladding. But right here you can see your Series 2
badge. You got your reverse light right over here with a reflector.
But as far as these taillights, they're also going to be full LEDs. I like the
chrome strip up top. Again, usually not a big fan of chrome
but Jeep definitely made it work with this 2022
Wagoneer. But anyway, over here you can see that we're gonna have the Quadra
that's going to be the air suspension. More parking sensors back here.
This plastic cover is going to cover your tow hitch. But
right back here you can take a look at the suspension setup. You can see those
really fat Quadra lift air suspensions right back over
here. And we're only going to have a single exhaust tip
but it's definitely going to sound pretty good with this 5.7 liter Hemi.
And we are going to have a 6.4 liter Hemi available
as well. Definitely should make it really really sound good. But
we can start this 5.7 liter Hemi up and hear how this 2022
Jeep Wagoneer sounds.
Alright guys, so that was of course the sound of the 5.7 liter Hemi V8 sold by
Jeep for this 2022 Wagoneer. So let's check it out right over here as
soon as we can find this latch. But definitely appreciate that we do get
struts. Definitely a very similar engine setup
to the Ram 1500 we just reviewed on this channel. We are going to get the e-torque
system right over here with the battery. But we're gonna have
pretty powerful setup. Enough to get this SUV to 60 in around seven seconds.
Maybe even a little bit quicker. But we can shut this thing up
right over here. Take a step back. You can take a look at the front styling
one last time. And let's take a step over here and check out the interior
on this 2022 Wagoneer. And this is where it's going to really really shine. Before
we do that you can take a look at your mirror. We're gonna have blind spot
monitoring and a blind spot pocket. Of course it's also going to be a heated
mirror and the glass itself. Absolutely massive and I definitely like
this two-tone contrast with the LED turn signal on the outside. But taking a
step inside you can take a look. We're gonna
have some absolutely gorgeous soft touch materials for the upper part of the door
panel. Beneath that take a look at this absolutely gorgeous
gorgeous gloss finish wood trim. We got some aluminum underneath over here.
Definitely integrates perfectly with your aluminum door handle. Check out
it's gonna be damp too on the release. But we're gonna get a little bit of
gloss black over here. I think it looks really good with this contrast with this
gloss wood over here. Awesome super soft leather. It's gonna
be contrast stitch. Unbelievably soft armrest over here. It's gonna be
leather over here too for when your knee will often hit. This bottom portion over
here also also gonna be soft touch. We're
gonna have the alpine sound system. It sounds
really really good. But down here we're gonna have some storage. It's not gonna
be lined with felt but we're gonna have an absolutely massive area over here.
Probably fit like two sets of foot longs over here. Maybe stack two on top of each
other. So fit four. You probably fit a big goat right over
here and easily get a couple snacks right over here as well. Definitely solid
amount of storage on this door panel. But we're gonna have power one touch
windows for all four passengers. You can lock them up right over here.
As far as the mirror controls, they're gonna be four-way adjustable. You can
adjust them right over here as well. But stepping inside you're gonna see we
do have this running board. It's not gonna be power deploying but still
gonna be here nevertheless. No Wagoneer nameplate unfortunately as far as these
seats. You can slide them, lift them, recline them right over here. Four-way
lumbar control as well. But these seats are absolutely gorgeous. You're gonna
have very solid bolstering controls right over here. Pretty good
perforation. The perforations continue all the way to your shoulder. Definitely
gonna help these heated and cooled functions. The headrest is gonna be
unbelievably soft over here too. It's gonna be leather stitched. But taking a
step inside this 2022 Wagoneer, we can check it out. So we'll turn this
air down by a little bit so you guys can hear. But absolutely beautiful
interior. You can see the contrast stitching over here up top of the
dashboard. The steering wheel is gonna be a flat bottom. You got the aluminum
piece over here. No spokes. So this is really convenient if you want to drive
with your arm on your lap, arm on your armrest. It's a very, very luxurious
steering wheel. We got some wood trim over here on the outside with some
aluminum as well. We got the cruise control settings. We got the hill descent
control and the radar cruise over here. Right over here we can adjust this
digital gauge cluster. You guys can check it out. It's absolutely gorgeous.
