The Colour Journey's collection is Bulgari's voyage in the world of colour gems,
embodying the Maison's passion for experimentation.
Bulgari enhances gems known by connoisseurs,
continually setting new trends in the world of high jewellery.
The Mandarin Garnet was discovered in 1991 on the banks of the Kunin River in Namibia,
belonging to the Garnet family and a specetite variety.
The scarcity of the Mandarin Garnet is due to the exhaustion of the main sourcing site in Namibia.
For this reason, it is recognised as an elite gem.
Today, it is a rare gem,
but today the main active sites are in Nigeria, Kenya, Namibia and Tanzania.
Bulgari only selects Mandarin Garnet with a bright, vivid, dense and warm orange,
the most prized colour of Namibia's specetite.
But I also like to space out with, I don't know, the amethyst,
rather than the green pomegranate.
These earrings, in my opinion, are fantastic earrings
because they tell us about two stones combined together for the first time.
They are pink sapphires and Mandarin Garnet.
It is the same Mandarin Garnet that gives me inspiration on how to use it,
that gives me the idea of which other stone to combine.
And so I do this at the beginning, putting them on the earrings.
Then I call the reference designer and together we discuss how to draw a link between the stones.
It is truly a moment of teamwork.
The Mandarin Garnet can be used with different cuts.
In this collection, it has been treated as cabochon, cushion cut,
pear shape or drop cut, oval cut, depending on the type of roll within the jewel.
All our products are famous for respecting the cuts that are on the market,
but also for mixing them.
With our designs they become immediately harmonious
and this is something that really makes Bulgari different from the others.
The layout is found in Jaipur
and the idea is to have beautiful ovals with very delicate lemons
and this underlining of ions.
This holiday brings us always close to the sun,
close to the warmth, to the beauty of what this city gives us.
