So here we go. This is a young man whose season is getting better and better.
Won the silver medal in the European Championships, goes into this free, flying in seventh place
lutz at the beginning. A huge opener. And there's the triple axel.
And quad lutz number two. He couldn't quite maintain control at the end, but it was clean I think.
That triple axel, triple salchow on the end. Triple lutz with ease.
Double axel with ease. That's his sequence. And the flip wraps up the jumps.
What we said, his season's getting better and better. And there it is for all to see.
A wonderful performance from Nikolai Momola for Italy. And you can see there just exactly why
he is the silver medalist from the European Championships. He couldn't fend off
the challenge from Bryczki, but he is an amazing talent. What about those quad lutzes at the
beginning? They were huge. They were huge. And Nikolai has been very vocal in the media about
the pressure that he feels to help the Italian team get as many spots as possible in the Olympic
Games. And that's a big ask. And we saw that focus in his face really through the first half
of this spring program today until most of his higher earning and more challenging elements
were done. I love his skating. I really do. His quad lutzes are gorgeous. Let's take a look at
the first one. Reach back, triple toe. Little scratchy on the triple toe landing.
And there's the triple axel Euler triple salchow in the second half receiving the bonus.
He is a fantastic performer.
And it's a big ask to represent your country and to
perform your absolute best to earn these spots for the Olympic Games. And you can see the relief
for Nikolai when this is done today. Yeah, the level is so high, isn't it?
So his season's best score is 177.69. Not sure he's going to get that.
167.24 is fifth. I think that will get him into fourth place overall.