This is gonna be a 10.25-inch screen. As you guys can see, we get a pretty nice
view of our tachometer and our digital speedometer. Underneath that, we can see
our vehicle information such as average fuel economy. We can see our coolant
temp, trans temp, oil temp, oil pressure, and battery voltage over here. Oil life.
You can see the TPMS with a digital speedo and it stays right up top. But
beneath that, we're gonna see our trip information. We can see between trip A
and trip B. Beneath that, we can see our navigation screen. So as soon as it
loads up, you can see your map. So at all times, you can have a heads-up display of
your map. Beneath that, you can see our off-road settings. It shows you between
your four-wheel drive settings. It shows you the height of your air suspension.
It also still allows you to see the tachometer at all times as well as the
digital speedo. But beneath that, we can see our music information. You can see
your messages so you don't have to look at your phone while driving. But my
personal favorite is probably just look at the digital speedo with the tach at
all times. But continuing along, we can see this wood trim really continues. Auto
headlights to be expected with fog lights. Parking brake right over here and
adjustable pedals. Really, really impressive setup. The steering wheel also
really nice to the bolstering notches. The 10-in-2 making it a really
all-around usable steering wheel. As far as this horn, it's gonna say Wagoneer on
it with the aluminum on the outside. As far as the horn itself, really aggressive
sounding horn. Pretty impressive overall. But anyway, as far as the start and stop
button, I like how it's gonna be outlined in aluminum. But as far as this
infotainment screen, we're gonna have our 10-inch infotainment. You can press the
home button right over here. You can see the map. You can see the phone settings
as well as the music that's currently playing. Up top, you can see the heated
steering wheel. You can see the air-conditioning settings and the
temperature outside. But when we press the media button over here, you can see
what songs currently playing. You can adjust between XM, AM, FM as well as the
phone. So if you have Apple CarPlay, this is the screen you're gonna see what
songs currently playing. You press the comfort, you can see the heated steering
wheel, heated seats, cooled seats, and you can also adjust the temperature to the
passenger's liking. You press this button right over here. You can check out the
map. So as far as the map, it's super, super responsive. It's basically a Google
map screen. Really high resolution as well. We can re-center the map. Press the
phone buttons. If we had the phone connected, we can see our phone settings
right over here. As far as the vehicle settings, we can take a look at them
right here. We can dim our mirror, hold our headrest for the second and third
row. Passenger screen, we can turn it on right over here. And as you see, we have
an additional screen for your passengers. I'm not sure if you can pick
it up with this glare, but here you have it. It's gonna show you the audio, video,
and the HDMI settings. We're also gonna have a fire TV option as well as
navigation. Pretty nice for your passengers to see at all time, as well as
cameras. So the passenger can see what's going on behind this vehicle too. But we
don't have to go through all of that. As far as the apps, we have Android Auto,
Apple CarPlay. They're gonna be wireless in this truck or SUV as well. You can
also choose between your heated and cooled seats right over here, as well as
the zone. And you can press your heated steering wheel button right over here as
well. We're gonna have automatic climate control, of course. Controls are gonna be
right over here with the vents in the middle. As far as this little area over
here, you can press this button and it releases a really, really impressive
size storage. We're gonna get our wireless charging pad over here and
enough storage where you can probably fit like five or six iPhone Pro Max's in
there as well. But we can turn off our auto start-stop right over here. You have
your lane departure alert, you can turn off. Traction control, you can turn off.
Parking assist, parking sensors, tow-haul mode. And right here, you can turn on and
off that screen as well. But anyway, behind that, we can adjust between sand,
mud, snow, auto, and sport. Right over here, this is gonna be your adjuster. Right over
here and right next to it, you can adjust your air suspension. Right next to it, you
got your park, reverse, neutral, drive, gear selector. Similar to the Ram, it is
gonna stop as soon as you get to drive and it is gonna stop as soon as you get
to park. Behind it, that gloss finish wood trim, beautiful trim continues. You press
this button and it opens up a pretty large cup holder area. It's gonna be
rubberized. You got these little pockets keeping your drinks in place and you got
a nice little slot for some coins where they shouldn't be rattling around. But
behind that, that wood trim also continues. You got dual individual little
armrests over here for your passengers and the driver. USB, USB-C. Pretty
interesting layout. You can close it up right over here. I like that gloss wood
trim. It really does look absolutely gorgeous. But we can open this thing up.
