Having dropped my motorcycle into a creek, I now have to get myself back to safety.
God, here we go, here we go, come on.
Let's go, let's go, let's go.
All right, I think I'm, must be getting tired.
I'm doing stupid things now.
Oh my God, that was so deep.
My journey begins at North America's
most northern drivable point.
The plan is to ride through Canada and America
before crossing over to Europe.
From there, I'll make my way across Asia
and down to Australia.
New Zealand's southern most drivable point
will mark the end of my journey.
I'm calling it the big spiral,
and this is act three, across North America.
So today, we're gonna head that way.
There's an old abandoned fire lookout.
Needless to say, I did not sleep super well last night.
Well, that's not good.
What do I do now?
Hummingbird, wreck area.
Maybe we could find something to do up here.
Oh, another hill.
Oh my God.
Uh-oh.
You have to cross it.
It goes that way.
My map doesn't show that.
Okay.
Go over that rock.
Okay, I didn't drop it yet.
Oh my God, I'm wet.
Okay.
Case is in the water.
All the electronics are in there.
Okay, get up.
One, two, three.
Okay.
What is this?
Okay.
Let's get out of the water.
Okay.
Does nobody go this way?
Doesn't look very written.
Okay.
I need to check the case.
Oh, it leaks a little.
I don't want to go back.
I guess I should keep going.
Bag is drenched.
Okay.
Wow.
Man, this is all boulders.
I'm pretty sure I got to go the other way.
Someone stood up a rock there.
Why is that rock stood up?
There's something on the side.
Nothing.
There's nothing here.
I crossed the creek for nothing.
Okay, I have to go back.
I see kind of a crossing here,
but it has this steep climb out.
I should go back to where I crossed before.
Maybe I'll just double check it before I go.
Are you supposed to go down the creek?
What's the deal here?
Yeah.
I think you're supposed to go this way.
Thing is, I don't want to cross.
It's all boulders.
Okay.
I'm going to find my line through here.
Maybe I just avoid this rock there
and then just go right there.
Okay.
So this trail is 9K long.
So I could be in for a bit of trouble here.
License plate's still on.
Okay.
Do I really want to go down this?
I have no idea what the trail's like though, so.
Down this cliff.
Okay, I don't know where that rock is, but it's,
I should stay closer to the edge there.
Okay.
Good.
Didn't fall in that time.
Yeah, this doesn't look too bad.
Just a boulder entrance.
I think I want to go right and then I can get in there.
And it looks like dirt on the other side.
Hopefully it stays to be dirt.
Okay.
Oh my God.
But I know it crosses at least a few more times.
And as you go down creeks, they tend to get bigger.
This is crazy, man.
I'm definitely a little underskilled for this,
but I appreciate,
I appreciate the trail being dirt now.
Another creek crossing?
Oh no, maybe not.
Thank goodness.
Oh, you know, in the past,
I've been quite happy to cross the creek,
but that time I fell in and I was not so happy about this.
Oh God.
Just glad I didn't hurt myself.
Another creek crossing.
Oh, it looks pretty deep.
Have to go over those rocks there too, after the creek.
Maybe I'll just take a second to have a look.
Boots are soaking wet, so.
It's definitely deeper over there.
Okay, I should stay here.
It's like a rock slab here.
Okay, I should stay left.
That is really deep there.
And there's a boulder at the bottom.
Okay.
Glad I looked.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Okay.
Okay, now I have to get over this.
Someone's piled some rocks, which is very kind of them.
Oh, I think someone's behind me.
Oh.
I'll let him go by.
Yeah, it's pretty tough.
Oh, at least he acknowledged it's hard for a bike.
Oh my God.
Yeah, sometimes four wheels are better, huh?
This probably blasphemy in the moto world.
Okay.
More dirt.
Oh, he's going slow up there.
I caught him already.
Kind of nice to see how deep things are if he goes through.
Let's go around.
I have certain advantages.
I can just kind of go around things.
On the whole, he's faster, but right now I'm faster.
Oh, he does better downhill, that's for sure.
Oh God.
Okay.
Oh yes.
Okay.
I'm just glad there's someone else going this way
because it means that I'm not a complete lunatic, I guess.
There's other people doing this.
Another creek crossing.
I'm gonna have a look again.
Looks like this time it goes backwards.
It's funny, the trail started out so easy.
I was just like, oh,
just a nice little ride through the Alpine.
Okay.
So far, right is better.
Right.
It gets really deep there.
It's a rock down here, I just want to move it.
Stay right, stay right.
I might just hop out on the grass here.
Okay, let's go.
Yes.
Okay.
Oh my God.
Okay.
Up this hill.
Oh God, here we go.
God, here we go, here we go.
Come on, let's go, let's go, let's go.
I hit the edge, I hit the side.
I really got myself into a bit of trouble here, didn't I?
Oh yes.
Okay.
Oh my God.
Well, I'm glad we went uphill,
but cause now we're in the dirt again.
So, stay away from that creek.
Deep one.
Jeez, man.
Oh God.
It's, I guess I was in the second.
Not a good place to stall.
Something tells me I'm going to be
replacing the clutch again soon.
