England suffered their first ever defeat to an African nation as Senegal stunned the Three Lions 3-1 at the City Ground.
Harry Kane gave England an early lead with a poacher’s finish after Anthony Gordon’s shot was spilled by Édouard Mendy. But goals from Ismaïla Sarr, Habib Diarra and Cheikh Sabaly flipped the script as Senegal delivered a clinical comeback to hand Thomas Tuchel his first loss as England head coach.
Sarri's back to fence and out with Papaya Saka, much to the delight of the
handful of Senegalese fans that have made the journey, Ezra has won it back,
now it's Gallagher, it's still Connor Gallagher, Gordon, still Harry Kane is there!
Whenever, Harry Kane just loves playing for England and he loves scoring goals for England.
Quick, sharp and on hand, England make the breakthrough inside seven minutes.
Well it's really good play from Ezra, but Harry Kane we've seen him drop deep so many times to
set up play but one of the things that will never go away from his game is the fact that he stays
in between the posts and he picks goals like this up, same the other night, just right on the edge
of being offside, the arms go up, save's not the best but he won't mind, it's just on a plate for him.
Good ball by Gallagher, Pine Saka, Walker doing the overlap on this near side with a fizzing cross,
Anthony Gordon somehow beaten to it, feeling that should be a corner, the officials are undecided.
This is a brilliant ball in for Walker, he's got space, he takes his time, just look, far post.
Gordon gets ahead of his marker, De Ata, which is the hard thing to do to get in front but it
just looks like it comes off Gordon's heel. Yeah, I do have Jason Manford as the co-commentator,
here is N'Jai, on to Garner and Andres Agana-Gay is prevented by Dean Henderson
from equalising for Senegal. That's a good save, stretching and gets his shot away through legs,
sees it late, now he's on the search again, keeps it alive and Ismail Assa is arriving
and Senegal are level. The first team to bring Thomas Tuchel's England are Senegal
and after 40 minutes of this match at the city ground I don't think England can have too many
and Lewis Skelly between them have to sort that out, it's one ball over the top,
it's not a brilliant ball, it's just lifted into the channel and Diarra just got, look at that,
just runs into the channel, Lewis Skelly's been dragged wide, if that's the case then your
midfield player's got to help him out and neither of them get anywhere near,
Diarra is a good finish, as in he looks like he's going to square it,
Henderson comes out and they hold through the legs one, really, really good, it was Essing,
lovely flick to Morgan, Gibbs white, that's a really good save from Emre Mendy,
straight at the goalkeeper but he had to react, he chooses Gibbs white to put his laces through him,
looking for second, just bends it in that corner, he's at full stretch and it just goes past the post,
fingertips, localising goal with seven minutes to go,
Holwold, Calabell, both up from the back, there's a lurking on the edge of the ear as the cross
comes in from Madawaka, initial header, ball into a dangerous area and then it's just bits and pieces,
takes a little touch, they're appealing for a hand ball I think from Dalligan,
look like it hits him anywhere near the hand, you see from this,
off his thigh and he's not going to miss from there,
Colwell's action as a deliberate handball, which Stephanie Frappard is now going to have to decide
because essentially the VAR has decided that that is a subjective decision she needs to have a look at,
Levi Colwell, that's the question, the referee has overturned the decision, it's no goal,
England have denied an equaliser because of a handball given against Levi Colwell in the build-up
to Bellingham's finish, the Germans have been dispossessed here, now England have got real
trouble, I mean Kamara is steaming forward, he's got N'Giall on the far side and John Lennon is to
Barney, our second goal in this season for Mets as they got promoted, these supporters
are very different, we eat breakfast together every single morning so it's not like a tough
question, I've experienced that and you've got it next, that was my answer,
but how can we do it? Who's the fastest, me or you?
Hi guys, I'm Anthony Gordon and I'm Curtis Jones and this is Roommates.