You can check out your absolutely massive, massive center console. I'm
saying you could probably fit like maybe like a 24-pack of like sodas in here.
Really massive amount of storage. Really a huge thumbs up to Chrysler, Jeep,
Stellantis for making this vehicle really, really impressive. We got that
soft leather trim with the contrast stitching right over here. So far,
absolutely amazing luxury SUV. Take a look at the window sticker right over
here. You guys can pause, take a look at all the features. Of course, you can have
the 5.7 liter V8 with the 8-speed auto transmission. We're gonna get the
10.25 cluster display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto. Really, really impressive
standard equipment. As far as the options, we're gonna get the convenience group.
That's gonna give us a 360 camera, heads-up display, second row manual
sunshades. We're gonna have the drowsy driver detection too. So this vehicle is
gonna have parallel and perpendicular park assist with stop, intersection
collision assist system, traffic sign recognition, semi-active damping,
automatic high-beam headlamps, heated second row seats, quadrilith air
suspension. So we're also gonna be paying 800 bucks for the second row
seating group. That's gonna give us the third row seats with 60-40 fold reclines,
second row captain's chairs with power tilt and slide, floor console, cup holders,
seven passenger seating, and the premium group. That's gonna run you about 3,000
bucks. That gives you the reversible cargo mat, foldable cargo shade, tri-pane
panoramic sunroof, adjustable roof rail crossbars, 22-inch rims with 285-45-22
XL tires, and a 10.1 inch rear infotainment screen. So we're also gonna
be paying about 1,200 bucks for the front passenger interactive display too.
That's that second screen right up front. But after a $2,000 destination charge,
total price can be sitting right under 85,000 bucks. So we'll continue along, see
what else we get for that price. But as far as the glove box, you guys can take
a look right over here. Really nice felt line glove box, pretty solid space. I'd
say you fit between 10 to 15 license plates. As far as this sunshade or this
panoramic moonroof, really impressive. We're gonna have a full moonroof for the
driver, front passenger, and the rear passengers. We don't have to open it up
right now, but as far as the sunshade, you can see it opens up for your rear
passengers. And we're also gonna have one in the third row as well. But that's
about it for the front seat, guys. Really impressive overall. Let's hop out in the
back real quick and see how much space is offered back there, as well as the
overall quality of the materials. Alright guys, taking a step into the back seat of
the 2022 Grand Wagoneer. As you see, the sunshade is currently up. Really nice
feature to have if you have like kids that want to be sleeping. You got the
soft touch over here for the upper part. Super nice gloss wood trim underneath of
the aluminum. Integrates really well with the aluminum door handle, and a little bit
more gloss black, and you do get a speaker over here as well. That leather
trim does continue over here, and a very soft leather armrest too. Power One touch
with the Alpine sound system, and very solid storage down here as well. But
stepping inside, we are gonna get the captain's chairs. We're gonna have the
perforated seats, very nice leather, and you got the armrest over here on the
side, since we are gonna get the captain's chairs. But taking a step
inside, they're gonna be reclining right over here as well. Let's take a look and
see how much legroom we have back here. So, really impressive space. I got at
least a foot back here, really comparable to the Ram 1500s. But right
here, we also get our 10.1 inch display for the two rear passengers over here. We
got third zone climate control, USB-C's, USB's, heated seats over here too. No
cooled seats, but that is coming under Series 3. Right over here, we got the AC
adapter and a 12-volt right over here. But beneath that, we got the cup holders
over here. Pretty interesting location. You don't really see that very often. We
got a lot of stuff going on over here for like the floor mats and whatnot, but
you do get an armrest over here. No center console, but of course, that's
available if you don't go with the captain's chairs. You can see really
impressive view out of the roof. But that's about it for the back seat. Really
impressive space, super high quality materials. Let's check out the third row,
see how much space is offered back there, and then take this brand new 2022
Wagoneer out for a little drive. All right, guys. So, to get into the third
row, you simply press this button right over here, and the seat pops forward for
you, making it really easy to get into the third row. You can fold the seats
right here from these two buttons right over there as well. But taking a step
inside, you guys can see when we pull these seats back, you have a really
impressive amount of space, even for the third row, really competitive with the
full-size SUV segment. I would like for these materials over here to be soft
touch, but it's nice that these seats do slide. You can slide the rear seats and
recline them right over here. Pretty luxurious. You got the USB-C, USB port,
and an air vent. But again, it would be nice for this area to be a little bit
softer. But as far as space, really impressive. Same thing over there on the
other side, but you can also check out that view from your third little moonroof.