Oh God, this is lots of roots.
All right, I think I'm, must be getting tired.
I'm doing stupid things now.
I am having fun, but it's not going to be fun
if it goes wrong.
So, I just got to be cautious a little bit,
but also a little bit aggressive
just to make it through some of this stuff.
One thing I should say is
it's actually my uncle's birthday tomorrow.
And that's kind of why I went back into Alberta
cause he lives here and he's having a big party for it.
It's his 70th.
Okay.
And I can't get mangled for his birthday.
Anyways, my dad is meeting me at an Airbnb
and he's probably, he doesn't like my location tracker
and he's probably wondering what the hell I'm doing.
Oh no.
Okay, back up.
Think of those water pits.
You can't cross the track.
You have to choose one.
And I knew that, but I just got bounced offline or something.
Oh my God, that was so deep.
It just dropped.
Oh my God.
It's so deep.
It's the side-by-sides, you're doing this.
It's way deeper than I thought.
Oh, I'm coming out into a meadow.
Oh God.
I was so distracted by the meadow.
I drove right into this mud pit.
I wonder if I can get out.
Let's go back in.
Back in the mud pit.
I'll try about the end.
So, is this the meadow I came in on?
Cause that's where this trail is supposed to end up.
Oh man.
This water crossing is much easier.
I think I'm almost back to the main trail.
I'm pretty sure, I'm pretty sure.
Oh, one more water crossing.
One more water crossing.
Okay, this looks fairly shallow.
I think I'm good to go.
All right.
Made it through the water crossing.
Okay, okay.
Up here now.
Still not sure if I'm back on the main trail though.
Just gonna look on the map.
I must be, this road is so good.
Pretty sure I am.
Just don't, didn't see a fork joining up.
Yeah.
I'm back on the main trail.
Okay.
Oh man, that was a mission.
Okay, here we go.
Okay, I think I made it to the road.
Okay.
All right.
Oh man, that was such a mission.
I haven't done a ride like that in a while.
I feel like the last time was Mud Lakes
in the Chilcotins.
And that actually spit me out.
I'm glad I made it around.
I think it got harder the more I went.
Oh my God, that was.
That being said, I had fun.
Definitely pushed my limits.
But I have to spread those rides out.
I can't do those all the time.
That's pretty intense.
Okay.
All right, now I got to get to the Airbnb.
Oh.
Hello.
Those are not big horn sheep.
They're little horn sheep, I guess.
Oh.
Pretty sure there's another truck here.
Oh, there it is.
It's crazy, this dust.
It just doesn't move.
There's no wind, I guess.
And it just sits.
Hello.
Okay.
Oh, that's my dad.
Yeah, this is quite the Airbnb.
It's really out here.
It's just in the middle of a farm field.
Oh my God, what a massive day.
Seriously, massive day.
This morning, I was like, after my tent incident,
I didn't know if I was gonna get much of a video today,
but it turned out so gnarly.
Oh, I had fun though.
I had fun, but it was a lot.
It was a lot.
I had so much fun today.
It started off a little rough.
Last night, I was messing around the tent
because the wind was blowing it down.
Did not sleep well.
And then this morning, I was like, all right,
we're gonna have to do this.
And then I arrived at the road
to get to the little fire lookout.
And I'm like, oh, no motorbikes.
Oh man, this video is gonna be a dud, isn't it?
And then I just like, kind of looking on the map
and I'd seen it the night before.
I'm like, Onion Lake, okay, well,
maybe I'll go up there tomorrow.
And so I did and, you know, I went up the road
and I was like, ah, yeah, okay.
And then it turned into like the kind of the off-road trail.
I was like, oh, things are getting interesting.
And then you get to the lake and like,
oh, it's quite beautiful here.
And then after that, things went to 11
and I was like, I think I crashed the bike at least twice.
I'm pretty sure.
Once in the creek, once going up that hill.
Oh, I'm glad I didn't hurt myself
because lower leg injuries are very common
with a motorbike because the bike lands on your leg
and then you're like, something will snap, you know.
But, oh man, what a day.
That was definitely one of the highlights of the trip so far.
And also the views, it was like,
on one end, like the views were just amazing.
And then on the other end, you're like,
oh my God, I have to go through this creek.
I just dropped my bike through the creek.
How many more times do I have to go through this creek?
And all that stuff.
So, it was fun.
It was really fun.
I really enjoyed it.
In the moment, you're like, oh my God,
I have to make it through this.
I'm by myself, all this stuff.
But then you get out and you're like, kind of euphoric.
You're like, yes, I did it.
And it's a little bit silly, but I don't know.
I just like getting myself into a bit of trouble
and then seeing what happens, you know.
One day it's not gonna work out perfectly,
like it did today, but I don't know.
This is the game, I think.
And yeah, I'm having fun.
So, I hope you guys enjoyed it too.
And now this is the part where I ask you,
well, if you liked the video,
maybe hit the subscribe button down below, maybe.
It's always so awkward to ask that, but anyways.
Thank you for watching the video,
especially all the way till the end.
And I hope to see you in the next video.
Bye.