It doesn't open, but it's still a very nice little area to see the sky. But
that's about it for the interior on this 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series 2. Let's check
out the trunk space real quick with the third rows up. But you double-tap the key
fob, and you can see your trunk does open right up. And even with the third rows up,
you are gonna have a very solid amount of space. You can fold the seats right
over here, and right up top, you can also see it's some additional storage over
here as well. And you got your crossbars for your roof rails right up top. But
anyway, we can shut this thing up. Really convenient area for the button. You don't
have to worry about reaching up if you're a shorter passenger. And it does give you a
couple seconds before it does come down. But you guys can take a look at the rear
styling one last time. That's about it for the interior and exterior on this
all-new 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series 2. Let's take it out for a quick little
drive and really see how it performs.
Alright guys, now that we've just about seen everything we need to see with the inside and outside of this all-new 2022
Jeep Wagoneer Series 2 4x4, let's take it out for a drive and really see how it performs.
First thing I notice is the steering. It is silky, silky smooth, and you do hear a
little bit of a rumble with that 5.7 liter engine.
Alright, stepping onto this road over here, definitely good low-end torque with this
e-torque system. You definitely get up to speed really effortlessly. Only taking it to about
2,200 rpm. It gets about 35 miles an hour. Basically zero gas pedal. And with this
air suspension, you really don't feel bumps at all. Right here we have a little
bit of uneven pavement and it really just hovers over it like it's nothing. But we got a little bit of a twisty
over here. We'll hit it a little bit quicker than we should. You should see the body roll.
Even with this air suspension, there really isn't a whole lot.
And we are going to get dual-pane windows in this SUV, so as far as the
wind noise, also basically non-existent. But you see these twisties, we're
hitting them pretty quickly. The vehicle does stay very composed. And the brakes, as soon as you tap
onto the brakes, they definitely respond really, really well.
Alright, taking a step onto this multiple lane highway, we'll lean into about
halfway once we get situated. Wow, really good low-end torque. And it does pull all
the way to about 4,200 rpm with about half throttle. So it doesn't have the most
sensitive throttle. I know the 3.6 liter V6 we reviewed with the Grand Cherokee L,
that was a little complaint of mine how with barely any throttle, we were going
to about 5,000 rpm. But this tuning is relatively conservative, so you're still
going to have a pretty solid fuel economy, and you're definitely not going to be fishing
for power with this e-torque system and 5.7 liter Hemi. But as far as passing
power, we'll lean into about halfway right over here. The car downshifts, and it gets
the speed really effortlessly. Very surprising torque with this 5.7 liter
Hemi. Even more impressive than the Ram Longhorn Limited Edition with the Hemi
and the e-torque that we reviewed on this channel. But alright guys, stepping out
into this road, leaning into about third of the way, light acceleration, daily
acceleration going to about 3,000 rpm. We get to about 40 miles an hour, we get to the
speed limit really, really effortlessly. And as far as visibility, I think it's
better than the Ram 1500. You sit around the same height, but it feels like a
smaller vehicle to drive because the steering feels a little bit more on
center. You know how I mention all the time with the GM trucks, I feel like the GM
trucks feel smaller than the Ram, even though they're the same exact size.
It's because of the steering. The steering in this SUV feels a lot silkier and smoother than the Ram.
Not to say that the Ram doesn't also have fantastic steering, but it's a 2019
platform, whereas this is a brand new 2022 platform, so there are going to be some
well-needed upgrades. And just cruising on this multiple lane little highway over
here, we don't hear any wind noise whatsoever. These dual pane windows do an
absolutely fantastic job isolating you from the road. And with this air
suspension where you feel basically zero bumps, this is an absolutely fantastic
luxury SUV. I'll definitely recommend anybody with a large family looking to
buy a full-size SUV that's a luxurious one to definitely check this one out.
But other than that, huge thanks to Lakeland Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram for
making this possible. Great group of guys. I'll definitely recommend anybody in the
Florida area looking for a new car or truck to check these guys out. And as for
Scott, I'll leave a link to their inventory and phone numbers below. But
other than that, thank you guys so much for watching. I had a great time making
